All my life i’ve been rather gluttonous and never listened to what my body really needed. Never exercising or anything of the sort. About 6 months ago, I got a gnarly knee injury. The pain from the injury at first was unbearable to the point i was nearly bed ridden for the first month after, wearing knee braces as sparingly as possible so as not to weaken my already damaged knee. Since then my knee never really regained its strength, it is so weak that i have difficulty climbing stairs. I digress. Long story short, my legs feel incredible after following this video. At the end as i was laying on my back, i nearly broke into tears because of how much better it felt. Thank you so much for this. This is officially part of my daily routine.

I have recently hit 300 pounds. I had some knee pain before but now it is affecting my hips and my back. When I get up in the morning I am so stiff and sore everywhere. My mobility is that of a 50 year old and I am half that age. I’m starting to gain my mobility back with this video. Every morning. Today is my first day and my hips and knees feel great. I’m so excited to start seeing improvement in my routine as I work towards running and harder calisthenic exercises! Never give up on yourself! Victory is right around the corner!

I'm a total beginner who's too anxious to go to in-person classes--and my anxiety has kept me from exercising where people can see me. Yesterday, I wanted to give yoga another chance in hopes of (finally) doing something good for my body, but was feeling really discouraged when a (beginner!) routine I tried in an app made my knees hurt really bad 😔 I found your video today while looking for a knee-friendly routine, and decided to give it a go--and I honestly feel so, so happy and grateful right now. Thank you so much... I think this might be the first time I've ever really enjoyed a yoga session. 🥺🙏❤

@DrMelissaOleson3 жыл бұрын
You're welcome 💕 Yes engaging your core is great, however you want to be careful how you do this. Be careful of just holding your abs tight the entire time. Our core likes to contract and relax and breathing plays a big role in our core! I have a bunch of videos on this. In terms of frequency listen to your body if it feels good to do this a few times a week or every day pick what feels best for your body. Keep up the great work!

My bad knees won't let me bend my knees hard, like "indian style" crossed legs, so when you sit on your bottom and bend your knee to put the sole of your foot on your other thigh, I can't do that.

Some modifications my clients find helpful who have a hard time bending their knees is either putting both legs out straight or sitting in a chair and have 1 leg out straight for that same stretch.
