I agree, in the 3D version, Odowla is boring, Goht is Useless, Gyorg is annoying because of the whole idea of the mines, and Twinmold is just obvious why everyone hates him/her/it/them.

Personally, for me, giving each boss a specific weak point in the 3DS version was a terrible idea and killed the pacing of the fights. The fact that you had to switch back to Link's original form in the Goht battle to pull out the Bow to hit the eyeball just adds an unnecessary step to defeat the boss. I was also very confused that I couldn't harm Odolwa directly and had to target the giant eyeball behind his head instead, which I couldn't see because Odolwa always directly faces you. They also gave Gyorg a second phase that was far more frustrating than N64 Gyorg ever was. And giant Link during the Twinmold fight was very slow and clunky to control, and doesn't even use his sword. These changes are so unnecessary and ended up making the boss battles even worse.

Fun fact: twinmold had the most upgrade from n64 to 3ds remake because they not only added eyeball weak points for you to hit but back in the n64 version you could use your sword and shield while giant mask and hit him anywhere and all you really needed to do was get magic and that’s the boss quick and easy, but the 3ds remake expanded it so not only do you need to punch and wrestle him now to attack the eyeball weakpoint instead of any spot on him but there’s two of him instead of one which gives his name a lot more since.

I've been hearing a lot of garbage being tossed at the new version of Odolwa with a lot of people who played through the original version screaming that he's now too easy, the eyeballs are annoying, etc. but it seems Odolwa can be stunlocked. Seeing as how I only played a little bit of the original but am now really getting my first chance to play through it now that I own the 3DS version, I'm going to try the same strategy and see if it still works.Granted, Odolwa now collapses to the ground so you can hit the head, but I figure I can just rinse and repeat with the jumping slash for lots of damage and then do the standard "pull out the arrows and stun" strategy.

For those of you saying that the 3ds version of these fights is harder, I agree they are definitely more challenging. But what I don't like is when Link is riding on Epona, like say racing the Gorman bros to either get their mask or some milk, how when you make Epona run fast by (as the game points out even though we all know Link smacks her to do this), gently taps her back side, if you release the d-pad while she's running to rest your thumb or it slips off the d-pad, she goes from running fast to just trotting. That's the only thing i don't like about this games 3d version, otherwise it's a great game.

I think what I like about the 3ds version is 1) Getting the Romani mask was easier because I could use the bottom screen map to keep track of which ghosts to go for first. but mainly, that in the Twinmold fight after you defeat the Blue one and get the mask, The red one comes out angry like "YOU KILLED MY BUDDY ATTACK!!!!"

@@kitchenknife1722 it's not like the 3ds version changes the bosses in terrible ways., I mean you could still just use the sword against odolwa,with goht taking off the masks takes little time because you could just skip the animations, the gyorg fight made clever use of the zora and the twinmold fight was actually pretty fun. I liked the idea of fighting it on the ground then fighting the second one with the giants mask.

Twilit _Gamer Idk, I thought the remake was ok, not amazing, but I enjoyed it enough and would play it over the original. There's a lot of room for improvement (Zora Link, the Keeta fight) but I just enjoy playing the remake more, it feels more polished.

Odolwa can be fought the old way in the 3ds version, its actually much harder you have to hit him when his guard is down. Don't need to transform to deku scrub once to beat him. People just assume without playing and comment on KZbin like cancer

for all those who hate the 3ds version because they are more "difficult", what's wrong with it? there are people who like the difficulty and watch the video how the bosses were passed in less than 2 minutes each, in the 3ds version it takes longer but you are not in a hurry to beat the game very fast unless you are a speedruner which is not in most cases. In addition to being more tedious, it was rewarded with the gyroscope of the bow and the hook and how much the touch screen is useful for not changing the menu every so often.

As someone who grew up on the original, and got the perfect ending. I like both versions, but still prefer the original. I like the asthetic look of the remake, simply because they just ported the young link model from OoT: 3D. I really like how they remade link on the 3DS. I don't like how they tried to make the Moon look scarier though, as it felt so forced. The original was already terrifying with the subtle red shades during the final hours.

Personally I like the 64 versions better if gyorg being the only one that could he marked as an improvement but more importantly I think some originality is loss on them. This game was the only 3d zelda game before botw to have boss that weren't about using the item you found in the dungeon and making the boss into a mini game, the boss were just hack and slash style and could be approached in different ways (not all of them but some)

Boss stragedy: 1 odolwa: he will do his some kind of dance then he will run so stun him with the arrow then attack him. After he took some hits, he will summon little bitty bugs that will give you hearts, bats that are almost indestructible. Sometimes he will form a circular flame killing bats and little bugs if they are present and not defeated. 2 goht: use fire arrow to melt the ice on him then the boss begins. Use goron to roll after him but watch out for his attacks and rocks falling. If you get too far from him, he will send electric things at you once you get caught up. After a few hits, the pillars starts to fall. After a few more hits, he will constantly throw bombs behind him. If he gets knocked down, its your chance to attack him. So switch to link to attack him. 3
