To practice yoga Nidra, find a quiet and safe place during a time where you won't be distracted or disturbed. Place a mat or a blanket on the floor and use as many props, blankets or pillows to keep your body comfortable laying on your back.
Relax yourself and allow your mind to drift into a calm state of non doing. If you sleep or drift between awake and asleep states this is fine you will benefit from the practice regardless, just focus on being as relaxed as possible, knowing that, if necessary, you will be able to respond if any emergency or important event arises.
