Is this the strongest wrist free power yoga practice yet? If you want to work hard, challenge your limits, and grow your strength this flow is you. Lots of options are offered in the poses:
✅ No weight bearing in the hands or wrists
✅ No weight bearing in the arms at all
In this fun, lighthearted, but seriously strong flow we’ll work on:
✅ Leg strength in standing balances
✅ Standing splits
✅ Split squats (options to work on pistol squats)
✅ Progressions of standing poses and balances with binds (catching hands behind the legs)
✅ Closing hip stretches and cool down
✅ Well deserved shavasana
NOT Suitable for beginners. Suitable for:
- Wrist injury
- Elbow injury
- Hand injury
- Shoulder injury*
* if you have frozen shoulder or can’t lift your arms over head please adapt the arm positions in a way that doesn’t cause you pain or discomfort

James has saved me!!!! Thank you for seeing the strength in those of us who are healing! I’ve been struggling with wrist and hand pain, but my yoga practice has always been strong. It was so discouraging searching for yoga for arthritic hands just to see the yoga instructor sitting on a chair and leading a 15 min meditation. I need something to make me work! And James does just that. Keep pushing me James! Keep seeing the strength in us and working us hard. We area still strong even if our hands are not. and we need you to help us maintain and grow that strength even if we can’t use our hands. Thanks for believing in us, your wrist free worriers.

James, what a wonderful wrist free practice. Being in my later 70’s I wasn’t sure if I could get through it. However with your different options with many of the more challenging poses, I was able to satisfactorily complete this flow. Yes, I have done your videos before and have loved all of them. Thank you for being so generous by posting these amazing practices on KZbin. Here in Canada we have enjoyed all the Coronation celebrations yesterday. Such history. ❤️🙏

I'm an artist with perpetual wrist and elbow issues, and these wrist free flows of yours are a godsend. I was used to pretty powerful practices back when my wrists were healthy, and most wrist free classes I've found are fairly tame. Yours are strong and flow beautifully, and I look forward to them every day! And keep making me laugh :)

Hello, James ! I have done all of your hands free videos many times since pulling out my back. I am 68 and able to do all but the most advanced pistol squats and binds in flying postures. I am so thrilled to be able to enjoy flows and you are so positive .Thank you!! I was a bit confused whether my back foot was to be flat on the floor in low lunges or toes bent as yiu did flatvon keft and curved on right sides. I am nit being critical. I tried it both ways!! Just asking. I love your word pictures with Chanel lady and rich, necklace showing lady too. I hope you will post new videos. You are an outstanding teacher. Nanaste from the USA.

Woah that’s fab! Love that you are so strong in these practices! That’s inspiring for so many others. In the low lunges, for me it depends on how my knee is feeling. Some people find tucking the toes makes the knee more comfortable. There’s a slight difference in activation if the toes are untucked and you push the top of that foot into the ground, it really stretches the front hip! But toes tucked often feels more stable for people. I’’d say see which feels good to you and work that way though!

OMG I am so relaxed after this practice... I usually put on backgrounds sounds but between your calming voice and the rain outside my window I forgot to turn on haha... This is great, I was really enjoying it, until my device locked up and wouldn't progress. It was during the last standing sequence, warrior 3, I said to you, are you taking a nap, looked at the tv and it was loading, haha. I never could get it to move, I'll try again soon. I have doing self guided yoga, while I had covid, then there were family members staying in my yoga room for a couple weeks, so not bad, for having not done one of your videos for about a month.

Thisi is my first class with you and I am delighted, you mixed everything up here from dynamic flow, streching and twisting...and most of the class was in standing poses. Very interesting way of moving and something new I learnt. I was enjoying!

Oh wow, this was tough! A really strong sequence. I think I need a couple of runs thru so that I can flow through smoothly. A really good challenge, which is probably what I need…. I can be bit lazy!

This is another great and challenging practice. Kept me on my toes (literally🙂) and my mind focused. Thank you! The bound half moon was frustrating for me. I don't get this pose. Could you provide some micro details, please? I find them very helpful.

Heya Anne, oh bound half moon is so tough! So first you have to get a really comfortable bind from prayer twist, the shoulder needs to be right across and outside the knee. If you have the bind, i recommend gripping the fingers lightly (rather than trying to get further up the hand or wrist as it makes the pose feel too tight. Step the back foot in closer before you lift the back leg up. My top tip for balances is to go slow, and root into the outside three toes of the foot (pinky toe side) as its easier to stop falling over from that side of the foot. Let me know how you get on!

Thanks for your help. This time, I could hold the bound half moon one side for about 2 milliseconds...😊it is a process. Next time I will start the practice with a "trust myself " - meditation. See if that makes a difference ...

Did this sequence 5 days in a row. The plan is to do a new routine every week, with 2 rest days. This is day 2 of my rest days and I am still in pain. Is this normal?

Hey Olamide, I'd say if it's pain as in sharp, stabbing or strong pain in a specific area then no we should never experience that. If that's the case, I'd reduce the number of sessions and work mindfully with that area, learning what movements aggravate it. If it's the soreness / discomfort of muscles you get after a strong workout, then that's quite normal and usually goes away with time as your body adapts to new movements. I'd definitely keep your 2 rest days in this case, or maybe drop to 3 rest days for a couple of weeks until your body builds up the capacity for more 😊
