I'd probably go for the T34. While I do like the Lowe and it does have a great gun, I hardly ever touch it anymore and I think the turret armour of the T34 just gives you more options.

Jingles, I own a T34 & I have a couple of bones to pick with you on your review. 1st, the T34's gun is a higher caliber to the Lowe's, but it outperforms the Lowe's gun drastically because in many cases it is more accurate than the Lowe's & is capable of penning even the mighty E-100 in the lower plate with reasonable success. 2nd, that angling issue is a common one. The hull is the major weakness & the squared plate you were talking about is a favorite (& annoying) weakspot on the T34. 3rd, the T34 is more than capable of dueling another tank of it's teir as long as the T34 player knows where to shoot & uses that gun mantle (Which is more than capable of blocking a 155 shell).

Sounds like a decent equipment setup to me. For crewskills you generally can' go wrong with repairs wherever you can get it on a heavy tank. I'd go with Clutch Braking on the Driver and Snap Shot on the Gunner, though. Perhaps when a Loader reaches 100% repairs, swap it for Safe Stowage, but other than that, you're good.

T34. Purely because it's slightly cheaper. However, you need to consider what other heavy tanks you have. If you have a couple of german heavies, get the Lowe, if you have American heavies, get the T34, just get them without crews. I say this because you can put other tank crews of the same nation and class in a Premium tank and use it without penalty, so they're really good for training your crews up.

It's not a theory, it's a fact. The most money I ever earned in a match was 114,000 credits. And I didn't do it in a Lowe or T34. The Type 59 can get around the battlefield to take the shots that no premium tier 8 heavy ever could. The ability to earn money isn't solely dependent on how big a gun you have in your turret. Mobility in this game is a huge factor, there's a reason why it's called World of Tanks, not World of Entrenched Gun Positions.

Well good sir, I should tell you. I just played my third game in the T34, and this was the result. Experience received: 1,737 Credits received: 115,430 Battle Achievements: Steel Wall, Invader, Sniper, Master Gunner, Sharpshooter, Mastery Badge: "1st Class" So this thing really can print credits like the type. The gun is incredibly powerful, and hull down you're an impenetrable fortress. So far I'm lovin this beast :)

What surprised me was that the most money I ever heard of anyone earning in a game was over 200k, in a SuperPershing. Now the SuperPershing doesn't have an amazing gun and it's about as fast as a one-legged tortoise. And this guy made 200k+ in it. So he didn't have the Type 59's mobility OR the T34's firepower and still played a game that makes both of us look like rank amateurs. I guess it just takes all sorts.

I've noticed the same thing when I get tracked from the front corners in my T-34. The best possible situation is to get the tank in a hull-down position, so all they can hit is the front of your turret. Not always practical, but it is preferred. Popping out from cover to shoot also works well, just know that you are likely to take damage if they hit your exposed hull. All that said, the damage the gun on the T34 makes most of the shots you take VERY gratifying! lol

Yup so I've had this thing for a month and do not regret buying it over the other tier 8 prems. This thing might get into tier X games, but it sure as hell can survive, once in hulldown with your front to the enemy and you fuck em up easily, high pen and 400 damage gun are great, the bad accuracy might grab your nuts firmly though. Recomend this thing for sure

This tank may be tough but the guns shooting back at you will exceed the top armour of the turret how do you defend against that every tier ten medium uses ap and most tier nines have upwards of 300 pen

+EvilCleric Then you've played against gold spammers. Heat ammo is only good against flat armor like on the Maus or E100, it's not good against angled armor or rounded armor because it has a lower pen than AP. This tank is complete ass in tier ten games when you go up against good players that know the weak spots. Their AP overmatches your armor most of the time. This tank doesn't have a high enough DPM to compete at tier 10, and its view range is awful, so not good a sniping. The Lowe has a way better gun and view range, and is cheaper.

