Lb for lb is for manlets. Lift the most weight to be considered the strongest, period. I don't mind someone being the strongest in a weight class, but don't claim anything else. John Haack is amazing for his weight classes, but he can't hold a candle to the SHW class. I think lb for lb argument comes from Hollywood tropes of the over-common "underdog" that we see far too often in media. It's actually surprisingly rare, and almost never happens legitimately. I also despise the concept of an underdog. The hypothetical situation for them has to be perfect in order to "beat the buzzer".

is it just me that thinks the slim white dude lifting looks like a skinnier version of Todd Hutchings

I'm surprised this video hasn't gone viral. So much knowledge, attention to detail, different point of views shared. Incredible.

Glad it hasn't, sumo is glorified shrugging!

Yuri BELKIN BEST SUMO!
@norzpower82353 жыл бұрын
Belkin broke Jamal's record but not in a full meet. I'd like to see them head to head, but Jamal's raw squat totally destroys Belkin's, so in total Jamal is better hands down.
@norzpower82353 жыл бұрын
@@charliejxhn That's using knee wraps. Belkin's PR in sleeves is around 325 - 330 kg, and Jamal lifts way more than that in sleeves.

love this collab. if larry wants to level up his deadlift, jamal is definitely the guy to talk to!

I just watched Jamal deadlift 483kg and I can say he definitely has potential to have the world record deadlift which is super impressive due to his weight difference to people like Thor and Eddie

We know that Larry is just kidding when his says sumo is cheating But dudes will really say that shit, and then act like lifting conventional with a deadlift suit is the coolest shit ever lol
@ipsojure21373 жыл бұрын
haha yeah, I kinda wish they'd keep it raw for deadlifts, just raw strength (I like straps tho, minor cheat for me)

Once your try to be super technical about it thats when you have more issues - jamal gives great wisdom here and also his understanding of biomechanics is probably what gives him the edge. Its critical to have proficient understanding of biomechanics here.
