How does being a Sniper in a re-enactment work? Cause you use blanks.
@thedoctor7559 ай бұрын
You have to have a system where referees keep an eye on snipers, maybe radio to opposing refs who he is shooting at. Most of the time reenactment battles are not conducive to sniper action.

Basically we get into units, and at tactical events, it's a wargame. Hits are made with the honor system. Public battles are usually scripted, and usually just a big "monster truck" type deal in a small open area for the public to see guys & vehicles running around.

Honestly, I wonder if there's some way you guys could use something like Simunition with your WW2 reenactment battles? That would be sick as hell, to have real sounds along with paintballs for fair combat! Far more realistic that way too! Even if you have to use other rifles that are compatible with Simunition (AR15 etc), but placing rules on mag capacity to match the weapon that you are supposed to be using (8 for M1, 5 for K98, etc), that would still be really awesome.

6:29 private, you settled in a very precarious position (the middle of an open area) while wearing a non-camouflage uniform. I skimmed a ww2 infantry field manual video and the muscle memory of what to do when enemy shots were fired is to close in on the nearest brush or tree line even if it’s occupied by the enemy. I rather take my chances in close combat rather than getting sniped in the open. Open field is a no no in a rifle firefight, unless you’re bombarded by artillery fire or suppressed by a machine gun.
