Liking this format, well done. My big bugaboo is photography....do you know of, or have, a tutorial for someone with minimal equipment? Thanks!

Thanks! Photography can definitely be tricky!! I am thinking of creating a video on that as well.. but until then, I found this video helpful! :) kzbin.info/www/bejne/pWOWZKGNe95khcksi=VQQB0n9X6_PBtJN5

Thank you Ellie i realise one of my questions wasnt explained well. For instance if i wanted to do a design on the front of my stone but still have a weaved front and a bale incorporating 3/4 wires on either side. How would i do that? Ive been wanting to do a tree of life but with that kind of design but i cant figure out how i would do that 😂

How to straighten square wire and how do you know when to use 18 gauge for a pendant
@ellieshandcrafted2 ай бұрын
For square wire, the easiest way to straighten it is to use your fingers or nylon jaw pliers. If it gets too twisted, I just cut off the affected wire and make twisted wire out of it to add to pieces later. For the 18 gauge, it mostly depends on the size of the stone you're wrapping or design preference. There are some artist that prefer to use 18 gauge for most of their pieces, because they like the look. Most of time, I just use it for stones that need a little extra structure. (Stones 40mm or larger). I hope that makes sense. :)

My biggest question is how on earth do you come up with new designs?? If left to my own devices I'd be sitting here with wire and no idea how to create the amazing pieces that come through your hands🎉🎉🎉

It didn't come easily. lol. Just keep learning from other artists and soon you'll be able to put your own spin on it. ;)

My big question is how do you decide where to tie down your elements?

Like I know normally the frame but it’s so hard to plan
@ellieshandcrafted2 ай бұрын
I suppose it depends on the type of frame you're talking about. If you mean the frame that weave first, then create the back, I usually just make sure that I'm using a weave that leaves some gaps that I can later feed my weaving wire through to secure it. If you mean a frame based pendant, where you create the frame and then build on it with different components, I usually just do my best to make sure that there's plenty of space to secure them onto that frame. This video explains the component based pendant: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hKC3dXmbl7psZtEsi=oluFydMXFXaHJJU9 and this one explains the woven frame: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bYqvcnh7Zct7pqcsi=8p6l5WVHvQkNUjE9. I hope that makes sense. Feel free to ask more questions if you need more help! :)

Hello, I am from California. I am new to your Channel. I started designing 5 years ago watching KZbin videos. God had his hand on me. I give him the glory. I bought something called Jewelry Shield, and it says allergy on the box. It looks like nail polish. It says Shields sensitive skin from jewelry irritation and prevents skin discoloration. This is something completely different. Found it at FMG. I've purchased several cleaners on Amazon to polish, the jewelry I made years ago. Any suggestions on how to store the jewelry we've made?

It depends on the materials you're using to create the piece. For sterling silver and copper, especially, it's ideal to keep them out direct sunlight and in a ziplock bag of some kind to keep the oxygen from oxidizing them. You can also get little silica gel packets that you can add to the bag to help prevent them from turning. I'm not familiar with the Jewelry Shield, but I do know that sealants like Renaissance Wax can help prevent them from darkening. But with things like copper, it's almost inevitable, so I will just patina them in liver of sulphur gel solution and then store them in ziplock bags. I hope that makes sense. :)
