It would be great if more teen girls would find this channel; but at the same time, it's depressing at how many moms and grand moms are failing at their job of teaching girls that their worth is not in cheap attention, but found in a relationship with God and having self-respect & respect for others.

You can also be elegant in your natural (no added hair no makeup) representation matter knowing that you dont have to look like someone else in order for you to be deemed a elegant woman and you can feel comfortable in your own skin matter. Especially for melanated women.

I wear long nails, not cardi b long. Lol I used to be a nurse so hand washing is so important to me. I keep a clean nail brush and antibacterial soap at all times at every sink I use. I do my own nails so I don’t ever have to wait too long in between maintenance. I put a new set on every 2 weeks or less. It’s a preference to wear them long. And I don’t even care who don’t like it. It makes me so happy. I’m a retired Navy Veteran and wore short nails for years. I’m free now. Lmao😂Doing my nails keeps my ptsd/depression at bay ❤ But I love what you are teaching! I think this largely depends on culture. I also wear my nails semi-long and get compliments all the time by elegant people, men and women. Many respectable ladies and classy celebrities also wear long nails because it’s considered fashionable. I think it all comes down to tasteful designs and flattering colors. On the contrary, when I wear short nails nobody comments on it. In my culture very short nails can look juvenile like what teens would wear so they can sneakily go to school. It’s not the most attractive look for a young woman. I don’t think elegance is a one size fits all and most content I see online mostly cover western idea of elegance.

THANK YOU - I love to see content creators cut through the "don't judge me" nonsense. Anna Bey, The Feminine Fancy, Olivia B, Freddy My Love, and Woman of Elegance all understand that how you present yourself to the world matters, it brings you more respect and opportunities. If you want to be taken seriously at school, at work (be it just a part-time job or in your full-time profession), or on the dating scene, then you need to dress the part. All of these tips make sense and every woman can apply them in her everyday life.

Yes. However, there is a difference between recognising that that is the case, and endorsing it. The other people aren’t unaware of how society perceives them; they are actively working to dismantle those stereotypes by literally telling people not to judge

That’s still judgement though. You can acknowledge that there’s a time and place for certain outfits without judging those around you for the way they choose to dress themselves. We can all agree you should look professional at your job, but that doesn’t mean you have to judge the people who don’t. It’s just about minding your business

I’m artistic and I’m from the Caribbean so I love colour and splashes of it 😂 but I think women should also find their personal style and individualize their look; “elegant” does not have to mean that all women look the same but this advice about the essentials is excellent! Now I’m on a full out modesty journey and don’t even own any pants or sneakers or anything & I ensure I look my best when leaving my home. All I wear now are dresses and skirts. Men always treat me nice and hold the door open for me and if when drop something in public, they pick it up for me. Women and men both compliment me all of the time. Men hold the door open for you? They hold it for me also, and I like to look nice, but in my 70’s I wear slacks much more often. No one would ever mistake me for a man. No need to fall for the dress, to not look mannish.
@BitterBetterBM
@BitterBetterBM Жыл бұрын
@@lynnebattaglia-triggs1042 pants themselves aren’t what make women look mannish, however, I’m 25 and women my age wear Crocs, baggy t-shirts, and distressed jeans and dress very androgynous (if not out right mannish) and I prefer to be a prim and proper gyal. I already went through my phase of graphic t-shirts, hoodies, leggings, and skinny jeans and realize I didn’t put any effort into my wardrobe and simply followed the trend. I’m glad to hear men holding the door open for elderly women, a teeny bit of my hope has been restored.

Elegance doesn’t mean that you have to look dull. It simply means to tone down a bit and be well groomed. Some of these things are common sense and some you speak are not unacceptable. I wear any length nails I want! However they are not loud colors or designs, usually a neutral or one color on every nail. I’ve always kept my nails VERY clean, I use a brush underneath EVERY TIME I wash my hands! I love quiet luxury and monochromatic outfits, but I LOVE a pop of color! Also, I have 2 tattoos one can be seen and one can’t. Both are tasteful. So I just think elegance can be interpreted and expressed many ways. Good video

It's *her* opinion on *her* channel. Yes, you can wear what you want on your nails. She isn't saying you specifically should not. She doesn't follow the trend and that's her choice. A lot of us feel this way, but we get drowned out by the flashiness in others and get called plain Janes by other women aka " look dull". Let her have the space to speak her viewpoints and learn to not take others' opinions so personally. If you were really confident that you are classy and elegant, you wouldn't be so much in your feels about her giving her opinion.

