I can't tell you how much I appreciate you showing this video! I grew up in the 70s and 80s, and this particular pack was one I got from a friend of mine in a trade and I used to use it all the time in the Boy Scouts and camping in the woods in our woods in upstate NY with my buddies. I did not have the combat suspenders and boy was it tight, and I was just a skinny little guy like most kids in the 70s and 80s (before High Fructose Corn Syrup). My son now has this pack and now I know how to purchase and install these suspenders. Thank You Sir!!

It could be carried by itself wearing a belt or not. Then it could be removed by itself without having to remove the ammo or pistol belt. And the front straps could still be hooked to the belt for support, if the soldier wished.

I’m pretty sure it wasn’t designed to carry on a belt, but I guess you could carry it on a belt or any other way you could strap it to your body. Thank you for watching and commenting

I didn't realize until now that the retaining strap on mine was cut off by the previous owner, is it possible to attach the suspenders without them?

I don’t think so unless you can figure out some other way to get the attached to the pack

I have a question on this, i'm on the way to make an USMC ww2 loadout. So, the question Is: i have bought a pair of m1936 suspenders, and i wanted to know if that suspenders can be attached to the m1945 haversack or i have to buy even the m1941 suspenders to fit them together. Thanks very much

Elia Zardin for the m1945 combat field pack you will need M 44 or M 45 suspenders. The m1936 suspenders are for the M1936 musette bag . See my video on the M 1936 . However the United States Marine Corps did not use the M1945 , it used the m1941 haversack which has its own shoulder straps. I will do some videos very soon on the M 1941 United States Marine Corps packs keep an eye out

Let me do my compliments for your Channel it helped me ti do many things for my Vietnam loadout and now for the USMC ww2! Thanks a lot!

However, per me do a last question, for a USMC ww2 loadout, i'm correct anyway with this tipe of suspenders and even the musette or i have done a mistake buing this suspenders? Cause i see that marines in original photos had the m1936 but i still don't understand if this loadout Is largely correct or no, or if only certain reparts of marines had that and others had the m41 suspenders and It's haversack.

In the Marine Corps raiders very well could have used in 36 suspenders . When it comes to military web gear never say never.

Yes the m1941 suspenders will work for the belt and the m1941 haversack
