Recipe
∙ 2 whole pork shanks
∙ ½ onion
∙ 2 carrots
∙ 1 stick of celery
∙ 4 tablespoons canola oil, for frying
∙ 1 teaspoon dried ginger
∙ 1 teaspoon onion powder
∙ 1 teaspoon garlic powder
∙ 1 teaspoon paprika
∙ 1.7 liters chicken stock (3 bouillon cubes)
∙ 4 medium potatoes(save them for the bratkartoffeln)
∙ Enough oil to deep fry the pork shanks
Bratkartoffeln (German fried potatoes)
∙ 4 medium potatoes, boiled
∙ 250 grams smoked bacon
∙ ½ onion
∙ canola oil, for frying
∙ 1 teaspoon dried/fresh parsley
