Last month we focused on the practice and power of getting clear. This month we embrace the fact that the only constant is in fact, change. And so, we practice loving our existence IN THE FLOW. We align with the fact that what goes up, must come down and that struggles are in fact… real. This month, we use the tools of yoga to build strength from the inside out. Ease. Resilience. Flexibility. Joy. Catch A Wave. Get your free yoga calendar via link in description! Love you!

Wow, thank you for this. I'm just starting out with Yoga. I'm not a senior yet, but I have a lot of weight to lose so floor work is VERY difficult for me at this time. But I am so happy with myself that I was able to do this. It was a perfect way to start easing myself into a regular Yoga practice. Thank you, again.

Admire day 17🎉 I needed this after a busy day and a lot of walking yesterday in the mid-day sun. I’m not a senior, but I am thankful for taking today's practice a little slower as I got a bit sunburnt so I'm a bit achy. I should know better than to trust it being cloudy from one part of Auckland and not cloudy in another part 🤦🏼♀️. Thank you, Adriene, for this slower pace and mindful practice, it's great even if you aren't a senior. 💖🧘🏼♀️🙏

Following the Admire calendar here for 2024, and I have to say how perfect these practices have been for me. They have aligned with my cycles quite well. On my period, came some gentle practices, which was perfect for me, and now I am feeling pain in my ovu cycle and this hip work was perfect for opening and strengthening my hips. I needed this.

Admire💝 - February 2024 Yoga for seniors👵 I admire the tenderness that I show to myself. So wonderful to take it slower today and really feel into each movement, allowing me to get closer to my inner being and tend to my energy systems. I feel calmed and cleansed ready for the rest of my evening. We can all learn from the older generations, as can be seen in this practice, that fast and furious is not always the way and a more gentle approach to life is much more supportive. Namaste all🙏✨💓🤗 xx

At 69, one would think that I’ve practiced this one, but I haven’t and found it so refreshing! This is why: you didn’t ask us to do goofy stuff that I’ve seen other senior practices do. That’s why I stick with you, my girl! It followed well with the short yet powerful power yoga. I’m a little sore. And yea for the 71 year old body. Sometimes I feel like I’m the only old person that participates in yoga. I tout it to my old girlfriends, but they all say the same lame excuses, that don’t need repeating. Thank you Adriene! You do your best to reach the seniors! And I’m your biggest cheerleader!❤️🙏

I was afraid this would be too slow, but its amazing how she knows exactly what I need. I too, have been touting the benefits of Yoga to my old girls and actually sent this to a few of them. Looks like Adriene has a whole squad of Senior Cheerleaders!!

I know this is a really old video, but I had to express my gratitude. I have been following you for years, and in the last 8-10 months I have been very ill, battling long-COVID, long tern effects from that, physical injuries, amongst other things and I’ve barely been able to move the last few weeks. I set an intention today to do yoga. I even set an alarm. Obviously a gentle yoga video of yours was my first choice, and I cried within 30 seconds of starting. I can’t tell you how capable I feel now at the end, and how proud I am of myself for getting through it and listening to my body without getting frustrated along the way. 🙏🏽🙏🏽 I can not thank you enough. I will be doing at least this daily until I have built some more strength back. ♥️

Thank you. You don’t even know what this video means to me. Bad car accident, led to memory loss inducing (24/7) pain, loss of 50% muscle and control over my legs for two years, then spinal surgery. Deficit upon deficit. I was trying to do my favorite yoga from you as my therapy finished, but would end up in tears because I didn’t have the strength or control. Then I found this. Thank you, thank you. It was gentle, it was slow, and my broken body could mostly keep up, which was an incredible encouragement to my soul. Thank you…

Well, I turned 80 a few months ago. I do lead an active, joyful, and productive life as a gentleman farmer, but recognize that I have grown stiff. A dear friend recommend you to me, and after a search on "beginning yoga for seniors" was delighted to find that yours came up first! In watching this for the first time I see again how 'speedy' I am, wanting to pause and step away from watching after about a third of the way through and start the laundry, but I didn't!! My next step is to actually get on the floor, which is easy for me, and follow along with you as you do the poses. Paying attention to breath seems like a very good direction for me in the future. Thanks for the great video! You have a wonderful, living poise that is restful yet engaging.

