Wolf Alice's songs hit me like no other modern rock band can. Feelings of dreamy nostalgia, longing, lost youth, hopefulness & bittersweet melancholy. They remind me of all my favorite 90s music in the best way possible :)

Sameeee. I would discover a new song by them once or twice a year through Spotify recommendations and one day was like "Huh, I like a lot of songs by this specific band...maybe I should just check them out." Ended up having a full discography playlist on repeat for weeks because there wasn't one skippable song. That hasn't happened for a while for me with any band/artist.

The lyrics ! [Verse 1] When will we three meet again? In thunder, lightning, in rain Still sink our drinks like every weekend But I'm sick of circling the drain (drain, drain, drain) [Chorus] Let me off, let me in Let others battle We don't need to battle and we both shall win [Verse 2] When will we meet eye to eye? We clink the glass but we look at the floor Are we still friends if all I feel is afraid? You're not a bitch but just a bit when you're bored [Chorus] Let me off, let me in Let others battle Wе don't need to battle and we both shall win Let mе off, let me in Let others battle We don't need to battle and we both shall win [Verse 3] Pressed in my palm (pressed in my palm) Was a stone from the beach (a stone from the beach) The perfect circle (the perfect circle) Gave a moment of peace (gave a moment of peace) Now I'm lying on the floor (I'm lying on the floor) Like I'm not worth a chair (not worth a chair) I close my eyes and imagine I'm not there

I’d like to know the deeper meaning to the lyrics: like the Macbeth influence, hopefully they’ll be interviewed about it soon
@kfoster19353 жыл бұрын
The second last lyric is “with our love off the shore” according to other sources. I listened for multiple times the first word is definitely not “like”, it’s much more likely “with”, so I think “with our love off the shore” is the correct lyric. I could be wrong tho cuz the last word really sounds like “chair”.

I quite literally can’t stop thinking and listening to this record. It has sunk into my conscious, my skin and slightly soothes my depressive episode as it’s come back. I don’t think I’d be quite okay as I am without it. Really truly, am so thankful for blue weekend, and to connect with losing love that was abusive but also beautiful because of loving that person before realizing they would ruin you. I don’t know, just so many feelings.
