Haha, how long has it been since you've seen the first Toy Story? (Granted, it's been a while for me too lol.) Woody literally was ready to stay silent and let Buzz rot away in the elements when he accidentally got knocked outside via the window. The original plot had him toss Buzz out outside on purpose! Would've been a murder plot if they weren't actually toys. Woody's ALWAYS been savage. It's cool to almost be rediscovering the characters again though... I haven't even seen the new film yet but I'd actually forgotten Bo Peep existed in this franchise...

@@FeatheredWingz I never forgot Bo Peep... I just wanted her GONE. When Toy Story 3 came around and we heard she had been sold in a garage sale (or something along those lines), I almost PARTIED. Well, I partied too soon. .-. My only tidbit of happiness now is that she didn't kiss Woody at the end of Toy Story 4... My interests in Barbie and Ken and Raggedy Ann and Andy (before you fight me, research them, because Johnny Gruelle, the author who wrote their original stories, NEVER said they were siblings) from a young age got me into this "vein" of thinking that only toys made for each other should be paired up (while I wouldn't criticize someone for not thinking the same way...) and I still do. I get that Pixar and many other people find it more interesting to pair up toys that have major differences and I can see WHY they would do it, but... It just doesn't resonate with me. I've wanted a COWGIRL for Woody since 1995 when mom took 3 year old me to see Toy Story in theaters. When Jessie showed up, that was like... I was SO excited. I LOVED her and I still do, regardless of how things have transpired. But I REALLY wanted Bo out of the picture so Jessie could move in... >n>
@governor_explosion5 жыл бұрын
CosplayCore I’ve always liked how you expected Jessie to end up with Woody, and they probably did on the original TV show Woody’s Roundup, but as her own person outside of the TV show, she fell in love with Buzz instead. It’s not what you’d expect, but it’s refreshing. And TS4 made me glad Bo had come back and got a more fleshed out personality. I just wish we’d seen Bo and Jessie interact more (and/or interact with Princess Mira Nova, but Pixar pretends the Buzz Lightyear of Star Command cartoon never happened.)

It is aging pretty rough, and I think a lot of it’s because they threw it up with the idea that it’s gonna be temporary, and then it became SO popular they didn’t see much need to refurbish. I mean in California (idk about the rest) the on-ride photo is at about the quality my Motorola Razr in middle school had and you can only get it by email. I still love it, but when I went at Christmas the most memorable thing about riding it multiple times in a day was that around 10-ish someone dropped an open ranch dipping cup in the line and it was still there after the fireworks. That bugged me more than any outdated-ness.

fun fact: the reason Zurg's voice sounds different on Space Ranger Spin is because that was his original voice - you can also hear it in a deleted scene from Toy Story 2 (an unused version of the Buzz vs Zurg fight scene, timestamped February-April 1998), which suggests they changed Zurg's voice for the movie after they'd already recorded his lines for the ride

I know it's 2 years late, but Frank Welker voiced Zurg in Space Ranger Spin. It's pretty cool hearing a character sound like Soundwave.
@YuukiTakemoto1996 Жыл бұрын
I can see why they changed it. That voice sounds like fucking Bane from Batman & Robin. TS2 was going to be DTV at first. I'd hate to see the universe where that was reality.

Definitely one of my favorite rides even to this day and that bumper car version was hilarious when people freaked out as their car spinned!

Haven't watched you in ages. I probably would have loved these rides as a kid. Loved Buzz Lightyear

Fun fact: Every star cruizer on BLSRS In orlando has a pair of Crystolic Fusion batteries mounted on the back. Every battery pair is screwed in differently as if each vehicle is its own toy (ex: sometimes you can see the logo, sometimes its partially covered, sometimes it shows the back). Thats good attention to detail.

so when i was 7 my mother took me to disney world. i've always been sensitive o overstimulation so the whole experience was (and still is) a vivid nightmare to me. this ride is the single shining good memory from that whole experience.

I had similar problems when I was like 5. Whenever i got too hyper i puked. I remember playing Sonic 3 for the first time and i fell in love with knuckles so much i puked on my neighbor

It's worth mentioning that the Chicago disneyquest also had the bumber car version. And was the first to close when whole place did.

I actually went there at one point. 2000 maybe. We were there to see mamas side of the family. I remember being like "this is the same thing as the orlando one but still AWESOME"

Disney needs to update this ride in WDW, the other versions are vastly superior. For example, Disneyland's Different categories for point targets, can take the gun out, the gun confirms it hit the target (player feedback), and its more accurate, the WDW run is so run down its not even funny.

I rode it recently and the ride got stuck when we were in the star tunnel with the 360 screen. Starts to hurt your damn eyes after awhile staring at how fuzzy the images on the screen are.

"If you had wings" must've inspired that Simpsons episode where they go to a airline theme park and one of the rides sounds exactly like it(minus the airplane mech overlords! XD)

This brings back fond memories. My parents and I would sign up for a FastPass slot, then get in line to pass the time. I swear we went through it 4 or 5 times in a row. Another note about the ride/game interactivity mentioned at 13:31. There was another ride that used a similar concept. The exit area for Mission Space in WDW had a game where two teams would complete tasks and race rockets. This tied into an online game that could be played on Disney's website. It looks like Space Race is still in the post show area, but I can't find a trace of the online game.

This ride is always so much fun, and I always try to hop on at least once whenever I visit WDW. Also, god, I remember the Disney Quest ride. It broke down at least 5 times per round because the balls would jam the car movement.

I liked seeing the concept art in this video...don’t think I’ve ever really seen it before now. Also learned a few things that I didn’t know too. I have great memories of this ride especially the first time I went on it. I was obsessed with Buzz Lightyear and watched the tv series all the time and had the toys and I even had a Buzz play tent that looked like a spaceship. Obviously this ride was on the top of my to do list and when I went on this ride my 7 year old self was in pure heaven.

"If you had wings" was never unpopular. It was a popular attraction. The only reason it was discontinued was because Eastern was no longer able to sponsor it. The short wait times were due to the omni-mover ride system that allow for continuous movement.
