What many perceive as “core work” is in reality a deep layer of the centering journey. One that really highlights the questions: Where am I moving from? Where do my gestures come from? Why do these questions matter!? We are almost one week in! How are you feeling after your Day 6 practice?

I've been enjoying the journey so far! Although today I struggled a lot, my lower back was on fire (not in a good way). I wasn't sure how to modify the poses so I had to stop a lot 😔 Years of picking up and working with animals has taken its toll on my back. I hope this will be the only instance, and I can fully participate in the remaining practices ❤️

I've had to cheat a little by doing modifications and less repetitions, and I still can feel them burning... I know I have poor core strenght and I'm here to feel stronger, so. Good for YOU ALL and for myself :) Lots of Love 🤍

For those that are following the Center journey and are a few days behind, keep going! You got this! Today's date is not as important as the fact that today is the day for some yoga practice. 2023 will be the first year in 16 years that I'm not drinking, and I owe so much to Adriene for helping me discover my own strength, that I indeed can quit alcohol and quit it proudly. When I want to drink, I breathe. I center. I move. Thank you for helping me find my center and showing me that I don't need alcohol to be there

These videos come out at 6am in Ireland, and somehow I have been waking up in time without an alarm clock! It's like my body is looking forward to it! I love the energy of practicing with so many others at the same time. My heart to yours, all my friends in the YWA community!

Fantastic fair play! Also in Ireland but up feeding the baby and with a sick child so just fitting them in whenever, but hopefully I can join for at least one 6 am session. Very powerful practicing together as a community 🙏

I’m in Ireland too, haven’t quite made 6am but you can still see how many people are practicing at any time by looki mg under the video - it’s usually 4-6k at around 7/7.30am which is pretty amazing! I did it in 2021 and it’s great if you start a little later and as the month goes on it gets brighter and brighter outside!

Thanks everybody for showing up! This series I'm focusing on not pushing myself, as I am ill and need to let my body relax, which is really new to me and also somewhat uncomfortable. Especially during practices like these where I normally would fully push myself, and now took several breaks. I am very proud however that I took it at my own pace and will not let my critical voice ruin this for me ;) And by sharing it here, I have just reinforced that! Thank you and namaste.

My first day joining live! Lots of breaks and modifications where a year ago I would have probably been able to do another rep, but I listened to my body and stuck with it and that's what matters. So grateful for this community, keep it up everyone ☺️☺️

“Where am I moving from?” I cannot believe in 20 years of dancing and 10 years of gymnastics, this is the first time I’ve done core work without my neck hurting. A lightbulb finally flipped on. Hugging in the low ribs AND drawing naval to spine 🤯 never been explained to me as the keys to preventing my core work coming from my neck until now. Wow. Thank you as always Adriene

Omg today was a tough one, had to pause the video a couple of times to re-center myself, and I kept getting really frustrated with myself. Anyone else struggle with not being as fit as they used to be? It’s so hard to show myself grace in these moments, but I’m here and I’m trying 🙏 and that’s all I can do. Thank you Adriene ❤ I don’t know how you stay so cool, calm and collected during such a strenuous practice, you’re a badass 💪

When Adriene said "we are almost done" I thought "oh no darling, I'm done already" 🤣. This one was a killer but I made it till the end! I hope all the thousands of people that did this class with me survived too. We see tomorrow for Day 7. Day 6 in!!🎉🎉

This practice reminded me how we can be very strong in some parts of our bodies and not at all in others - so far all the other practices have been a breeze for me, but I had to take three breaks during this one! Clearly my core needs some love. Hello to the 4,000 people who rose to the challenge with me! Here's to another Day 6 tradition.

So true! This is actually the first practice I DIDN’T struggle through. I had been feeling so weak and this showed me that I DO have some strength in this body!

wow for me it was the opposite. I found this one to be easy but i struggled in the previous videos. Especially the downdog with one leg or the lunges where we have to put our hands up. I am getting better at them tho so yay

I missed this day in the first week and figured that I would get back to it at the end of the 30 days. At this point, my depression has weighed in heavily and I have missed 5 days of practice in a row. I will continue on again tomorrow, starting with day 11, so I figured I may as well squeeze day 6 in here. I'm proud of myself for showing up today. Lots of love to everyone ❤

The infamous day 6! In the spirit of yoga being poetry, I want to share one of Mary Oliver's poems titled "First Yoga Lesson:" “Be a lotus in the pond,” she said, “opening slowly, no single energy tugging against another but peacefully, all together.” I couldn’t even touch my toes. “Feel your quadriceps stretching?” she asked. Well, something was certainly stretching. Standing impressively upright, she raised one leg and placed it against the other, then lifted her arms and shook her hands like leaves. “Be a tree,” she said. I lay on the floor, exhausted. But to be a lotus in the pond opening slowly, and very slowly rising- that I could do.

I completed this 30 day journey a few months ago and remembered "Fan." I remembered having a harder time with it last time, which was very encouraging to me. It's a great workout. Thanks for challenging me Adriene!

