Struggle is necessary to achieve anything of value in this world. This is as true for psychological intangibles as it is for material resources. Wrestling with the angel is necessary to secure a life worth living. In this episode, I discuss how we pay the cost of anything by letting go of what is antithetical to that something. This cannot be cheated. However, expensive though it may be, it is worth it. Ultimately, you have to fight for your life. Fuck no. Hardness don't insuflate meaning, you conflate, it's just that good things are hard to reach sometimes and meaning is the fuel of the mind to bite the struggle and romanticize it and feed off the perceived acquired power through the journey. BUT senseless hardness, like modern enslaving, is pure suffering. Hardness is but the natural problem that sense mediates, NOT the bestower of sense, that's brainwashing of slave-minded people that are fatalistically stuck, therefore it acts as the sense, copium, just like any propaganda as long as you believe in it for a lack of knowing better.

100% correct. And I'll tell you, this episode's message isn't even Psychology, it's just reality. I learned this in my early 20's. "Anything of Value is neither free, cheap, nor easy." People who can internalize this and live it, who embrace the Struggle, who're excited by the challenge (aka difficulty), who have faith in the outcome w/o expecting a guarantee, are the Winners. The top 10% in anything and everything, got there because 90% of everyone else can't do it and that's a fact.

You must constantly dive yourself into the lake of discomfort in order to rise and come out as a better and stronger version of yourself
@msc8382
@msc8382 Ай бұрын
That’s just what people say when they don’t know how to plan or adapt to challenges. Discomfort often comes from unpredictable things caused by others-but that only stays unpredictable if you fail to learn from it. Real strength doesn’t come from pain or discomfort. It comes from facing the truth, even when it’s uncomfortable at first. At the start, you lack the skills and wisdom to deal with unexpected problems, but as you grow, you learn. You adapt. You create habits that make handling challenges second nature. Eventually, discomfort fades, replaced by routine. The real danger isn’t other people-it’s an individual who’s willing to question their own beliefs to uncover the truth. That takes courage. True strength shows up when you take that discomfort and turn it into opportunities. It’s about leadership, compassion, and even a few white lies to help others. When you adapt, the discomfort you feel is nothing compared to what others experience because they didn’t grow the way you did. That’s where strength lies: in growth, not suffering.
@Boborion4

Action is what makes a person stronger than before. This must have a stimulating action in order to start the process. Someone can accept many truths and philosophize for all the bad things in his life but he certainly needs to start acting towards this. The stimulus for action in this situation is discomfort and doubt. You can't grow without them.

No pain, no gain. Lift weights; muscles get sore. Study hard; headache and sleepiness. Get rejected by girls; ego gets bruised. Turned down for a job; face uncertainty about the future. Then you do those things again, and again, and again. Your muscles hardly ever get sore and you're lifting many times your original weight. Talking to girls is no big deal even if they're not interested in you. You have a job you're happy with and concrete plans to advance in your career.

One of your best videos yet. Moral psychology has a central place in the human experience, in every place and time and situation. We are blessed with so many free given miracles every moment of our lives yet we are also fighting blind sighted by our fanthoms from within and from the external others. But if we take care of our inner craziness, our neurotic and borderline craziness we will prevail. And for this to go further we need psychoanalysis intervention and the cure of our weak and twisted souls. Wish the utuber would recommend such things for people will lose precious time and epics and opportunities trying just the moral way. I salute you from México. I have lost the fanthoms just enough to say this with the authority that it gives me. If you have ears listen.

Dr. Taraban’s explanation in this video beautifully captures the shared essence of the Abrahamic religions. These teachings strive to convey a profound message to humanity: that a universal justice by the Creator exists, and to attain true life, one must confront and purify the imperfections that come with living. This journey involves grappling with the events and trials of everyday life until one reaches the gates of divine blessing. To truly enter, it requires complete surrender and ultimate love for the divine. Thank you, Dr. Taraban-your insights deeply resonate with my current circumstances.

this reminds me of the poem "The Man Watching" by Rainer Maria Rilke "When we win it's with small things, and the triumph itself makes us small. What is extraordinary and eternal does not want to be bent by us. I mean the Angel who appeared to the wrestlers of the Old Testament: when the wrestlers' sinews grew long like metal strings, he felt them under his fingers like chords of deep music. Whoever was beaten by this Angel (who often simply declined the fight) went away proud and strengthened and great from that harsh hand, that kneaded him as if to change his shape. Winning does not tempt that man. This is how he grows: by being defeated, decisively, by constantly greater beings."

I had many addictions in my life and the hardest to shed was smoking. I finally shed it 7 years ago but with the price of COPD. Best thing I ever did, now I pray to the Angel of strength and forgiveness to help me through with the best health I can muster.

Great piece, totally agree with the Doctor. One nice thing about dating and relationships is you can earn it all on merit and do it with all your own work.

Great video!! Perfect length. On point message. Use of biblical and secular references. At a meta level great message. I equate this to Marsha Linehan’s metaphor of the fiery ladder. Or 12 step. The struggle of getting out of the basement of whatever issue we are dealing with is a struggle and visualization or the fall to failure is motivating to climb that fiery ladder. Or struggle with the angle for the blessing of ascending beyond out limitations. I hope more people explore 12 step programs because of this video.

When I red that fight between Jacob and the angel I was very surprised! The popular idea of an angel is almost opposite, so at the beginning I wasn't able to digest the fight paradox. Now it makes more sense and also I like your interpretation on it. Valuable things are not on demand, and sometimes are so difficult to obtain that -some days like today- seem impossible to reach. I'll take your words as energy for the wrestling. Thanks.
