Just an FYI...Again, the audio when I speak is actually from my camera mic. The mic on my desk stopped working properly about 10 minutes in. It left a low hum and made my vocal distorted for the rest of the video. I am getting the part to fix MY mic today though! Next vid should be back to normal! Mahalo and enjoy the LAST ONE!

Hello hello hello hello. Do the Wembley concert it will not disappoint. Looks like to me you had a mega floorgasm. LOL. I have watched this concert over a hundred times, and every time I watch it is just like for the first time.I feel like I have missed out in something historic and Life by not being there.a little footnote the three girls that are banging their head during this concert, they follow them to all the shows when they are on tour. That is on my bucket list to do. I am 55 years old and I just discovered nightwish a little over a year.I have never heard music like this before I am an 80s guy. These guys are just amazing. Brother you are in the nightwish army now. Stand tall be proud and play nightwish. Keep on keepin on...

And Nightwish is just a small part of the most important thing you need to watch: Ayreon. Start with The Day That The World Breaks Down. If you like the musical prowess and variety of Nightwish, you will love Ayreon. If you want to get into lyrics, there is no comparison. I can only describe it as the greatest Sci Fi audiobook ever created. This is a rabbit hole like none other

@ArimoDave4 жыл бұрын
If I recall correctly, J.S. Bach once said to aspiring composers something that went like this: "Learn all the rules, so you know how to break them." Nightwish takes this concept to heart. They seem to break the rules, but there is still a cohesiveness due to following the rules much of the time. The rules are broken for specific effect, and get one's attention. Coming from a Classical music background, I found that Nightwish somehow got my attention. I'm still trying to work out much of the music theory as to why. I'ts been a long time since I studied this in college the first time around.

GLS is a piece that you appreciate more everytime you hear it. After the first time, you know what is coming but you still catch something new and the awe starts all over again. This is the incredible the whole is greater than the sum of the parts effect when you put 6 people on stage who are all legit monsters at what they do. The ending that you cut off just further shows Nightwish isn't a band, it's a family and that turns great music into epic music. Name anyone else that can sound better live than in the studio. Don't worry, I'll wait.

Hey bro! Just finished going through your Nightwish Wacken journey and it was awesome to follow your reactions to one of my favorite concerts from one of my favorite bands. Since your reaction videos are so nice and also, on the first video I saw from your channel, you said you like to discover new artists, I have a bold suggestion for you. I know you probably receive lots of recommendations, but I think I should at least try to introduce you to Ayreon. Long story short, it is actually not a band, but a concept project created by the dutchman mastermind Arjen Lucassen (multi-instrumentalist, singer, producer, composer, etc), and counting with the participation of some of the greatest musicians and singers from metal scene. Just to prove I'm not lying, Floor and Marko from Nightwish took part on the concert I'm going to leave the link below - one of the few concerts they did, as it's kinda difficult to put all those busy musicians together. I promise you're not going to regret nor waste your time. Actually I'm pretty sure it would even brought you some of those amusement moments like Nightwish live at Wacken did. Please, give it a try! Without further talking, here's the link: kzbin.info/aero/PLJGn3wi7b7b606GfoKAdOgm6rtX9OliRc (It's a playlist cause there's no version with the whole concert in a single video on youtube) Sorry for writing that much Greetings from Brazil 🤘🇧🇷 Keep Rocking!

Before Wembley you should check out more of their history to be ready for "The Poet And The Pendulum". I can try to find something if you promise to check them out ;)
@tommyjohnson91754 жыл бұрын
The song production process is amazing.. Tuomas "the Mozart of Metal".. He writes the songs, sends out sound tracks, they get together to put the song together and put on the final touches.. Then Tuomas has to compose the backing sound tracks.. They are not just sampled out of some movie sound track or something.. He writes them for these songs, he then works with groups like the London Philharmonic to produce the backing sound tracks. The chorus backing vocals. That's written sheet music, each part sopranos, mezzo, alto, the harmonies.. It's ridiculous.. Floor said when she did Shoemaker.. They did her vocals several times, changes it up over and over to get it right.. And when the sound tracks came back and were added to the song, they realized the vocals they had recorded didn't fit so she had to come back and do it again..

Great reaction my dude! You’re enthusiasm reminds me of my first time watching this concert and I love it! They instantly became my favorite band of all time and will stay that way. But yes, having watched the full concert I think you may be ready for Poet and The Pendulum live at Wembly (but you MUST look up the backstory and play the one with lyrics to really get the full experience) then its on to The Greatest Show On Earth at Tampere (also a good idea to familiarize yourself with the concept, and for God’s sake watch the ENTIRE thing lol, too many people stop too early and miss the finale) You should also check out The Islander live at Tampere, written and soloed by Marco. Then of course the newest album is a masterpiece (of course). And the only rules Tuomas is breaking are those of the corporate American algorithmic garbage they keep pushing on our dumbed down masses lol. And hey, if you’re looking for something else fresh to react to, definitely check out my second favorite band, Nothing More. This is the Time (Ballast) was their breakout hit and a good place to start. Then watch “Jenny” and “God Went North”. These two go together and are a real gut punch to the feels when you know the backstory. Honestly everything they have done is awesome. Killer guitar work, outstanding vocals, dynamic music, poignant lyrics, and thought provoking subject matter. You wont regret it! Looking forward to watching more of your reactions bruddah! Subbed 😎👍

Also, I love watching first time reactions to "Ghost Love Score" on other reaction channels because, no matter where the channel creator is from, the reactions are always the same, especially when she hits that killer high note at the end. Their eyes get big, their jaws drop. Some even cry! You're right -- it IS a Masterpiece!

