Smackdown was so epic back then. I always set up the family VCR to tape it every week and put up a little sign saying what it was set for, just in case someone was thinking of watching a movie. I didn't want to miss it, even if I was busy.

I live next county over from where he's mayor and saw him at my gym early in the morning a few days ago. I was going for a machine but he got there first; he didn't cut me off or anything, he couldn't have even seen me from where I was walking from so it wasn't malicious in any way. I was joking with my friends after that, upon noticing how frighteningly large he is, how frighteningly large...I decided to concede the machine to him without a fight. He was kind of a visiting dignitary, I guess... I was going to try and get a pic with him but he was gone before I could get back to where he was.

I moved to the US in August of 1999 and a friend of mine who was already living here told me to watch WWF so I did and i got addicted to it for about 3 years. Re watching these episodes brings back a lot of memories because I remember these main event matches like they happened yesterday. Another thing is that it is as entertaining now as it was even back then when I was 12 years old. Wrestling was so awesome back then

@@jarlwhiterun7478Mick is definitely the guy I found the most appreciation for while watching all this back. He gives 100% every single time and he’s probably the most versatile guy on the roster while also being the most willing to do it. His promos are up there with Rock and Stone cold but mick never had to repeat himself and his catch phrases. Plus unlike those 2 I’m sure he could have turned heel and made it work during this time. If WWF needed someone to be made into a star they would Call Foley up and he would make that guy a star. Examples include Triple H, rock, stone cold, and little out of time period but he totally made Edge and Randy Orton stars as well.

I never understood what the WWF was doing with Chyna at during this point. She's basically Trips' manager (heel) but fighting Jeff Jarrett (face). I wonder if this is why they rushed the Stephaine-HHH storyline because up until that point, he had zero interactions with Stephaine. It just seemed pretty confusing with Chyna being a face and heel on the same show.

What an episode of SmackDown!.. You've got 7 main eventers tied into each others storylines (Kane, HHH, Taker, Show, Mankind, Rock, Stone Cold).. It's totally insane how many World Champions you had at the top that could have the belt at any point.. Then on top of that, a buried alive match on free tv... The fans in attendance got one helluva show.. Then Jarret hitting Moolah with the guitar.. Then Austin driving the truck into the ambulance.. What an insane episode of SmackDown!.. Just amazing.

I remember going to this show. Sat 7th row behind the commentary desk. The things I remembered most from this show going in was Bulldogs return. Moolah and Mae making thier first appearance as a duo on TV and Big Show tossing Foley in the grave. Not on tv that I remember is taking a long time to get home because a chemical truck had spilled over on the NYS Thruway and the road was shut down while they cleaned it up.

I remember this episode. At the time I thought The Bulldog's just winning a belt and giving it to a mentally ill man who clearly needed it worse than he did was a total Chad move. He didn't even care about the belt he just thought The Big Bossman was a tosser.
