First of all thank you for this awesome innovative product ! Those new variants will be very succesfull ! But i have a question : Especially for smaller headtypes those glasses are very bulky ... wondering why Xreal does not offer a smaller variant where the outer screen size is the same as the inner screen size ? If it was possible i would cut the outer glasses ( lower part ) but the dimming funtion will be destroyed by that modification ... so the Xreal company needs to reduce the size themselves with another smaller model ... Xreal .. come on !!! Please do it !

I can't wait to upgrade from the nreal air to the xreal one pro. It's absolutely perfect for gaming on the deck. The support for 3dof is a game changer. Happy to see a full early preview! I hope all of the software is more refined this time around! Also tested question. The older versions of these glasses were hard to read at the bottom edges of the screen. Can you see all of the content this time around comfortably?

If the XBEAM Pro is not required with the XREAL Oneas the founder himself says, then why is an option available to buy it as a bundle? Couple reasons I feel are, it has a spatial computing chipset with Widevine support as well, importantly it allows you to capture 3D Pictures and Video. They are even offering the XREAL EYE for free initially (don't know if that is with XBEAM Pro bundle whether with One or One Pro)., whether it will too capture 3D Pics & Videos like the Beam Pro Can the Beam Pro be totally done away with the One??

I feel like this is something that seems lost on VR enthusiasts. The reduced friction of not having to plug in an intermediary puck seems like such a small thing that wouldn’t be worth the cost of developing a new chip. The majority of these comments look like haters. If you did real research, you would realize that no glasses this small can be 100% XR. The closest one is meta. These glasses are for media consumption only. I swear you can always tell who the smooth-brain people are by their comments. They never had the product but somehow knew everything bad about it. I'm not sure about pushing the 'regular' sunglasses' look of these types of devices. They never manage to actually quite pull that off. I tried the viture offering, and I'm convinced that fow now, at least, this particular form factor comes at the cost of wearer comfort and good fit to get the best viewing experience. @@jimharp8655 Dr. Roger N. Even within the ~100x100° FOVs of current headsets, though, 8K is lower than the human eye can perceive. We'll also need framerates of up to 1,000Hz.

I've tried a friend's Xreal pro and they were amazing. Field of view is important to me so I will wait for the Xreal one pros to come out. As a Canadian living in China, I love Xreal real because they are a Chinese company competiting with big fish and holding their own wonderfully. The way they are growing and innovating, I truly see version of Xreal in the future that will by ever means look, feel and be a pair of eye/sunglasses with cameras, floating screen guides and even a built in Ai bot that will not only answer any question you may have on the stop but also keep you company if and when you need it as well as be a second set of eyes that will serve to warning you and prevent problems or dangers before they happen. One other thing. As a business man I would love Xreal in to future to remember the name and everything I should know about everyone I meet and quietly inform me everytime I see them again. "That's Bob Wang, he'd the CEO of XXX co. You met last year are the xxx benefit dinner. His wife is Jane and he has 2 boys, likes to golf and is an avid skydiver". Now wouldn't that be great? The Viture Pros drift horribly, to the point where 3DOF on them is essentially useless. It's like viewing three computer screens through the window of a revolving restaurant. I would love to see some research on "frame extrapolation" techniques, like Intel ExtraSS, focusing on devices like this. After reading the research papers in details, it got me wondering what could be achieved if the graphics engine could send not just color frames to the display, but also the depth and optical flow data. This way, the display could also handle further adjustments to the scene without a full round-trip of sensor data + rendering + frame transmission. Although it's not a solution for low framerates, it could deal with small inter-frame movements and even correction of distortions when combined with eye tracking.
@SauloMansur15 күн бұрын
And as a sidenode, I think people underestimated ExtraSS a lot. Most comments were limited to comparisons with available frame-interpolation techniques like DLSS and FSR, but the research is not limited to give better fps to games -- and maybe for this reason people didn't gave the deserved attention xD

I have the Air2 Pro and wanted to plug them into my Sony Camera, which works but I want to be able to see as I walk, not just see the camera interface and not much else, it means it's mot augmented but a screen that prevents me i nteracting with whats around me. I hope that makes a littl;e bit more sense.

I mean, there are cheaper ways of looking like a douche and making everyone, except the most insufferable incels, totally avoid you. Why do tech companies think that anyone wants to wear 'tech' glasses??? No one's asking for this 'innovation' I wish they'd divert the resources into inventing something useful.

