In classic Pokemon games, _they_ approach _you_ and they're potentially dangerous. You're fine. Apparently in Legends: Arceus, _you_ are the one hunting _them_ down, so the logic of this video applies (to a lesser degree because combat is not lethal in Pokemon).

@@rocksfire4390 They handwave that by saying that the pokemon want to fight. It gives off "samurai defending the honor of their feudal lord" vibes. If you read the pokedex more closely, many of the pokemon themselves are far more terrifying - many are Godzilla class leviathans that can wipe cities on a whim, and several are straight up Lovecraftian elder gods.

A Monster Ranger shows up and checks your hunting license. You're over your limit so there's a small fine and you have to stop grinding.

Yes, it's the episode where the Goblin Slayer is pursued by a fan boy, who wants to join his party; so the Goblin Skayer gives him an ultimatum that if he kills enough goblins to reach level 50, then he will let him join. Of course there is a catch, he has to do it before the sunsets. The fan succeeds at the challenge and Goblin Slayer makes him his squire and erran boy.

Alternative way to look at this: adventurers are needed to cull the endless spawning of goblins. If they didn't, eventually goblins would completely destroy the local ecosystem, spreading further until every square inch of the planet is goblins. And it doesn't stop there, goblins would continue to spawn creating a Dyson sphere of green flesh over the planet. It slowly expands throughout space, engulfing other celestial bodies into it's squealing mass until everything is goblins