My admiration and respect for your videos emphasizing elegance! It saddens me that it's rare among us. My mother aways emphasized to invest in a coat, purse, shoes, and a wallet. She would say, "Although we may be poor we don't need to be lazy and look sloppy." "We can stand out, admired and respected for our good faith efforts!" Men are to also invest in a coat, shoes, belt, and wallet. Never ever wear clothes that look like they were taken out of the hamper! Women to always wear a dress to church, a wedding, a baptism, a graduation, a quinceanera (sweet sixteen) and, always wear dark solid colors to a funeral. Men to wear a suit and tie to all these occasions! We are at these events for the person being honored or celebrated and looking presentable is being respectful! May elegance and grace win! Much love! ❤

Yes indeed - many of these women leave the house wearing nothing but underwear. You see them in Walmart, the airport ….. I mean EVERYWHERE . Has society lost its mind.? And it seems the bigger and more overweight - the more they want to put on display. It’s just gross, extremely unattractive and disgusting. Who wants to look at 4 layers of body fat hanging from your stomach and around your sides like stacked tires.??? These people must consume food cows 🐄 and Bisons 🦬, because this is what many women are looking like today and don’t give a damn about leaving the house looking sloppy and unkept. Decency is for certain not important and elegance is obviously not important as well or a goal.

@@fourthgirl I don't think I missed it at all :-) She is definitively right that too much is taking away from elegance and I have quite many tattoos on one arm. But nonetheless I decided to keep them since the message of kindness towards all beings is such an important one (I stand up for animal rights and have many of the animals that I rescued from slaughter tattooed on). I started to dress modestly and wanting to be elegant after I made those. Even if they are distractive and not too elegant since I have many, I'll keep them and not laser them away. But that's the beauty of those videos; we can take what fits to us and use it to elevate ourselves, and we can leave what does not suit our preference and go on. I’m an artist. I think it really comes down to your career and lifestyle. I love oversized clothing and form-fitting, it depends on the occasion, how I’m feeling, and time of year. Fashion is never one size fits all. And no matter the length of your nails, good hygiene should be important to everyone. I’ve seen people with very short and filthy nails, and people with long and gorgeous nails. How to care for your clothing is universal too, but it really comes down to one’s personal comfort and wearing whatever makes you feel confident. I could never wear plain, uniform clothing every day. I enjoy variety and experimentation far too much, but there are still universally useful tips here even if your personal aesthetic is wildly different than what’s described here.

Same here girly! Don’t feel bad. Im such a beautiful woman and I’m stuck with these tattoos from over 10years ago. Main reason I’m even watching this video, to see how I can still portray an elegant look even with them. I think for us it’s mainly about how we carry ourselves because we are judged instantly from the tattoos! ❤

**Splendid!** I appreciate your recommendations! My most prominent concern is wrinkled garments, haha. At times, I may exhibit a touch of laziness 😅; however, this often leads to feelings of insecurity later on. So, no more wrinkled clothes.

YES. I saw a really classy older lady with the most beautiful purple hair. She dressed very minimal, but she had a splash of fun with her purple hair. Her hair was styled simple, which created balance.

@Recluse-music.. I completely agree with the comment you made. I think that people can look elegant with long nails and different colored hair. Like you said , as long as you respect yourself, you will always be elegant. You can follow all these rules, and some people are still not going to respect you and could care less if you look eloquent. People always talk about outward appearance, but I’m always looking inside a person. What kind of person are you inside?

I 100% agree with this whole list and realize I naturally gravitate towards all these types of things anyway. Also, I would never eat food prepared by someone with super long nails. You’d be surprised and disgusted with the amount of bacteria and fecal matter under those nails (so kudos to the long nail girls who know to use a nail brush and antibacterial soap at every hand washing). Great video!

I would also say that if you want to further smoothen the look of your undergarments, as perhaps they have designs/lace that press into the fabric of your outfit, invest in a simple slip to pop on over them. This can really help.

I’m 47 years old now and all my friends that are around my age and have tattoos regret getting them when they were younger, because most of them want to look classy and no matter what they wear, the tattoos just bring down the look. It doesn’t match and covering them up is a hassle and getting them removed isn’t easy either. So if you’re young really think about that.

Thank you so much and I really agree with all your points 💯. I like the way you spoke about tattoos I.e not attacking anyone but clearly showing that if you love your tattoos it’s good but you can’t then go the elegant look. One image consultant spoke and mentioned that 55% of a person’s opinion about you is made up at first glance. So we have to think about the first impression we give, of course for those that care. It’s about choices after all.

Elegance is a woman's superpower. It takes a really tuned in, confident woman to radiate as 100% female, especially in a stressful world. Your look can also reveal how you tick on a deep level. Too much of anything might suggest that you've psychological issues or that you're struggling with confidence and self love and respect. There's generosity in presenting elegance. You're basically telling people to treat you with respect and that you respect them enough to make an effort to look 'peak class' in their company.

Good tips! I think knowing your colour season also helps with finding the rights colour that fit you. I always had the feeling that the colour yellow, orange and red were the worst on me and I found out that its because I am a true summer. Which means I lean to cool colours with a softer side to it so not winter because winter is the more bright season of the cool. I have now found my favorite colours to wear that fit me and it makes me so happy haha.

You are phenomenal and 200% correct. Unfortunately, teenage girls who exhibit a "cheap" look do so to gain attention for all the wrong reason. They feel unloved and have no self esteem. So instead of loving and having respect for themselves they shout out, as you said, "Look at me!" As a 19th c. ballad says, "She is more to be pitied than censured." Keep up the good work.
