thank you for your videos. I have a problem with my 1999 w208. I watched your video on how to press the button under the plastics, but in this car there isn't any button like your video. it has a dead battery so I am not sure if it has to be with a good battery, all I need is to get the car into neutral but I spent hours on it and have got no where

RandomKes my Key fob doesn't work from far I have to point it right on the sensor on the door handle. Sometimes it even takes long to shoot.

Try changing the battery in the fob. Or even just take the battery out, and put it back in. There may be dust or some such preventing a complete circuit

Does this happen to automatic transmission on Mercedes? (sorry if I used the incorrect term) My dad would freak out and wouldn't know how to get it to move in his passenger seat while I'm at my driver seat trying to move the thing to reverse or drive.. So I found out something like this has a similiar problem too. Also it gets stuck on park mode. I really don't want to get stuck during my driving test lol.

hi I have similar problem but it's stuck in D (drive) or N.. no further than that. I have to turn car off n the move gear leaver to park or reverse... also if it's in D I have to bump brakes several time n then I can engage it reverse it P. if u can help me it will be great. I have same car as yr video. Thanks

What fixes this problem? I know this video is a quick fix... but mine is doing this also. Also if pushing this button fixes it... can I just wedge the button closed so it shifts like normal?

World Mechanics I'm having this issue. There is no brake light switch under the dash. This problem has happened a few other times but started working again after playing with the shifter for a bit. I've never been stuck in Park. It's always been after I've been driving, that it won't go into Park. Reverse Neutral and Drive all work fine and the rest of the vehicle works fine. But its been days now that I cannot get it to shift back into Park. I know about the bypass and have disassembled the center console to use it but it does nothing. When I push it, it won't shift past neutral. But if I don't push it, then it will go up to reverse. Can you offer any advice? I don't know if it's coincidence or not, but I was reading a thread about this same issue someone else was having on the same vehicle and it began the day after a heavy storm. And I don't remember about the other times that this happened for me, but I know that it happened for me as well the day after a very bad storm. And right before the storm everything was working fine. I know because I moved the car out from under an old tree.
