Rode just released a new super compact wireless microphone system called the "Rode Wireless Go". Its small size makes it the perfect wireless microphone setup to use with your GoPro Hero 5/6/7 Black or your Osmo Pocket in addition to any other camera you own that has a microphone jack. One of its key features is the transmitter has it's own built-in microphone so you don't have to attach a lav mic, but there still is that option if you desire. I have been testing the Rode Wireless go for a few days now and I am really impressed. I have always steered clear of wireless microphones in the past because they tend to be bulky, complicated and expensive. The Rode Wireless Go is streamlined, easy to use and comes in at a reasonable price. I think the Rode Wireless Go is going to appeal to many KZbin Creators, Vloggers and Film Makers. Nice product those who really want external mic. Sounds more clarity without GoPro mic here.I been doing my travel vlogging with GoPro hero 7 black without external mic.If you don't want to spend extra bucks you can do some audio enhancement while doing editing. All you need to do is capture the audio in raw format✌

I had the Rode Go for about 3 weeks. I purchased the Pico Mic and WOW,..what a difference! I returned the Rode Go and kept the Pico Mics. Picos had way better range and signal strength, not to mention full mic gain control on the transmitter as well as MANY more receiver level options. The Rode Go's have a nice mic jack but that winds up being ruined because they only give you ONE factory fixed gain setting. What good is having a mic jack if you can't control it's gain amount to avoid clipping? The Pico Mic is pretty awesome....and it doesn't flop around your clothes when you clip it on!

I have a very simple question. When you set your RODE up and your using a non powered external mic, would you chose standard mic, or powered mic in the settings in the GoPro, since the RODE is powered.

Where do you plug in the 3.5 mic adaptor if you are also using the Osmo Pocket Wireless module? The module covers up the 3.5 mic adaptor insert on the bottom of the actual Pocket. Thanks.

Great video and very informative! I`ve got this system, it is really convenient but I came across some issue. While transmitter is charging via usb cable that came with it it will turn On by itself and stays On when unplugged. Have you had this issue with your mic? Thank you.

I’ve had the removu wireless system before but since it was Bluetooth the longer the clip the more the audio was out of sync have you been able to test if the audio has a lag on it when speaking straight to the camera?

No leg as far as I can tell, however I have not done any long range test yet. From what I’ve read when you are at a great distance you have to be in line of sight of the receiver

Adjusting the gain does help you could also place the microphone in a different location it was pretty close to where I was speaking
