I feel bad for japanese men every time I see Cathy's interviews. Many young japanese girls have harsh opinions on japanese males,; and they tend to admire foreigners for some reason. Might be because of how they're portrayed in the media
@unclesheogorath19606 жыл бұрын
It might be because of the fact more and more men in Japan are choosing to look and act more effeminate (Not saying all their men are doing this, but it's starting to get worse). Most straight women don't want to date a man who may as well be another woman.
@unclesheogorath19606 жыл бұрын
@Percival Hans I've tried soy products before. They always taste like crap. Set critters on fire, for their meat is delicious. *The cute ones deserve it* On a side note, I don't think soy products have anything to do with this pandemic. After all, eastern Asians have been eating soy products for a long time now and this problem is only very recent (within the last 50 years or so). The real problem is libertarianism and the "progressive left mentality." Let's face it, effeminate-acting and gay men hundreds of years did *not* get access to women to have offspring and in most cases were straight up murdered for their behavior. But now? Now they're being empowered, are allowed to adopt children, to be allowed to spread their mentality to other young people who don't know any better. Honestly, a culling should be performed.

@GenerationNextNextNext6 жыл бұрын
@@unclesheogorath1960 This sounds like an American problem. Japan is still largely conservative. Japanese men have always worn makeup since the era of the Samurai. That couldn't be the problem. I think the women have very high standards, and with the tank in the economy, men can't easily get those high paying jobs they used to be able to get. The preference to be more effeminate doesn't just come out of nowhere. There's a reason.
@kipperjd5 жыл бұрын
Something that I’ve noticed is how women generally wouldn’t mind dating a foreigner because men usually are more open about how they feel and express it. They want more than just quietly being with someone. Men in the other hand say that foreign women are aggressive and they would prefer someone more quiet. Just noticed that despite usually dating inside their own race and culture, they both want completely different things. (Wonder why it’s so crazy to some of these men that women are more than just being conservative and not expressing their opinions 🤔🤔) Of course these are only based off the multiple videos of these interviews that I just binged so I’m not trying to “all men” or something, don’t get me wrong.

Yeah I always see this kind of answer in Japanese interviews related to stuff like their ideal partner. I feel like the issue is stereotyping foreigners (women idealizing foreign men, whilst men seeing them as loud and too agressive) and not enough communication/knowledge between the two genders it seems. I don't wanna jump to conclusions, but I feel like this is one of the reasons a lot of Japanese people are so lonely. They can't even find desire in their own people sometimes.

Who doesnt care about their own culture? If you get into an inter racial marriage especially with something like marrying a foreigner, you would expect one of them to adapt to the others culture, these marriages dont last long unless the other person can adapt and since a lot of westerners (brits like myself) are used to multi culturalism, it's a lot easier to adapt to another culture. I could probably live in japan and adapt to the culture pretty quickly if i ever decided to live there, i cannot imagine it would be as easy for a japanese native to move to my country (scotland). Then again it probably helps i watch channels like this haha

This may not be the same, but I'm going to explain, anyway. My husband grew up more in the country, while I grew up more in the city. I would love to marry a Japanese girl, they are very beautiful and kind. Some of my male Japanese friends say that Japanese girls tend to pretend they are dumb, but most of my female Japanese friends are really smart, so that is another thing I admire about them. And most Japanese girls I have talked to seem to seek like a romantic life, and I kind of like the idea of being adventurous and doing a lot of stuff together and being romantic, if it makes them happy. But I do agree with the one girl in the video: unless you are in Japan, it is kind of difficult to get to know one another, even if you talk to each other for awhile.

Have you live in Japan? Girls pretend a lot in here, have your female Japanese friends ever lived abroad? Japanese girls can be a little naive. Foreign guys approach you with confidence because they know they can get what they want. Go to any bar frequented by foreigners and you can see the confidence oozing from the guys. Guys who, to put it bluntly, wouldn't get a glance from a girl in their own countries. Based on my experiences in Japan, knowing both foreign guys and Japanese girls in relationships with foreign guys, i'd guess that the number of girls that are cheated on whilst in international relationships is above average. Either way, given the small number of Japanese people that actually marry foreign people, compared to the number that have dated one... there must be a change of attitude somewhere down the line. I know more Japanese girls that have married Japanese guys after dating a foreigner than I do girls who've gone on to marry their foreign boyfriends. No matter what they say when asked about it, there's still stigma involved with international marriages in Japan. I'm a foreign guy, in a long-term relationship with a Japanese girl who has a daughter. After a few years together I think of my gf's daughter as my own, but for the first couple of years or so of our relationship I didn't go to any of my girlfriend's daughter's school events because if other kids or their parents found out then she'd likely have been bullied, and the way that the parents and even school staff speak about you is no better. I was just my girlfriend's "English teacher" for a long time, certainly before we properly moved in together. Nowadays most people know about us in our area, and we've weathered the worst of the storm, but there are people we used to consider friends who we no longer speak to. There is very obviously still a huge portion of Japanese society that struggles with the concept of international marriages, more so than videos like this lead you to believe. For a foreigner, getting into a relationship is very easy, but when it actually comes down to it I feel that most Japanese people would rather marry another Japanese person. With that in mind, you have to question the motives for the relationship.

The bread thing was really funny to me! In Puerto Rico (like in many countries) it is very common to eat bread everyday or add it to any meal like rice, meats, pasta, etc. When hurricane María hit us I remember the first major panicking people had was that bread ran out quickly and bakeries couldn't recover in time for people to buy more! Sure, later people adapted to what was available but you could see the misery people were in (myself included). People would wake up at 3am to make lines in the bakeries and the bread would be sold out by 7am x"D In fact, gonna have a tuna sandwich right now lol Sorry for any English mistakes I speak Spanish. Also sorry for the long comment, felt like sharing my story even though it will get lost in the comments haha

It is interesting how typically the women replied yes and the men replied no. It seems to be indicative of the preferences of each gender, as well as their image of the ideal partner. The women seem open to wanting a strong and masculine partner (a very universal thing) whereas the men seem frightened at the idea of a strong-willed or independent woman as their partner. I understand in Japan the men (and women) can be quite shy in these matters, and so they prefer women who make them feel more manly and powerful in that regard - in which case it is easy to see how a foreign woman could intimidate them. It is a shame, however. Would be nice to see more Japanese men with open minds.

The part that I think is a bit crazy is that there seems to be this assumption that it is proper for people visiting from another culture, then know about and behave as if they were raised in the culture they are often encountering for the first time. To me, one of the beautiful things about humanity is the differences. There is not one way that is correct and all other ways are incorrect. I think the understanding of cultural differences flows in both directions. So someone visiting another culture should put out some effort to learn the basic customs but expecting them to know it all is unreasonable. At the same time, the people from the country being visited should EXPECT that the visitors will have their own cultural norms and behaviors and not expect them to have mastered another culture for use in a two week long vacation. But as with most things.... humans are quite irrational and unreasonable and will seek to find a reason to criticize others at any opportunity.
