I was watching this video this morning because I had that same exact problem. Spent hours looking. Added a couple hdmi cables on my Amazon cart and then realized I was using the hdmi cord from my series S on my series X so I got the hdmi cable that came with the series X and I didn’t change any settings on the tv only on the series X I put it on 4K 120hz and it worked. No more flickering nothing! If that didn’t work I was going to try different HDMI 2.1 cables to see if any worked. I hope this helps someone like it did me. Side note I have the QN90A 85 and it is awesome! I don’t know which one I like more this or my LG C1 but wow!

I found on my Q90T that it operated game mode best if I chose Game Mode On or Off while I was on the Xbox dashboard screen before I loaded up either a game or movie, depending on what I was using it for. When I tried turning it on or off while the game was already loaded, thats when it had issues for me.

Unticking HDR10 in the X box video modes fixed all issues for me. Won't be buying another Samsung TV.

Guys: The ultimate solution for Xbox owners: DISABLE HDR. You can leave EVERYTHING on, 4K, VRR… literally everything. BUT YOU NEED TO TAKE OFF THE HDR, it solved it for me and other people.

I have a Q90r this happens to me when 120hz is enabled and vrr is on. If I turn off vrr then all ok, or If I change it to 60hz then it doesn't happen either. This only happens on some games not all them.

I have a problem with the q95t with the Sonos arc. Every time I turn on my TV, my sonos arc keeps stuttering, I turn the atmos off in the sound settings and it turns it off again. If I turn the TV off and on again, it will falter again, then I turn the atmos on, then it does it again, so I keep busy with it. It's driving me crazy. Do you know what it is???

I have a 85” Q80A Samsung tv. When I put it in game mode I notice in detailed areas like hair and trees and miscellaneous spots that there seems to be an issue with contrast. What I mean is it looks like the contrast is switching on and off continuously. I have notified Samsung and they have no clue what is going on and I have tried every setting on my TV and PlayStation. I notice it more when it is in game mode and HDR is turned on. When I turn HDR off it goes away a little but is still noticeable. When I turn game mode off it goes to normal but the high contrast is no longer there. The crisp detail is not there anymore.If anyone has an idea what is going on please let me know.

My tv would bug out when going from movie mode to game mode - it wouldn't recognize the Xbox is connected anymore. I've found that if you hold the tv remote power button down for an extended period of time to hard reboot the tv, it turns back on in game mode as it should.

I thinking about getting a ps5 or a xbox series x. But I have a normal LG LM55 LED tv. It does have a mode called "gaming" in picture modes and sound modes. I don't really care much about 4k or any other thing. I just want to play it with out any problems. Would it work ?

I get a similar problem when plugging the series x into a Samsung soundbar and soundbar to eARC. Have to plug Xbox directly into Samsung tv and the picture is fine but don’t get dts audio formats like dts:x etc. Still get Dolby atmos but I don’t think it sounds as good as plugging directly into the soundbar.

I have this same tv and sometimes the PS5 audio isn't there when I turn it on and I do the exact same thing as this (switch HDMI using tv remote) and it resolves the issue of audio.

I’ve had this same issue driving me crazy for months, it’s the Xbox HDMI lead that ships with the console that is the fault here! I’ve just bought a new 2.1 HDMI and it works absolutely fine now!! Genuinely can’t believe it’s just the cable, madness. Mixed emotions, happy it’s fixed, gutted I haven’t tried this sooner!

Yup, this is exactly the issue. I just changed my HDMI cable that came with the console to an 8k 120hrz HDMI high-speed cable and now none of the issues that occurred before corrupting my TV exsist anymore. Damn shame Microsoft.

Hi paul all these TVs that are Expensive give you more trouble I have a lg 49 4k tv for the last 4 years I mite not be the best but dose the job I can see the different playing a ps5 so I just wounder is there any point in getting a newer model tv I'm not worried about 120fps

120 fps does feel alot better though when you are gaming you will feel the difference to 60fps

I’m also has samsung tv and I have a problem with sound on my xbox series X and S. sometimes, when i leave the game, sound in menu (desktop) disappears, also it disappears for other applications (like KZbin) , games still have sound, menu sounds can be hear if i plug headphones in gamepad and hear them from there. sometimes sound disappears when i’m open game for the first time, in this case sound disappears in games, but menu still works. I used xbox series S for 3 months and everything were cool, but when i got series x it started from the first day and now this happening with both my consoles. There are some ways to fix this like unplug HDMI cable and put in another connector (same connector doesn't fix this) but its really annoying do it everytime. Maybe this because of samsung’s game mode ? It’s strange that everything were fine until i got xbox series x….