Thank you Adriene. I had eye surgery almost six weeks ago and I have been unable to do anything at all. So when your December plan landed on Sunday I thought - okay lets get back to this and get active for Christmas. Well my anxiety about the eye and the creaking body made me look through the wonderful array of classes. I had hoped to leap back in with an all dancing all moving class but good sense took over - for once - and I just completed the Slow and Gentle yoga, which was fab.. I was probably overly cautious but I so enjoyed moving again that I am going to seek another one for tomorrow and re-build my strength and get back into the flow. I felt you and the community, were right there with me and I thank you. 🥰

Apr 29, 2022 05:53 Intention : close my eyes and notice my breath What if I tell you that by just breathing mindfully you could lose weight and change your body inside and out says a senior yogi when I was still attending gym classes. She saw me huffing and puffing on the treadmill but don't have the discipline on eating habits after the workout, then she introduced me to yoga and I remember her through this video because this sequence is almost the same thing we did the first time I attended yoga class with her. Since that day I carry that wisdom with me, and although there are some ups and downs on my yoga journey, I am glad that I finally found a channel to help me commit to a lifestyle that will benefit me as long as I can mindfully breathe. I don't think I would have sought out this particular video on my own, but what a joy. A new and lovely way to explore warrior II. Thank you for including this video in Admire 2024!

I had a terrible accident 9 months ago and broke both of my legs from 3 different places. since then I was totally disconnected with my body and I was in so much pain. Had two surgeries and have many metal rods inside my legs. I used to be able to follow your most challenging videos and had such good time practicing with you. Thought I’d never be able to have that joy ever again. However, today for the first time in months I had the best half an hour with you. Thank you so much Adriene. Knowing what you and your body capable of, you slowing down just for us is amazing. God bless you.

I am grieving the loss of a much loved family pet this week and couldn’t face my usual high energy, high impact workouts. I still feel as if I’ve had a full body workout and very much appreciated this calm, gentle routine that soothed the soul as well as working the body. Thank you so much

Thank you for this gentle practice. I have had internal shingles for 3 months affecting my entire left side of my body and Fibromyalgia for almost 30 years. I needed the most gentle yoga practice to get my body moving again - this was perfect. I look forward to moving to more of your videos as I get stronger and recover from the shingles. Btw, I’m 47. Senior level yoga is a great place to start for illness recovery in my opinion.

Blessed Beloved Beauties! Admire Day - 17 is refreshing and peaceful. I forgot about this session. The last time I practiced it was 1 year ago. How do you all feel? I'm really focused on going to work on my part time gig and returning to study. Best wishes, everyone! 🦋❤️🦋

Blessed Beloved Beauties! I adore Day - 11 of Begin. The soft, focused, melodic movements combined with the breath is healing. I needed this to start my practices for the day: 2 more yoga studies, calisthenics, weight training and a 🏃🏿♀️ run before I leave the house this afternoon. Best wishes everyone! Namaste and Ase! 🦋♥️🦋

After a long time recovering from a knee injury and some pulled muscles I’m back to doing yoga again. Yay - I forgot how enjoyable it is! But at 66 I really want to avoid injuries and would love to see a whole series of yoga for seniors. Maybe you’ve already done one and I just couldn’t find it? Anyway I love doing yoga with you!!! Thank you!

Ihave been doing YWA for two and a half years, through the pandemic. I am 77 years old.the last few weeks I have been dealing with an injury for which I could not do yoga for 3 weeks. I am back again, but very gently so found this lovely practice to ease back in to yoga.I feel now the engine is oiled and I am back to it.

Just discovered this site. I am 68 and starting completely over with my practiced. I stopped after 25 yrs to move cross country and got hrs breast cancer treatment. I realized a few days ago, that at my age you don’t pick up where you left off. I committed to starting completely over. My intention will be to start here. Thank you.

This slow, slow practice is soothing, calming, gentle and really for senior seniors. At the same time it is a gentle workout for my arthritis, all good, feeling very sleepy though 🙂 ! I might swap tomorrow’s practice for a shorter one as I’m supporting someone doing a 24 hour endurance cycle race ! 🧘🏼♀️🧘🏻♀️🙏💕

at 71 I have completed 3 of the wonderful 30 days of yoga without missing a day. My first attempt I got about half way through and then did 6 days in hospital. Lion's Breath aftermath. So I started over when I healed and have completed 3 rounds, signed up for new one in January 2021. I have osteoporosis and scoliosis and hear my spine pop through almost every move. I could not do plank until this fall when I went from NO way to holding for 45 seconds. Go figure. Really enjoy the class and how I feel after. Benjie being there helps me calm myself as this is first time in my life living without a dog. Love Adriene's support and humor. Can't wait for January 1!

Thank you so much Adrienne for this lovely, gentle yoga routine. I injured my back some time ago and have been unable to do my yoga practice but this is helping me slowly build up my strength again. I am a senior and have been practicing yoga for around 50 years, so its been hard not being able to do my usual practice. My Labrador and cat sometimes joins me also, loved seeing your dog! Thank you!!

Really nice even if you're not a senior, because it's so relaxing, and there's so much time to play around with the poses without getting left behind. Her emphasis on the breath in this one is great because it's exactly the constant reminder I need. Another delightful Adrienne video.
