THOSE STARS! We camped in the snow just before New Year's Eve (14f -10c) with snow and a full moon. I'm not sure I like better... the mountains lit up by the moon or seeing the billions of stars. Both are beautiful. Thank you for another fabulous relaxing video during these crazy times.

@@surfside75 Far up in the most northern part of Scandinavia, in the darkest period of the midwinter the sun never rises above the horizont still it is a short moment of light in the sky it's like a sunrise/sunset at the same time, some tourist goes there even more excited of that than they are of the midnight sun in the summer.

The jeweled stary sky was really awesome ... captured in all its magnificent splendour. Contrasted with the golden sunrise on the snow and trees one can only wonder at the feeling of waking up to such a splendour in the snow for those of us who don't have that opportunity. Amazing as always , I am stuck in Dubai and would exchange it in a millisecond. Questions : a. Dont you prefer to put your sleeping bag in a bivvy so it doesn't get snowed on ? B. With what clothes do you sleep? And where do you place your all day hiking clothing? Isnt it wet to put it in the bag ?

Thanks! :) If I'm sure there will be no snowing or windy I like the simplicity of sleeping unsheltered like this. I have my wool base layer during night. The clothes I put either between the sleeping bag and the mattress, or inside the backpack. Atb

When I was you're age in the '90's I used a IKEA bamboo carpet under my pad on the snow. But remember to sand the edges, bamboo is sharp

Hi Kimberly 😊 The only thing better would be as a passenger on Hubble 😂😅😀 Minus the coffee and the 👍🏽... When I look at those sky shots Eric does it makes me feel tiny... And yet a sense of ? grandness ? Together !! One of my " list " items is to c the aurora borealis !!!! That's just one of those sky things that really touches me !!!! fantastic! - thanks to your vids, I cycled up (175m AOD) on to the frozen South Downs (UK) on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve (-3 degrees C) and using a Saunders Jet Packer tent and a MACPAC sleeping bag had a frozen adventure. The frozen landscape under the moonlight was breathtaking!

I just got back from a three day hike. I only have one sleeping pad, bivvy bag and a down sleeping bag. Temperature around - 4 C. Was warm and slept well.
