Excellent tips. I hadn't thought of the amount of body weight being used to get into cow face pose. I see how this is very much an assisted stretch that uses a lot of force, while your alternatives allow for a more active stretch. I will definitely look to incorporate the active stretches into my sequences including the times that cow face pose isn't the pose being worked toward. Thank you!
