You’re making progress. A few helpful tips: - tin both ends of what you’re soldering - use more heat ( as you pointed out) less touch time. I solder at 700 degrees on these components, keep it under 2 seconds touch time. - keep the kill key in while soldering the charge port. As soon as the battery is attached, those wires are live - make sure you have a 15 amp high drain battery. You may, I just couldn’t see the label. Mandatory for neopixel. - make your wiring intentionally too long. Something always comes up and it’s way easier to snip some off than to add or even replace them. Hit me up, or any experienced installer. It’s a great and helpful community, don’t be afraid to ask for tips and tricks! Oh, last tip. You need a multimeter if you don’t have one.

hey! I'm working on my first ever build right now, and since i have been looking at batteries on websites other than "saber websites" none of them say "high drain" but there are some that say 15 amp, and I am wondering if that is the same thing and those will work? Also I am wondering what protected means in terms of batteries and if I need it or not?

@@FunnyGameClips192 Hi. Yes you definitely want a 15 amp battery for neopixel. If it were me I’d just pick up a battery from Saberbay or somewhere like that. You do want the protection circuit in there, which those should have. That way any issue with voltage high or low and the battery will shut itself off. Easy to reset with a kill key or kill switch. Doesn’t happen often but it’s there if you need it. Also whenever possible I use removable batteries. Less wiring, easy to swap out at a Con or something. Easy to leave the saber empty for storage. Hope any of that helps

Ive been subscribed for a while and this guy is a genius. He is releasing all these parts and everyone keeps coming back then at the end he will have a video that will have all the parts. In conclusion he will have "all the views"

That’s actually exactly the plan lol but I’m just documenting. If I wanted the views I would’ve ended this series a long time ago 😅 My hope is to inspire!

This is a great series. I'm just starting to build my first saber and watched a lot of great videos from experts that make it look easy. This is the first with a beginner doing the work and I'm learning a lot!

Wish these Lightsaber build videos where a tad bit longer. Still cool getting to see the process though.

As usual Star Wars IRL drops a new video and I stop everything to watch. Lightsaber is looking pretty sick.

Love your videos. I just want to know where didi you get the chassis for the Spectre 6? I plan on getting the hilt in the future and I need to know where to get a chassis.

As someone who has installed a couple sabers, I would not bring that lighter next to the 18650, they are highly highly explosive

Why don’t you use a small sharp knife to cut some of that insulation off

This is literally rocket science for me 😂. I think they should invent a word for Lightsaber science.

Charge port: There is a screw on that....to secure the port to the chassi... So it will not stick out...and you would not need to insulate it

Every one in this series is making it less likely that my unpleasant looking pile of electronics is going into my hilt. It's really frustrating.