I remember that match because when it ended (after my painful demise at the one-hand of arty) I noticed I blocked a 750 blast from an E-100.but considering the penetration on his normal rounds, I can kinda see why he fired gold.

HI Jingles, I have both the Lowe and the T34, although I was fortunate enough to buy the Lowe when it originally came out for 7500 gold and also I had the T34 in my garage as a tier 9 when it was changed so I got the premium T8 version for free - result! I would have to agree with you that I would not recommend spending 12000+ gold on either of those tanks. I have tried the Super Pershing on the 8.1 test and it is probably best value for money though my average earnings were lower than the Lowe.

I've also got vents, a rammer, and BIA, but I elected to go full crew repairs before any other skills or perks. The 12.38 sec reload time actually makes an insane difference on the T34.

I was thinking about getting a Super Pershing but now I am considering a T34. The main reason is to train an American heavy tank crew instead of an American medium tank crew. I will be putting a lot of battles in whichever premium tank I buy in order to get credits so the amount of crew training should be significant. Since the top tier American heavy is ahead of its peers and the medium is closer to the middle or bottom compared to its peers the heavy line seems a better focus to get more wins.

I personally find the Type 59 to be the most versatile of all the Tier 8 premium tanks. The ability to zip around the battlefield with a good enough gun and decent armor means the Type 59 should be able to get into many positions and flank. I personally have actually made the most money in the T34 though. 160,000 credits. The big gun allows you to lay down some serious damage, although it has a slow reload.

There is another reason for getting the T34: it is also good for grinding experience for your American heavy crews. You can also grind for experience and convert it to free experience if you have enough gold for it.

Jingles you can see the HP/weight ration as well as DPM on every tank you own if you just hold you mouse cursor over it in garage slots section.

i love my T34. i currently have vertical stabilizer, gun rammer, and enhanced gun laying drive on it. what modules would you recommend on it? i found those 3 work fairly well but still looking if there is something better. also what crew skills would you recommend?

No. Definitely not. It only uses one CPU core so you can slap the most expensive graphics card you can afford into it (like I did) and only see a 2% performance increase.

to be honest the t34 was my first tank, ive been playing this tank for a very long time now and its been my fav mayne until i get my maus, im currently working for ausf A. i recommend getting the reload module, the sight focus module, and the track module. the tracks are for durability and weight treduction, ive notice a slight increase on my speed cuz of that. my reload also i have 100 crew so my reload is ave.

the T95 no , the is7 can knock his tracks frontally too , if they want to , what i think you should is try to get a shot that damage his tracks and hit the hull , get close enough ( he can't hit you not enough gun depression ) , wait form him to take his shot than try to circle him for so you can unsure that the IS7 can advance safely

Though I did make 164k Credits with the Lowe, and 130k Credits with the Type 59. I still like the T34 Heavy Tank. Just because getting Brother in Arms & Snap Shot and Clutch breaking helps it a lot. 12.38 seconds ROF on the T34 Heavy Tank with the Gun Rammer, Vent and BIA.

It depends on your favorite play style. You get more money the more you play with the tank and the more damage, capture points and spot damage you do. Logical conclusion would be, that the better gun the tank has, the more money will you earn, as it deals more damage. But again, it depends on your playstyle. If you like to go close and personal, probably IS-6, if you like to hide behind a hill and shoot down on others on medium distance, get T34, sniping - Loewe, FCM 50, I dont know :D

Nice review, especially as I've been grinding the T29. If you don't mind me making a point about killing Artillery, let me suggest the T5 ELC light tank/TD (Francais), the T5 M7 Medium tank (US), the T5 VK 16.01 Leopard (Deutscher), and everyone's favorite, the T3 Panzer 1C mit EW141, as dosage vectors for Arty hunting fun. Higher tiers, I'll admit, are trickier, but my lowly T5 Chaffee light tank (US) manages to surprise enemy base campers on occasion (which I'm sure you'll agree is otherwise contraindicated tactics for a tank whose armor is made of Papier Mâché). The kleiner Leopard has a wonderful hidden superpower, vis a vis arty hunting, however: once tricked out with suspension and spall liner equipment upgrades, it's the best Rampanzer in the business. Another great post, Jingles!

