What I think though was at that time, Gen WAS second choice. Think about it. Lara Jean tried to fake break up with Peter Kavinsky at this point. Peter didn't want to so they stayed together. At this point, Peter likes her already. He tried to get her to sit with him in the bus. He wanted to sit with her, but she didn't want to so he ended up sitting with Gen (so Gen was second choice here). In Peter's head, he probably thought Lara didn't like him AND making out with Gen wouldn't really be wrong since they weren't officially together. When Lara came, he was happy and confessed. They ended up making out. He was in that hot tub to meet up with Gen because the girl he now liked, Lara Jean, kept sending him "I'm not into you" vibes. Yes, he was there with Gen but Lara Jean was number one at this point.

The original actor for John looks almost EXACTLY like I pictured John Ambrose in the books. I mean, Jordan Fisher did a fine job, but looks wise he looked nothing like the John I pictured. (Neither did Noah Centineo btw though that might also be because of his acting, I pictured Peter a lot more suave and smooth, not as... whatever Noah Centineo is).

ARE WE GOING TO IGNORE THAT “break my heart, break my heart into a thousand pieces, do whatever you want” is a rip off of one of the most beautiful lines of literary history “ break my heart, break it a thousand pieces, it was only every yours to break” this is from the book “The One” by Kira Cass. In “The One” he’s dyeing under a table, after an attack, after he was about to marry someone else because he learned that America (main character) dated her ex a little while she was dating him, before she broke it off with the ex. And there he is, bleeding to death, under a table, as rebels kill his parents and some of their friends. And he says that line to America before ordering a a guard to leave him and take her to safe place. And even though he is the future king, and even though all the heartbreak they put each other through over the last three books, He still protects America. And he says these words, well knowing they may be his last.

Yara Abu Laban, It’s a really good book series and I recommend reading it. The first book is called “The selection” by Kira Cass. But if you really want to know..... He survives barely with a really bad broken arm and some other damage, both his parents die, and half of their freinds. America’s father also dies. America’s ex helps save the king, while completely destroying his leg. Her ex ends ends up walking her down the isle in a crutch and its really cute. And a few years later America and the king have twins, a boy and a girl, and the next two books are about the girl. (:
