Additionally, you can see Egwene's dress, just before Nynaeve pushes her, has some very faded colors mixed in with the blue. So I agree, I think the 'emerging from the pool' scene happens BEFORE she gets pushed off.

TBH Moiraine doing the spinny dancey moves at the end of the trailer with the one power during winternight reminds me of her test for the shawl in new spring, when she starts doing a dance that takes her around in a circle so she can stay calm while attacking some hordes that have her surrounded

Acauctly Mat did dice before leaving Emond's Field. He reminisces about how his father beat him for losing a silver penny to the traders. White is the color of mourning in WoT. Some of the descriptions in the book mentions that Moraine not only uses hand gestures but also a switch (in the Mountains of Mist), and a staff in Eye of the World. There are other references. Nynaeve uses herbs. It does mention several times where it is mentioned that the ladies split their skirts into riding dress. Faile wears a narrow skirt divided for riding. *sigh* Gosh people, read the damn books!

About Egwene's water scenes, One theory I like about it is that the white tower has more worldly influence than the books. Where traditions have a white tower link, even if the villagers don't know why anymore... I look forward to seeing their dialogue/explanation in the show!

I am not excited about this type of change, only because this was an area “forgotten by the world”. If the White Tower has this much influence in the Women’s Circle (a la Matriarchy society because the men blew up the world), that is a MAJOR departure from the world in the books. After all, by the time of the books, the breaking was almost a myth… Hawkwing and the 10 nations before him played more of a role in day to day history than the age of legends-It was “legendary”, after all.

@@Agretonneevosaiden I disagree. It’s why when the villagers realized after the attack that Moraine was Aei Sedai that a dragon tooth was drawn on the inn’s door. Further, the Aei Sedai were shocked at all the “sparks” found there… there obviously had not been contact in generations. Even the Queen who had jurisdiction had not had a presence in the area in a long long time… this was a forgotten part of civilization, intentionally I think (by either the pattern or Jordan, your choice).

actually I think in the shot from above with the arrows, liandrin and kerene are absent. The three reds look like the three others from the shot where you can see four red sisters. And it happens at the same time as liandrin and kerene are with logain in the cave - where you can see moraine later as well and she is also absent in the arrow-shot, where lan protects nynaeve. So I think that would give a point to the idea that the arrow-attack comes from logains followers that are trying to free him.

The people of Randland wear white (not black) to signify mourning, except the Aes Sedai of the White Ajah who wear black ribbons. Also when you look at the size difference between the white tower and the rest of of the city, the scaling is HUGE. The White may not be tall and narrow like the books but it is very tall and very PHAT 🤣

I absolutely think the island of Tar Valon is keeping it's shape. The shot with dragonmount in the background shows the island tapering as it moves to the left of the screen (toward North Harbor) that second shot is actually looking toward South Harbor. You can tell because the Ogier Grove is right where it's supposed to be on the eastern side of the island. The south part of the island is wider than the north. I'm not convinced at all that the shape has changed.

Ok, what about this: following the natural progression of aging the EF5, what if their ta'veren-ness has just started to kick in, like say a couple months before Winter Night. Perrin beginning to have wolf shenanigans, Mat has been winning more often than not when gambling at the Inn, and I guess Rand has already begun to subconsciously touch the source, or curveball: Tam has recently started teaching Rand the basics of handling a blade, like the little teeny bit that Lan was able to in the first book up until they split up, so it's not like Rand is actually comfortable with handling a blade, and obviously he still has absolutely no combat or practical experience, but it's still enough to make him stand-up and fast track progression a little (I'm expecting things to move at a pretty strong pace in later seasons so I wouldn't be surprised if they wanted to set some things up a little earlier to allow room for some better use of screen time). These are all things could have happened only a few times, but it's enough to get the boys talking and primed to run off once Moiraine finally shows up. I'm pretty sure RJ explicitly stated that Egwene is not some sort of secret ta'veren, but I wouldn't be surprised if they just said fuck it and made her one anyway, so at this time her Dreaming would be firing up alongside the boys. And Nynaeve is Nynaeve, I imagine a couple extra years in the Two Rivers would leave her pretty much unchanged, and she's not even some sort of "secret ta'veren" like Egwene. She's pretty much just a super duper wildling in comparison.

Oh, following this, one thing I would LOVE is if they amp up Perrins affinity for the wolf dream... only enough so it gives himself something in common with Egwene, I always liked their dynamic. It would just help to tie them all together throughout the series, so it doesn't feel like The Boys (and also Egwene) but more like The Gang (feat. Nynaeve). It would be pretty cool to see Perrin and Egwene have just a simple non-romantic/non-sexual boy/girl friendship. Once the cast list grows and things start to get messier it would make for some entertaining interactions once Perrin finally accepts the wolf dream and Egwene goes full dreamwalker

I think this won't work. You're getting their taveren-ness wrong, except for Mat's luck. Perrin's Taveren powers manifests in the people around him wanting to improve themselves whether in craft or in fighting. This is demonstrated in the prosperity of Two Rivers after the battle there, and in the tinker guy, even as early as the EF5 wanting to train under Lan and Moiraine. And Rand's Taveren powers is the ability to bind and separate fate- which is manifested in people spontaneously getting married or dying randomly wherever he goes- his blade training or his channeling has nothing to do with taveren. Imagine being in a village where both these very strong effects are happening, even for a short while, people will notice, and it would make for a very different two rivers

@@daze4135 well alright, maybe "ta'veren-ness" was the wrong choice of words, but you get what I mean. *Something* is starting to happen to them, and you're right in that the things I mentioned aren't literally the effects of the Pattern adjusting itself around you etc, but really, don't they have those abilities *because* they're ta'veren? It would be pretty hard for them to do what the Wheel requires of them without them. And don't forget, the strength of a ta'verens pull on the world around them is not constant, it waxes and wanes. Someone can even be temporarily ta'veren, or it stops once the Wheel doesn't need them anymore (correct me if I'm wrong here but I'm fairly certain that is at least speculated in the books). I'm not talking about oh suddenly villagers have been miraculously surviving fatal injuries or all the usual ta'veren twists of chance etc. Just s little hint at what they'll be capable of later on. Rand already stands out just by his appearance, if they really want to keep the identity of the Dragon a mystery then I think having them ALL have something going on serves as a better red herring than just "these three boys were all born within months of each other". And it gives non-book readers something juicy to speculate over. Actually, now that I think about it, didn't Mats luck only begin after he got healed? It's been a long time since I read Great Hunt but I only remember Horn shenanigans

About the shape of the island of Tar Valon: if you look closely from the picture that shows it from above, you can make out the city walls being a bit curvy. I think that the walls and the island match the shape of seven spoke wheel/star that is the ornament on top of Amyrlin's seat seen in a different shot.

There is a Red on the left as well when she comes out of the water, I saw it somewhere where they had it cleaned up enough that it was very clear, this is more then likely her accepted test, possibly the whole sequence, or maybe its a dream sequence to show off her "dreaming" talent. The colors would look cheesy imo, this may look a bit generic, but its the better decision, the show does not need the same complexity. Simple visuals will work best. Speaking of which you can see dark flows as well as white in the Logain chanelling pics, we can see his taint :) I don't think anyone argues how it happens in the books, but I hope at least that the show builds the relationship for Lan and Nynaeve more then the books did. I am willing to bet they will show lots of chemistry building from the start and be far less subtle.

I don't know why pronounciations are such an issue. Robert Jordan put a name key at the end of the books, breaking down exactly how he wants the names to be pronounced. If you can read English, it shouldn't be such problem. My friend has problems with the names big time, every time we discuss the books, I have to ask who he's talking about? lol

1) If you look closely at the front of Egwene's dress at the top of the cliff in the first shot you can see different streaks of color as if she already went through the paint ceremony bit before coming to the cliff. I was hoping it was a prophetic dream but this seems to point to more of a Women's Circle or Wisdom ceremonial step. 2) Also, the scene with Logain you can see Kerene get flung headfirst into the stone pillar. In the later scene where Stepin is flying through the air with the double axes you can see the crumpled form of Kerene on the ground at the feet of the other Aes Sedai. 3) If you step through the frames of the scene at the Waygate you can see Moiraine holding the leads for Aldieb, then the larger figure and then 2 smaller figures revealed in between the heads of the foreground riders as the scene shifts. So I think it's clear that Moiraine, Loial, Egwene and Perrin are waiting at the gate. Can't wait for the longer trailer. This already feels fantastic! Thanks for the great video breakdown!

The water as Egwene emerges from the pool is very calm, whereas in the river it is swiftly flowing. Going down the river I believe we are seeing Egwene learn that she cannot struggle, she has to "surrender". In the overhead shot she is thrashing, in the side shot she has relaxed and is going with the flow. We might get away with that as foreshadowing, but if this is an intended consequence of a Wisdom Initiation how did Nyneave make it through?

Not all Wisdoms can channel, or even touch the source at all, I imagine the "Wisdom Ceremony" to be just that, but they could be using it to compare/contrast with the Flame and the Void, how the mental technique exists independently of channeling, and yet it's also how the source can be accessed. But just because you know the technique, that doesn't mean you'll just suddenly be a full-blown capital C Channeler, it still took Rand until he found Asmodean for a teacher (I think) to actually finally comfortably and consistently channel at will/command Saidin

Well, the threads should be visible to the channelers only, so I think the best way to handle this would have been to show some really brief flashes of what the channeler is seeing (with truly complex and intricate weaving of five powers) and then just cut to the usual point of view with the final result: lightnings, fireballs or whatever.

Great breakdown, have to agree with most of your analysis, seems spot-on. I do keep hearing you say a lot of people don't like certain things, I think this may be a vocal minority who are willing to just complain about anything. Seems like most of the fans are absolutely loving the look, although all of us will have a small bit of heartbreak about certain things that we're dear to us in the books that just won't make it in, or won't look the way we imagined. Want to give a kudos and cheers to all the reasonable people in the world who are willing to understand that not everything turn out just like we like, and feel happy that we get such a thoughtful adaptation.

26:23 they are facing the seat but i don't think anyone is sitting in it. you can see leane off to the side on the right and i think she is still announcing or has just finished, and remember that the amyrlin cannot enter the hall without first being announced by her keeper by tower law. i think the hall is standing much like in a court room you stand before the judge enters and sit when the judge says sit.

The scene with Lan protecting Nyneave you can see what appears to be Mardarb and Aldieb in the background, with someone sitting on Aldieb- which makes sense why Moriaine could have been injured. Perhaps the arrow that hits her comes from a different direction while Lan is distracted.

I have a theory that they are going to combine Elyas with Steppin. I think that Steppin is already in contact with wolves and after his Aes Sedai dies he runs off to them. He runs into Perrin and Egwene and guides them to safety. During their trip they find the tinkers, Perrin meets the wolves, and when they part ways Steppin gives Perrin one of the axes. There has not been any photos that I have seen that pictures Perrin with an axe before Shadar Logoth and this could explain why.

42:48 i can tell from the arc of the bow that it isn't a longbow. a properly fitted longbow is as tall or more commonly a foot taller than the man pulling the string. if that were a longbow in that image the parts of the stave we see would be basically straight, because a longbow (at least the most common english reflex deflex longbow) goes straight in the middle when you draw.

Any ideas why Moiraine isn’t in the arrow scene at 17:00? Lan is protecting Nyneave in the foreground and Aldieb is in the background, but no Moiraine. Also that appears to be the same scene as the dragonsworn attacking later in the video, so assuming the arrows are coming from Logan’s men??

