Hey Erick.. My name is Jim. I watch as many of your vids as I can find. As others point out you share some very useful info. One thing I enjoy about you is you come across as quite honest. You aren't a corner cutter. If something needs to be addressed you do it head on. I'm 70. I bought the Saturn FB 300X in dark green. Weighs in about 110. So I wanted something I could handle physically at my age. I made my own bench covers that slip right over the aluminum. I have the same wheels you have. As for the motor I also have a 2020 Tohatsu 6 HP. So you and I have so much in common. I'm glad I found your channel. I would like to join a live feed but I am mute so I would be rather useless. Continue what you do the way you do it. I'll keep watching. You offer premium useful information at a great price. LOL. Stay well

Great video as always Erick, especially for someone just getting into inflatable boats. I've been working on refining my setup for a couple months now and here's a few things I've done differently: I picked up a small battery powered leaf blower that I use to inflate the boat most of the way, then use the foot pump to get it firm. The leaf blower will take the boat from completely deflated to full looking in about 1 minute! I also ditched my transom wheels that looked like yours and went with the beach master ones. The beach master wheels don't even come close to interfering with the motor while turning so I just flip them up and go. They're pricey, but worth it! The boat ramps around me are all pretty steep and my boat with motor, gear, floor, etc is around 250lbs. This was definitely a problem on a steep, slick boat ramp, so I now use a hook that goes into the receiver of my truck and attaches to the d-ring on the front of the boat to make launching and pulling the boat out of the water a breeze! Thanks for the video, keep em coming!

First and foremost congrats on getting your first inflatable!! Once you get it place it in a flat surface near a water hose, If no hose is available then try using 2 buckets, one with soapy water and one with clean water. You can use Dawn dish detergent or some type of biodegradable detergent like Simple Green. Get it wet and wash it with a rag and soapy water. Rinse and let dry. I assume that it does not have any transom wheels so in that case I suggest inflating it near the water so it'll be easier for you. Cool video, I have a Mercury 340 air deck with a 15hp 2 stroke merc pushing it around and can hit 20mph on glassy water, its great when you want to get from Bowditch to Sanibel in a hurry. I agree that after a while the weight gets old and I don't always need that much power but at 70lbs the old tech saves some weight but even a 4hp Tohatsu weighs 58lbs so I dont know if it would be worth switching it up? The rest of my rig is a lot like yours, wheels make all the difference. I have had trouble in Crystal River with the Sheriff not liking my plaque with the numbers on it, fortunately my faded numbers were still on my boat from when I used stencils and painted it on with that peal off paint (Spray wrap) and they let me slide, but the coast guard in Fort Myers had no issue with it. Hi! Which part of Clearwater Beach do you go on your boat? And what is the best way to put a hydrofoil on my Honda 2.3hp motor?
@ErickMartinSucre4 жыл бұрын
There are a few boat ramps in Tampa Bay. I looked on Google and saw a few but forgot the name of the one I used. There isn't really a hydrofoil for a 2.3hp outboard. I know this because I used to own one. Hydrofoil are better suited for outboards 10hp and above. The reason being is that it does not have enough power to make a difference.

Great video very helpful. Looking to buy my first Inflatable to store on my house boat for emergencies and shore access. Is it safe to leave them inflated continuously or is it recommended to deflate when just being stored on boat ? Thank you
@ErickMartinSucre4 жыл бұрын
For leaving outside for long periods of time you're better off getting a Hypalon inflatable. That material is meant to withstand extreme weather conditions for many years. If you get a standard inflatable that uses PVC rubber it is best to deflate and re-inflated while being used. A standard inflatable will be ok if you leave it outside for a week or so during a boating trip but not months left unattended. If the boat is going to be in storage and not exposed to the weather then it should be ok. Thanks for watching and I hope this information is useful to you.

Nice sum up of the different types of inflatables and must have equipment, Eric. Size do matter for sure. @Erick Martin Sucre Do you recommend Saturn's electric pump or the alternitive one from Amazon that is digital, has built in battery and shows psi vs kpa? Also boatstogo.com has the saturn pump with built in battery for $40 more. Which do you prefer? Thanks
@ErickMartinSucre3 жыл бұрын
I use the standard pump that only measure KPA mainly because it is analog and if the battery dies, I can just replace it instead of having it all built in. Being analog it has the tendency to last longer by not having any facny parts that could break. If you prefer one that measure PSI as well, you're better off getting the one that plugs in to your car's 12v outlet. If you choose to get the one that it's all built it just keep in mind that the battery will go bad in 2-3 years and you'll need to replace the whole thing.

Great Videos Erick! I am considering a Saturn FB365. My primary uses are fishing and cruising on lakes and some slow moving rivers in the Southwest (CA, NV, AZ, UT, NM). It will be me (285#), 16yo son (150#) who has Autism, and on occasion my wife (120#). I want to carry it in camping trailer and/or truck and use it on camping trips. I am considering a Tohatsu 6hp as I do not want to have to move around a heavier outboard. Weight of boat and engine are of importance, as I will be setting it up primarily by myself. I'm 58 years old so the lighter and simpler the better! What are your thoughts on the FB365 in terms of 2-3 passengers? Do I need to consider a larger boat (13') or will the FB365 at 12' be just fine? Planning and hi speeds are not important to me. Fishing and cruising are what I love to do! I want a boat that is safe, especially considering my son and his challenges with Autism. I am a long time boater (fishing and sail boats) but little to no experience with inflatables. Also, the FB365 comes with an Alum floor. I see BoatsToGo sells an optional inflatable floor. I prefer a nice solid floor in the event I need to stand up and stretch. I will start with the included alum floor first and see how it goes. Thoughts? Suhhestions? Advice? Many thanks!! Saludos!
@ErickMartinSucre4 жыл бұрын
Thank you!! The FB365 will be great for 4 people so your son and wife will be comfortable in it. You could go with the AM330/SD330 and you'll be good as well. A wise choice to get the 6hp outboard since it has plenty of power and it is light weight. The hard floor is just fine it just requires a little but of assembly. I myself prefer the inflatable floor but mainly because I tend to wheel in the boat inland whenever I go island camping here in Florida and I need it to be light.

This video was very helpful. One question: any thoughts on heat welded vs glued seams? I am a bit concerned about it since even the warranty states heat exposure will void the warranty therefore storage in say an outside shed with no AC in Florida might be considered heat exposure. I suppose not a huge issue since I do have cool places to store, but I'd like to have confidence it will last at least 5 years.
@45caminiti4 жыл бұрын
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe heat welded is the better choice. The first inflatable I purchased was glued and in a matter of weeks, the glue around the seams was turning yellow. :(

I have a ZK430 and took it out for the first time last week. I have a 15hp motor on it and it did well for the first trip out with the family, but then the second trip on the way back I had a scary thing happen. I felt the motor go down a bit and I looked back and saw the motor bend down in the water and the tubes bent down in the back by the transom. I eased off and motored to shore but I was wondering initially if the tubes were under inflated? My second thought is the trim of the prop (which looked ok) might be pointing up causing the bend, also I had weight in the front and back, but not in the middle. I did pump it by hand, but don't have a gauge on the pump, so I feel I may have been too cautious and under inflated it. I did get an electric pump since with a setting to stop at the right psi. Going to try again next week. Any ideas? Thank you

Happy to help. Onlineoutboards.com is the site I used. One little advice, find out what size shaft your boat needs. They have the potential to rot the transom if you don't apply some water sealant when placing the brackets that hold the wheels. Remember to use a sealant like bathroom sealant you can find in Walmart.
