What irritates me the most is the fact that Noah’s considered a bad boy when in reality he shouldn’t have to be. He’s a privileged white guy with loving parents, has a beautiful house with a pool, gets accepted to Harvard for some reason, has a car, plays sports, is attractive, isn’t addicted to drugs etc. The only thing making him seem as “bad” is the constant fighting, but still, what the hell is making him fight in the first place?? There’s no trauma or struggle anywhere in his life to motivate that.

This would have been THE BEST horror movie: seduced, kidnapped, surviving. And she gets to kill him in the end.
@mythandmayhem11344 жыл бұрын
OK so a psychological horror marketed as a romance. And we watch this toxic man or woman deal with their partner in very toxic ways but the main character still convinces themself that their partner loves them and maybe the main character even does love them (the love interest). And it’s a way to kind of demonstrate how hard it can be to detangle yourself from a toxic or abusive relationship because your mind plays tricks on you and convinces you that it’s normal, that it’s healthy, that it’s OK, that’s justifiable. And we watch them as they struggle to get away and escape, made more difficult because they cut off all other ties because the love interest convince him that those people are bad for them. But it doesn’t end once the main character escapes because it doesn’t just end once you get out of abusive relationship. There’s still recovery and relearning your value or learning it for the first time in some cases. They’re still learning who to trust you can’t be trusted. There’s trying to rebuild yourself into something without them. This abuse and this trauma isn’t romanticize. This is what is happened to so many people and what is continuing to happen to so many people and this would be a statement about why it’s dangerous to idolize these abusive and toxic relationships. I do say all of this knowing full well that the “romantic lead” who is pretty obviously abusive and toxic and horrible and (maybe hopefully dead by the end) would be romanticized.

“Wearing something like that-“ Okay, stop right there. We. Are not gonna involve ourselves with this completely out of date misogyny. A girl wearing short skirts or shorts is *not* an invitation or an offer. It’s just clothes. Sexualizing clothing is not good. Please stop.
@madalyn73533 жыл бұрын
i wanted to about jump through the screen and slap him into oblivion. yes the idea to wear the micro skirt over other options was dumb and impractical but it was most definitely not her asking to get sexualized. his manipulation is so prevalent in that scene. he defends her and then victim blames her.
@ggundercover36813 жыл бұрын
and the funniest thing is she doesn't even look sexy or slutty or revealing. ppl who tells girls this often are just perverted because the girls don't look slutty or sloppy or revealing in any way. I've literally worn full outfits (I'm very conservative), in work clothes, anything that just looks nice and that's apparently inviting as well. so the mindset is just a bs excuse for harassment. I'm so tired of hearing this crap and I'm glad women are realising it's bs as well.

Agreed but you still need to be FUCKIN careful. Most men ain't gonna care but there still going to be the ones to take it as an offer. It's the sad reality. @@DioDeezBrando i get what youre saying but it also makes no damn sense because i was assaulted while wearing a hoodie and jeans. it happens regardless of what you're wearing and wearing short skirts doesnt make you more likely to be assaulted just like wearing conservative clothing doesnt make you less likely. if its going to happen, its going to happen.
@DioDeezBrando3 жыл бұрын
Yes I agree with you to some extent but wearing less revealing clothes will decrease the chances but it doesn't mean that it will drop them down to zero.
