I am ashamed to admit this but I thought I was being polite by standing far away from people when smoking, turns out I had moved directly to a no-smoking area and started smoking. my god was I embarrassed. I've never catched a live video for this series, but willl like to, seems fun. English to Japanese is more difficult, but good practice and a useful skill

For "You shouldn't hold back on what you want to do." Would したい事を遠慮してはいけません also work? Or at least could you use 遠慮する and 我慢する interchangeably in this case? I can understand why やりたい事 works better than したい事 in this context, but 遠慮する and 我慢する sound very similar in this context to me.

I had originally this for Q4 授業に横の人が話してはいけません and Q5 was quite hard but I had this したい抑えてはいけません Yes good exercise. This is the first scenario ive seen where Caz is more complicated than polite. Ive also seen ちゃ with the いけません/ない instead of the だめ I noticed that MUST NOT/DONT HAVE TO is similar grammer is that in Book 4 too? or 5 thanks

@@japanesefromzero The ones about other youtube people reacting you reacting to them, I don't think so. Another problem when you post too many drama videos is that it drowns the real informative videos like the video about the thieves who are selling fakes of your books. That was an important video that just got ignored by people who thought it was just another drama video.

@jin59642 жыл бұрын
Hi I’m Japanese. You can use 遠慮する but it sounds different a bit. がまんする means not to do something despite you want to. 遠慮する means to decide not to do something because of some situations.

@japanesefromzero3 жыл бұрын
This frustration is normal. You will eventually be in disbelief at how little is taught in book 1 once you get to a higher level of understanding. Just knock out the basics and you won’t feel so overwhelmed. Well... not all the time at least. Even much higher level students occasionally get flustered. It comes with trying to do such a cool thing. Most people never even attempt it, so you are already winning! Keep it up!