I have an earlier version and they’re okay, but for very specific use cases. I have a large TV and find it more comfortable to just use that at home. This is moreso for travel IMO. They’re a bit bulky and vision is too limited to use while doing errands around the house.

Still no clarity around their support for open standards like OpenXR or WebXR, so it’s not clear to me that this ecosystem silo will have stickiness beyond short-term novelty. I tried the Air 2 Ultra, and was very impressed with the tech, but just don’t understand the priorities on the software side.

Especially for smaller headtypes those glasses are very bulky ... wondering why Xreal does not offer a smaller variant where the outer screen size is the same as the inner screen size ? If it was possible i would cut the outer glasses ( lower part ) but the dimming funtion will be destroyed by that modification ... so they need to reduce the size themselves with another smaller model ... Xreal .. come on !!! Do it !

Ah an early tested impressions video - nice. Looking forward to this one, feels like the baseline they should have been aiming for but tech wasn’t quite there yet. I hope you can save your options, and it’d be nice to have a companion app for iPhone even if only to use for adjusting settings more conveniently

So, is this an opaque view or a translucent screen...? What I'm looking for is, I guess, "true AR". I tend to think with my feet - I get my best ideas for writing while I'm walking. The problem is that I also have ADHD, which means I tend to forget those ideas by the time I find somewhere to sit down and write them down! The Idea I had was to have a semi-transparent screen to enable me to walk around without hitting a lamppost, while using a Tap Strap on my thigh to type - so that I can come up with an idea, and have a basic outline typed up for later editing by the time I reach my destination. Ideally, I'd have these incorporated into an all-day-wear pair of prescription glasses, and a camera and bone-conduction audio in the temples would be some great bonuses as well. Wireless capability and Android compatibility would also be necessary (I'd take a drop in screen resolution in exchange for Bluetooth, since I wouldn't have to see every pixel so long as I could read the text). Every pair of "smartglasses" I see seems to imply most if not all of these features, but when you dig into the specs (no pun intended!), they always disappoint. It feels like we should be able to produce wireless (if limited-resolution) semi-transparent screen mirroring and bone-conduction audio (as opposed to narrowband directed sound projection, which doesn't give the same level of privacy) in a frame which will accept prescription lenses with our current technologies - it's just that nobody seems to want to make them...

@@BaldmanB I'm assuming you don't wear glasses. I mean more the amount of bulk on your face, including the weight on your nose and ears. AT least with more proper VR headsets you have the weight of those distributed using your head itself instead of all of it pushing down on a narrow strip of your nose and your ears.

Great video and great interview, but I think the question about the social acceptance and practicability of walking around with them misguided and honestly the comparison to the Meta RayBan unfair. RayBan are when it comes to media consumption just glorified headphones. Really cool open headphones, but still audio only (and there are a ton of other earbud like open headphones by now, MKBHD just made a video about them and I can recommend the Bose for something that sounds better than RayBan). It would be cool if those could be our all day video display (or horrible...), but as the CEO phrased it, these are a perfectly fine product just for special occasions. Like, if you commute for an hour per train, they might be worth it for you just to watch video on them or game. Or on your lunch break. I could also see them being an option you can pay for just to rent them on flights in the future. It doesn't matter if they are bulky or don't really look like normal glasses in those scenarios. Just like your notebook is a valuable product even though it isn't practical to hold it in your hand all day while walking, I do find these can be (depending on the limitations) as well. Again, not saying getting them to a point as they are as all day usage friendly as the RayBan isn't desirable. For me personally though, I would really want a 6DOF version for added stability and maybe higher resolution to be able to also use them with a smaller image w/o missing detail (assuming zooming out loses effective resolution like in VR).
@xipalips15 күн бұрын
The Meta glasses also record, for the slim category of people who want that on their face, but wouldn't just go with a more durable, higher picture quality GoPro. I guess just vloggers? But they often cultivate an aesthetic, and good cameras are a part of creating that.
@Tech-nm1sx15 күн бұрын
@@xipalips I think the RayBans make a whole lot of sense and I might get a pair specifically to record stuff on our next vacation, but they are just not competing with those video glasses.

X1 chip definitely paves the path for onboard 6DoF, but extra cameras would add to the cost. Agree that it’s time for higher resolution than 1080, though.
