11:12 I used a seated chest press machine for the first time today rather than benching and the stretch through the negative and at the bottom of the movement was more than I have ever felt benching. Far superior for controlling the stretch and contraction. So you can teach a 57 year old new tricks.

I'm guilty of ego lifting, screwed myself up a few times. Now being older, I realize I need to feel the muscle and move on muscle, instead of just throwing weight. Thank you Mike for bringing the light to idiots like myself. 👍

8:30 ... great machine! It reminds me of the Classic Universal Bench Press, though the bench in the video doesn't look detachable. I loved that back in the day. You barely see them anymore, if at all. You could do so much with it: aside from benching ---- shrugs, OHP off the floor, and even dips.

Is all about that movement, ever since I started following this channel and applying most of the tips you give out I've been seeing changes ,I have been lifting lighter weight with better movement and connecting to the muscle I'm trying to work out, I love doing the Tricep movement that you have in one of your videos I love that and they have gotten bigger in the last 2 months even with lighter weight, some dudes at the gym I go to they are starting to apply it😎,great content man!!!!

I can literally listen to you talk all day. As a guy new to weight training in his 40s, looking at all the people out there saying their way is the best way my old brain gravitates to the least complicated methods as they make the most sense to me. How you describe things and how you see people doing things wrong (poor form to lift the heaviest weights) in the gym must be universal the world over because I can see that in the gym I go to and before I found your content I was on the road too. Luckily for my body your content came to me early on.

My gym has that chest press machine you showed us. It’s humbling when you actually do the press the correct way. I had to use two 35 lb plates. It’s amazing when you realize that you may not be as strong as you originally thought. It’s not the weight. It’s your form that builds the body. Thanks for making these videos. It’s helped me so much. Look better and feel better along with more motivation in the gym.

I agree with Mike 100%. I have seen so many guys doing squats with 4,5,6 plates but have skinny legs. Never made sense to me why they do that amount of weight and dont question why their legs are still small. It really is all about ego. I see the same thing with ppl doing deadlifts. Ppl going crazy heavy but still look like a cyclist. I guess they just want to say they are strong and not actually build any muscle.

Because of you and Jonni Shrieve, my training has never been better than it is now. Thank you. I learned how to fully engage my lats when doing back. Apparently that’s why my upper back area was always so developed and lats lacking but they are getting really good now. For me, I’d rather look like I can move 500lbs than actually moving 500 lbs. But don’t get me wrong, I would be happy if I could move 500lbs controlled and injury free lol

I agree. People have completely complicated the idea. Yes there are things that science may help with but the main thing you need to be concerned with is breaking your muscle down and repairing it. All of this macro mess cycle crap and all this scientific nonsense just causes confusion and makes lifting feel like a job.