I'm on the latest Samsung update yet this is still happening. I find that it only happens with games that have HDR where the game mode flickers. Setting it to 60hz oddly works but not ideal regardless. Is anyone still currently experiencing this like I am?

Still the same issue for me, no firmware revision has fixed it yet. I haven’t tried another HDMI cable but assumed the Xbox supplied one would be suitable! When I get the spinning wheel, unplugging HDMI and plugging back in works. If I can’t be bothered standing up when I get the spinning wheel, I close the game and reload, usually works after ~4 attempts. Xbox button, down on dpad x2, menu button, down on dpad x4, A. Feels like an old cheat combo😂

Only time it happens to me it's with warzone, no other game. But unlike yours, my game plays, I don't get the no signal issue. Nonetheless, it's annoying when tv goes haywire with the game on and off switching

I do this from day one, you can also enable/disable game mode on/off if you forget the game mode when you start the game. But its a damn waste of time when you start game HDR/120hz Thanks for putting this out Tech M8!!

I had the same issue with my q70t and i kept it on or off in the mean time. I called Samsung to report the issue and it looks like they recently issued a software update to version 1462 that has fixed the issue for me

Annoying to have to do this, I have a similar issue with my laptop when I use it with my Samsung it will just keep cutting out. Its a new laptop 3070 maybe this will work for me! You will definitely want game mode on as it will minimise input lag and turn off all tv processing on the image.

Depends on where you would place your tv and what your main uses for it would be. If you have a bright room you should definitely go with a samsung qled since it is much brighter than lg’s

Yes. Turn on Game mode. Then turn off Game Mode. Then reset your console and it will fix the problem.

Guys, the DEFINITE solution to solve the problem: DISABLE HDR in the Xbox Video settings. I have a Q90T and I kept turning Game Mode on and off, but after that it worked.

If anyone Playing on the Series X or S what I did was. Turn on Game mode. Then turn off Game Mode. Then reset your console and it will fix the problem.

I’ve found the easiest workaround for this issue. When the flickering starts, simply pres the xbox-button on your controller once, then press A. Once you’ve done this the flickering will stop and you’ll be on the dashboard. Simply press A again to switch back to the game. This takes about 5 seconds and you don’t have to pick up tour tv remote. You’re welcome 😃

Just wanted to let you know that not all the HDMI ports on the TV support gaming mode I would suggest to read the Manuel for your TV to make sure you are using the Correct HDMI PORT

I've been having this problem and I think I figured my problem out. On the TV settings there's a "input plus" that is a input extender, I turned that off for the input my console is on and hasn't done it since.

Hello, TechGiant. There is an easier way to solve it. When you start a game that has this issue you can press Xbox Guide button (white light button) and then press A. You'll go back to Xbox dashboard. And after that you start your game again. It works. And it is faster

Its gotta be an xbox issue, same issue with my q900r. 120hz+vrr does this but sometimes i can get it to work. No issues with 120hz with vrr off or 60hz with vrr on. I think its freesync overlapping with xbox's vrr setting

Having the same issue, apparently it’s FreeSync. I’m having the same issue with my Q900R, apparently it has to do with LED’s TV’s and 120Hz. If you press the ok button it will say freesync input plus 119Hz for me anyway.. quite an annoyance seems Samsung like to act “gamer” friendly. I turned off freesync and it says it’s 120Hz but CoD CW disagrees and of course it’s highly unlikely they will do an update with the “game bar” for 2019 and 2020 TV’s

@@SuperRodriguezvera I have a bunch of 2.1 cables. That was my first thought but even the pack in cables with the XSX and PS5 pass the 40Gbps test my amp can do so it’s a safe bet they all will do the 48Gbps.

I had the same issue with my Q90T. I fixed it by turning off „auto hdr“ in the xbox settings. Don‘t know how this could have made a issue beforehand but it fixed the problem for me.

I had a issue with my q90r where no sound had to switch hdmi back and forth once and sound would return Resolved it by taking cable out of recommended port 4 (falsely told only port that supports 120) now using port 1 no sound issue and it does support 120

Only expensive tv has some problems but my 150eu philips led has no problems with xbox sx.