I really think the scene where she emerges from the pool comes before she’s pushed off the ledge. If you look at her dress as she’s pushed there appear to be multiple colored stains all over the dress. As if the pool ceremony has happened and the dress has had time to dry before she’s pushed.

Riding towards the candi-bentar style Waygate from left-to-right is Mat, Rand, Nynaeve, Lan, in the background from left-to-right is Perrin, Egwene, ?🤔?, Loial, Moiraine; the mystery figure standing next to Loial, and Moiraine are the two that are not mounted. I watched Geeky Eri's block 3 video again and learned a good deal of information using what I've seen from the trailer but I still don't know who that mystery figure is, I do know the people it cannot be; so that helps narrow it down a smidge with the process of elimination.

I think the Egwene seen is foreshadowing her becoming Amyrlin. Water is typically used to signify rebirth or some type of ascendance, then you see all of the colors on the surface of the different ahjahs envelope her. The Amyrlin represents all ajah

17:54 about a quarter way through the eye of the world we get some exchanges that show lan's respect for nyn, and her response to being respected, when she catches up to them in baerlon. we get further signs after shadar logoth, when he once again gives respect for her talents and abilities, even he is surprised when she walks up. and of course as is about to be talked about at that time stamp he tells her that he will not gift his bride mourning clothes (did he use sack cloth and ashes? i can't remember, either way probably the most romantic crap in the whole series in that scene looking on broken malkier). those aren't the exact words but that is the sentiment, they are already in love from afar by then.

I totally could not see the boots. I even brought it into Photoshop and opened the shadows, still no boots. Then I took it into Lightroom and really dug into it. There are definitely 2 people standing behind Egwene in a rock rimmed pool, one is a red or brown and the other is a blue or green. I'm leaning toward it being a part of her Accepted test, maybe they changed the form of the ter'angreal? Having everyone walking through rings and doorways could get boring on tv. But I still don't think those are boots. I think they are smaller rocks on the knee-high rim of the pool. Mainly because they look like dusty potatoes and Moraine would never let her boots look like dusty potatoes

Scientifically, visible daylight coming from the sun looks white, but when it passes through a prism it is refracted (bent) and shows all the different colors of the spectrum. Like a rainbow. Maybe they will have a 3D version of the show where we could see them channeling in different colors? That would be cool, but probably too complicated and expensive for the production. Notice too in the arrow scene, all the Aes Sedai appear to be linked.

One thing is certain, we are all very curious about the scenes that the first glimpses of Egwene and Nynaeve represent. We are anxiously waiting to see for sure what that is. We have known for awhile they will make changes, we have to get used to that. Though the idea of certain scenes not making screen is kinda dissapointing. As long as the story is told well, and the actors all are believeable, that is important. I had not noticed the boots and cape behind Egwene in that water scene, so you got me there! Most of my viewings of the trailer have been on my computer and tablet and they do seem to give much darker scenes than when I watch the trailer on my tv on Amazon. I can barely see the SL scenes on my computer and tablet. Glad I will not be watching the shows on these devises. As much as I want to see Lioal in trailers, I think meeting him on screen will be better, just like first meeting him in the books, even though all indications point to that meeting on screen being different than the books. All still exciting to see the story come to the screen. Remember, this is being brought to us by another fan! No movie or tv show tells the story the way the books do. It's impossible. This is going to look great.

It's most likely a Women's Circle initiation thing. • Hair is unbraided • Wearing blue dress • When pushed off the cliff, is wearing same dress, with stains from the colors on the water. I first believed it to be Four Kings or whatever, but they wear exactly the same clothing as in those shots of them the Winespring Inn. Exactly. Could be a coincidence. It makes sense for them to switch clothing and wear the same pair after a while. But still It could be that the myrrdraal (in the background?) went straight after them, which shows that the DO wants them boys real bad, and ignores most villagers for them boyz. What do you think?