I feel you are ready. After all the praise you have given to Tuomas, you have to react to Poet & the Pendulum (live at Wembley). Its a tough song, split into 5 parts, about the depression (and almost suicide) he went through after firing the first singer Tarja & dealing with the fan backlash as it all fell on him. Him, Emppu & Tarja were childhood friends and after she was fired Nightwish almost came to an end. Deals with some pretty heavy emotions but still an incredible song.

If you're gonna be reacting to more concerts, I'd recommend Live at Wembley Arena 2015. Watch it all the way to the credits.

Definitely react to the Tampere concert. It's from their Endless Forms Most Beautiful tour which was the first full album that had Floor, Troy, and Kai (drummer that replaced Jukka when he stepped down due to health problems) as permanent members of Nightwish.

It's not just that Tuomas writes unbelievable songs, but he also has people around him in the band who can deliver his songs perfectly, in a way they deserve. Before you react to Wembley and Tampere, and Buenos Aires concerts, you could react to High Hopes, a Pink Floyd cover, by NW in 2005. To my mind one of the best covers ever, Marko on vocals. All guys shine in that one. There's magic in the air! Or The Phantom of the Opera, Marco and Tarja (operatic voice), the original female vocalist of NW on vocals, in 2005 also I think. That one makes me smile. Something funny about that one. In a positive way. But you do as you please! Any order is fine with me.

Trying to be a little subjective here... As others have said, the documentary, "Please learn the setlist in 48 hours', (its in YT) is pretty key. Keep in mind it's mostly in Finnish with subtitles, but crucial to understanding where the band was in 2012-2013. My respect for Floor (dutch for Flower I believe) went up enormously having watched that. When they recorded Wacken, she'd been in the band 10 months, but in Buenos Aires only a couple, and the difference in GLS is big, it's more raw. She is a professional talent of the highest order. You'll have to read up the backstory on what went down with Tarja (first singer) before listening to 'Poet and Pendulum'; even 8 years after the events you can tell Tuomas is still much affected. And losing Annette in the middle of a major tour must have stressed them all enormously (which you can see in the doco). For 'The Greatest Show On Earth', Floor gonna sing some science at ya, so be prepared for that! You can find versions that include lyrics, you probable should use one of them, same for Poet. As for what else to react to, some of the studio stuff, not in a live recording (yet) might be the go: Elan (single from 'Endless Forms Most Beautiful') Noise Music (both from new album 'Human :||: Nature') ENJOY!!
@neonknight11984 жыл бұрын

great idea to do concert reactions. It's a niche, but one that can be very rewarding. There's some fantastic concert DVDs out there to check out. Nightwish concerts, of course, but also check out Pink Floyd concerts (Pulse is pure gold), Rush (Rush in Rio), Dream Theater live at Budokan, and I'm sure there's others that are well worth doing. Also, you commented about the musical complexity and breaking the rules here, you should DEFINITELY check out their newest album Human :|: Nature. It's a major step up musically and they put out amazing lyric videos for each track, well worth a journey down that rabbit hole as well.

Good, good reactions my friend like we all experienced time after time again: everything on their shows is so emotional to watch and joyful to see they have a good time together and the audience love it too. I prefer Tampere 2015 next Wembley 2015 so we do first ‘The Greatest Show on Earth’ and keep ‘The Poet and the Pendulum’ at last but not least. And finally their show in Buenos Aires, South America.

Congrats with your first concert! :D Tuomas is a Metal Mozart, and his compositions are just genius. Yes, Floor is not just exceptional singer, she is a queen of singing emotion. As I like to say, we can rank all other female singers out there all we want, but Floor lives in a totally different universe, outside of all scales, and cannot be ranked or compared at all. To experience this power of Floor on yourself, take a look at these performances: -- (Acoustic, from the new 2020 album) How's The Heart ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/r4rXnIOme76thdE ) -- Shallow @ Beste Zangers 2019 ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/g2eboZhqlsRssM0 ) -- Mama @ Beste Zangers 2019 ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/qZuUmpWQp8-EitU ) Today's tracklist was: -- Ghost Love Score (Tarja era) -- Song Of Myself (Anette era) -- Last Ride Of The Day (Anette era) As for the next Nightwish experience, I recommend going to Endless Forms Most Beautiful album (2015, first album with Floor), starting with the song (live of course) Shudder Before The Beautiful @ Wembley ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/baC0aaaEiL6Lo7M ) And there are number of bands that you should totally check out if you love powerful and beautiful female vocals in Metal: (without any particular order) Delain -- Dutch -- singer is Charlotte -- Masters Of Destiny ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/pIWUZaCiq55lqpY ) Within Temptation -- Dutch -- singer is Sharon -- Stand My Ground ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z3ukhn6OjNGAaKc ) Epica -- Dutch -- singer is Simone -- Sancta Terra featuring Floor ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/mamVY4yrn5ehsMk ) Unleash The Archers -- Canadian -- singer is Brittney -- Awakening ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/naK4gXqXZpqCqtE )

Oh yes, I forgot, so good you mentioned it at the end. The one song is called The Poet and the Pendulum.
