We will focus on strengthening the muscles that contribute to better posture:
* Working on Core Strength. Not only the abdominal muscles but also the spine (back muscles) and hip flexors that make up the torso and contribute to good posture.
We will also focus on stretching out muscles that when tight cause poor posture:
#Stretching out the Shoulders and chest. When these vital muscles are tight they tend to pull us into a rounded position through the shoulders leading to tension and pain in the neck and even causing headaches.
Stretching hips flexors and quads. When tight these powerful muscles pull us into a hunched position due to tension in those areas, leading to hip and lower back pain after a day of sitting at the desk.
Having a straighter posture helps you stand taller, sit with comfort and ease on any surface, even the ground. Good posture helps you feel more confident and powerful in your physical body. But best of all good posture reduces pain and tension, as the surrounding core muscles are strong enough to hold you straight, and the tension from tight muscles is released allow that range of motion.