Hey I have the T34 and yes I can see that I do get hit there a bit but there is a way to prevent that it's called a heavy spall liner and enhanced suspension I almost made that point invincible at an angle to most tier ten most teir 9s and all teir 8s so if you do that you do surprisingly better thanks for listening.

hey jingles that thing about the armor being thicker in the middle is wrong because if u go into a game and look at your hull from the bottom it doesn't stick out the things on top are just little storage places or some thing but the reason why you cant angle your armor in the t 34 is just because of its poor side armor

I agree with the part at the end and the cost of the T34, however the thing to consider is that WoT is available as a free to play game. If you have and maintain a premium account, you already get a 50% bonus to XP and credits, but if you don't, a premium tank might be more worth it. Yes you can get the SP for less, just wanted to throw that out there. I'm more disappointed by the fact that with the premium tanks, you have to pay to use the experience gained by them on top of the tank cost.

I got this tank for free when they swapped it out for the M103 back in 7.2 or whenever it was and have had 2000+ games in it. Most tanks in the game have crap armor on the hull so the T34 kinda helped me develop a habit of finding hull-down spots in maps. And yea, side armor is garbage, don't rely on it.

If you do 4,000 Damage in a SuperPershing and 4,000 Damage in a T-34, your getting the exact same credits, with the only affecting variables being Spotting/Detection, Survival, Ect. Only difference the superpershing is Half the money lol.(Cost) Also the Superpershing has much better spaced-aumor. But i dont fear any of the teir 8 premium heavy tanks, as i kill them all pretty easily in my IS-3. I personally think the Type-59 is more scarier 1 on 1. :P

About that weakspot...it depends on how you angle your hull, what i do is cover it completely and only show my tracks at a little angle, and the tracks absorb shit tons of damage, it is also great on town maps, it is a good sniper and can brawl if necessary. It might not have the hull but it can bounce a decent amount. It makes an amazing amount of credits, and has the best characteristics of all american heavies. I play tanks to my own liking, like i brawl with my FV215b :P

Jingles, I've watched this video twice now - once when I was fairly new to World of Tanks and was deciding upon a premium tank to own, and of course, today (a year and a month later). At the time of the video the Type 59 must have still been an option). Baring in mind that I am a big fan and have learned a LOT from you, I believe that there are plenty of arguments for buying a T34 (I have driven my own for over 1700 battles - so it shows that I disregarded the recommendation). My primary reason for buying one was to train my U.S. Heavy Tank crews. This tank consistently MAKES me between 50 and 80K credits on average games in which I must repair and replenish heavily - and has earned back in credit grinding far beyond the initial cost of buying one. I wonder, do you still feel the same way about the T34 after all this time or is it still NOT worth the money in your opinion?

Yes, they earn less money (as in income) per game, but the shellcost of a 90-ish is a fraction of the cost of the 120, meaning that the profit per game is roughly the same.

Jingles, you should know that the M103 actually replaced the T34 in the American tech tree back in patch ... 0.7? I think? So yeah. The reason it doesn't feel like a premium tank is because it's basically a nerfed T9 Heavy slotted into T8, and with "Premium" slapped on to it.

I own both the Löwe and T34. My take on them: I think the T34 is better than the Löwe. Aiming time is horrible, but being able to sit in a good hull down position and ding shots off of your mantlet is great. They both make good money. I've made 130-140k credits on good games with both of them. Why heavy and not medium? I play more heavy tanks than medium, and I like training my heavy tank crew. Just transfer the crew from any US heavy tank to the T34, and then back again after playing a game.

T34 summed up; T29 that's been nerfed to all buggery in most respects, but has a bigger boom stick strapped on. Gets in tier 10 matches like the Lowe, and makes coin like the Lowe.
