You should try sonax ex04-06, its almost same polish but its much easier to work with DA machine and get better results. Perfect finish is rotary based polish and it has different working time and capability to finish.

interesting, priming makes sense to me, the thing i dont understand(even though i have it) is a grid guard, if you dont dunk the wash mitt all the way to the bottom what is the point, anyway i love the series.

Regarding priming the pad at the beginning, it looked like you were priming it as if it was a microfiber pad where you butter it all over. With the foam pads I've seen the Rupes guys say to apply about 4-5 dots, run it on the panel for 30 seconds (as shown) then apply just two dots from there.

I've used yellow pad on my red mini with sonax, only removed 50% , I switched to a meguires cutting pads with sonax , it's amazing the difference in results. Great video as always , I'm looking forward to seeing videos where the paint is much more challenging and what technique you use.

My combo for Subaru paint was Rupes Yellow Pad and Polish. Surprisingly easy to clean up even after a medium grade nanoscrub marring session during decon. I imagine it would have been a lot easier with perfect finish but its so hard to get 1 here where i live back early 2018. Enjoying the series! Keep it coming.

I understand this was only a test section, but jeez I can't see myself EVER doing a 10"x14" section at a time. I'm probably rushing it, but I do a door, a fender, a quarter, half the roof, half the deck lid, half the hood at a time with 4 drops on a yellow Rupes pad. Great series here!

It's great to deal with soft paint if you correcting it but its way worse to deal with the protection that needs to have it in perfect condition when you drive the car daily, not having a garage etc. PS: Protect it with the Qtechniq EXO + Serum Light that you got recently (well, not that recent...). Waiting to hear your opinions about them compared to others.

been doing work at a bodyshop recently and one of the techs claim that all air compressors will blow out small amounts of oil when using a airgun , its the firs time I've ever heard that, any truth to this at all? I've never had any issues with any air compressor I've used

Not true if the system has a coalescing filter. The filter is designed specifically for taking out oils and residual moisture. The air flows from the inside of the filter element to the outside, and the contaminents collect on the fibers of the filter at crossover points, gradually growing larger and then drop into the bottom of the filter where they can be drained out. A high quality coalescing filter will take out compressor lube oils, residual cutting oils and pipe dope from the pipe joints, condensed moisture, carbonized oils and solutions of dissimilar oils down to 0.1 of a micron.

Lubricated rotary screw air compressors mix oil with the intake air to lubricate the compressor's screws. They will spray a bit of oil along with water. Most body shops have separators to remove these before point of use.

Perfect Finish is fantastic! Love that stuff. I think in your series with Jason he mentioned not being a fan of, or seeing a need for, cross hatch passes with the buffer. Do you find yourself doin cross-hatch because of habit? Or simply like to? I'm not back-seat detailing, just idle curiosity. :) There is much want in me for a Rupes Nano, but just not enough need to justify the chunk of coin it commands. =/
