I think I’ve seen this before, especially with adult men. I’ve got in my head a scene where his kids or little sisters or something all help him clean up before he has the confidence to even ask her on a date. I don’t remember the original Shes all that much but I remember the main girl was weird as all hell but not pretentious or mean. She was just an artist who dressed weird, was poor and didn’t have time for bs. The popular kids, even the main guy, were the assholes. (I literally remember not wanting her to get with the guy cause he sucked, similar to how Cindy wanted Addison Rae to do better than this guy) Oddly enough the quirky outcast is the one who’s unlikable in this and the arrogant popular kid is ok.
