It's because people who enjoy more of action than dialogue or actual story progression have short attention spans, they struggle to process alot of information, I personally enjoy this especially the little details because you can clearly see Hinatas mental struggles as well his his physical weaknesses and what he does to overcome it. Probably why I don't particularly enjoy fire force, great animation but the story is 3/10, didnt really interest me to carry on with the series.
@KyosisPlays3 жыл бұрын
@@woodpecker767 It's not boring, you just find it boring because you have a short attention span to episodes with more dialogue, you enjoy more action. It depends on your taste really, like if you enjoyed fire force with great animation but 3/10 story.

A coach who never managed to embrace and overcome his height disadvantage as a player takes out his insecurities and frustrations on his players and on his coaching style. This coach sees himself in a player whose team beat his elite team, but that short player is not treated like the coach was back in his day, he's actually one of the stars of the show. So he treats that player in a way that is seemingly berating and an attempt to hinder his potential, but he's actually showing him the path to observing and studying the game and the players, a path to growth as a player and as a teammate. Washijou puts Hinata in his place and makes him realize he needs to become an independent, well rounded player in order to move forward and improve. Hinata went from having no team or club to train and play with, into being a starter player in every game in high school as a first year, which is vey rare worldwide, but even more so in Japan where in school clubs the senpais get to play and the first years only clean after them, just like Hinata does in this arc. He was so easily handed that special position, and even though he never stopped working hard and deserved recognition for that, he was sort of pampered into just doing as he pleases, which is why he needed a push back into harsh reality, a reality very accurate to Japanese norms. This arc was very satisfying to me, because it showed us the beauty of a coach harshly disciplining and teaching a player what needed to be taught to the coach himself back when he used to be a player. Over time we see Washijou having this bittersweet reaction and his mentality being torn between on one side, the angry and grumpy old man who compensates for his insecurity through choosing tall strong players, and on the other side this young short player he used to be - who aspired to be more than what the stereotype of a short player can be, but never managed to succeed in doing that and had his dream crushed. I think people wouldn't mind these slow training slice of life episodes as much, if the season didn't have a break in two parts and was aired connected.
@kingintox57433 жыл бұрын
Honesty, you can tell who’s actually invested in the story and understands the characters by who likes this Story Arc. Obviously some people might not just like it because they enjoy the more hype matches and that’s fine, but you have to respect the development of the plot/characters in this arc.
@randomdud6683 жыл бұрын
These episodes are really important for Hinata actually. He must take the proper steps for volleyball. He had never watched or really played before this year. Usually you don't just start as a regular off rip with next to no experience. This perspective is really important for Hinata's growth skill wise as a player, for him to observe and absorb everything he can. And also his growth as a person, seeing if he gets complacent with his success or if he stays humble and continues to improve. Because that's the mentality it's gonna take for somebody small like Hinata to succeed after high school, ultimately what Hinata is lacking in height he has to make up for in skill. I think this is what all of the adults are trying to subtly convey to Hinata.

The thing about Hinata is that it's not that they're "not giving him enough credit". More so that Hinata really is overall, quite frankly, a pretty shit player. If you really think about it, his only good qualities are his pure athleticism, his speed, his stamina, and his jump, but that's it. He's pretty subpar at blocking when compared to someone like tsukki, he's horrible at receives, he can only do the most basic serve, etc. Spiking is the only thing he's good at, and even then if you really think about it, Hinata is actually one of the worst spikers pre-training camp. To clear things up, he's not "one of the worst" because he's bad at spiking, he's really good at spiking. The thing is that he's one of the worst "spikers," mainly because no other setter besides Kageyama, probably Oikawa, and another setter I won't name, could match him. If Hinata was paired up with literally any other setter besides those three, he'd never be able to get past blocks. Sure, his jump is high, but not so incredibly high that he can't be blocked. His speed is there, but only those three setters could probably match his speed, any other setter wouldn't be able to keep up. That's what Washijo Sensei is trying to say, "Without Kageyama, I see no value in you." To be honest, he's right. Hinata is almost nothing without a setter who can set him balls that will push his jump, speed, and stamina to their fullest potentials. That's the entire point of the training camp arc, to give Hinata skills that he can be good at that aren't reliant on Kageyama. The whole point of the training camp arc is to make Hinata a monster that doesn't require Kageyama to be part of the equation. I'm not hating on Hinata, in fact he's my favorite character, and this whole season solidified that fact. Hinata right now is pretty bad at everything, but that's why people like Washijo and Coach Ukai are allowing him to train like this. Making him ballboy will make him see things, not from the perspective of a spiker on the court, but from the perspective of someone on the sidelines who has no choice but to observe and absorb everything and everything. That's the point of this arc, to make Hinata an independent monster.

@KyosisPlays3 жыл бұрын
They realise he lacks aspects but they don't know what exactly, mostly because they havent seen the full scope of it, only parts where shown, like recieving and serving. To be honest alot of people realise just how much Hinata lacks and it became more apparent, he did progress but only in one field, and alot of that is because Kageyama is the setter, so only someone like him could draw out Hinata's potential in being a decoy or spiking, but in the other fields kageyama isnt there to support him, like receiving or serving, and like you said, he's an amateur in those fields.

He was never able to do the same things Hinata does despite them both being around the same height. His coach basically wouldn't give him a legitimate chance because he's short for the sport which led him to prioritize building a team that could be utterly dominant(Ushijima). I see that he treats Hinata like this because of pettiness(I couldn't achieve my goal so I have to make it hard for Hinata just like it was for me) and because he knows one outcome of the path of a short player in the sport(I have to make it hard for Hinata because he'll be heartbroken like I was). Ultimately Washijo likely regrets that he didn't try as hard as Hinata for his dream. Sorry for the long paper.