Day 6/30 was hard for me. After birth my core is out of any shape. So I strugled with this video. But I am happy that I tried my best. 💪🧘‍♀️ To all of you who strugle too...we will get stronger. We just need to practice. 💪🙏

I had my third child over a year and a half ago and getting the flexibility and mobility has been difficult but I am strong and you are also a strong Momma! Taking time for ourselves is key!✌️❤️

I had my second baby a year ago, and just now feel like I'm more myself again. My core is still very weak, though to be fair it wasn't as strong as it could have been prior to pregnancy. I haven't done this one yet, but I know it'll be hard for me too. Way to go mama, we got this 🤍

Same! I had my fist baby 4 months ago and after lots of post partum Pilates, I am back on the yoga mat just trying to take it easy and show some love to my belly. But man did that single leg stretch feel intense!!! Every time I think I’ve “recovered” from delivery I find a new way that baby has changed my body. Learning to love my new mother body. Also still really glad to have more room for my bladder and lungs again!!! Glad to be on this journey together 🙏🏼

And my kitties rolled on their backs and showed me their plump bellies, I appreciate them for showing up with me! Lol! As I finish up and have my palms to forehead I open my eyes and out the window the sun is rising, good morning and have an amazing day everyone!!

As a man I always perceived Yoga as a girly thing, just bending and stretching a little. But having been following your sessions for a year now, I realised that how hard it is, but in the end of each practise I always feel stronger and more peaceful than ever. I know I am a week behind, with this journey, but better late than never. Thank you for everything, I really apreciate everything you do!

Today was tough to get on the mat. One of those days where you put everything else first ...kids, family, work...I got to 10pm and thought no way.... however inner voice was telling me to just start, need to recharge myself too...and then I got to press play. The smile on my face when Adriene said lets start on our backs...yes! However was a tough one. Got to the end! Yay! Namaste everyone

Hi, how are you all today? Yikes Day 6 is a tough one! I certainly needed to listen to my body today as I have some upper back and neck issues and quickly realised that, sadly, today's practice wasnt going to be good for me. So I stayed with you all in spirit, modified my practice to gentle stretches and child's pose before joining the rest of the class again in corpse pose at the end. I applaud everybody who completed today's practice 👏👏👏 you are strong. See you all tomorrow🙏😀

Well done for listening to your body! I had to modify and take breaks because of illness as well. But at least we showed up and thats what its all about. It really helps me to know that I am not the only one who was to take it slower at times.

Oh Adriene! For over three years between 2018 and 2022 you were my daily guide and teacher as I committed myself to yoga and felt the immense physical, emotional and spiritual benefits. In 2022 I became pregnant, it was a surprise and (as I was also working as a landscape gardener full-time) the physical side of it hit HARD.. and I was not strong enough to maintain my daily yoga practice. My weakness got the best of me, I indulged in rich and sugary treats almost daily to deal with (or avoid) my emotions and I became soft, gaining far more weight than I would have liked to (when I was doing daily yoga with you I was slim, feeling light, with a similar body type to yours) and it has taken me until now, over a year and a half later, to return to your yoga practice. I am on my sixth consecutive day and it feels like coming home. I now have a sweet one year old crawling over me as I move through the postures, and my body isn't as sculpted as it was, but I am recommitting to the process, the presence, the practice, and it feels so, so, so good. You are truly a gift and we are so lucky to have you as a guide. Namaste ❤❤❤

This video is genius. I think it taught me perfectly how to engage my core. I’ve spent all my life trying to engage it in a wrong or uncomfortable way but this slow exercise at the beginning was KEY to finally unlock this skill. Thank you Adrienne!

I often feel alone and depressed but doing yoga everyday has put a routine into my life and even some kind of balance. I have been doing your videos consistently for 3 years and this is my 3rd 30 days of yoga challenge. I hope you continue making these so that, at least for a month, I can feel less alone and scared.

I really appreciated the break from planks and downward facing dogs today - my arms just won't stop shaking during those! Today was nice and calm, and I could really focus on my breath instead of that little voice in my head trying to tell me "it's too hard for you, you should quit." This is my first journey with you, and it's been challenging and fun so far. I can't wait to see what's next!

Oh how I have missed Adriene, I’m so glad I have started back up. This is probably the most vocal I have been with this years videos. Laughing, shouting and definitely bringing the fire to abs I’ve not used in a long time. I love Adriene support throughout our cheerleader even when she’s reminding you to relax shoulders when your attempting to keep legs in the air ha ha. Love it and ouch it works 😂❤

Today was really hard for me, I went to the gym yesterday and did an ab-workout so my abs are sore as hell and I could only do half of the exercises today. I thought about skipping todays video because I knew I wouldn't be able to do all exercises properly but I still did and I'm so glad I did because I tried to see today as a challenge to accept where I am and how much I can do today and it wasn't the whole video but instead of lowering my legs I just hugged them in from time to time, gave myself a hug and breathed. Then I joined some exercises again and took a break as soon as I needed to. Even if that meant that at least half of the video I just hugged my knees in and breathed. But I was there. In the moment. On my mat. I showed up for myself. I hope some of you who could't do all of the exercises were able to see the video in that perspective too! Every year on day six I'm afraid I won't be able to do it. Sometimes I am and I'm so proud of myself afterwards. But on other years/days I'm not and we should all accept and appreciate these days too. Show up, listen to your body and do what's best for you in that moment. Even if that means your day six is just laying on the floor, breathing for 19 minutes. Lots of love to everyone !!!

Somewhere at the end of the leg lifts, I caught myself saying "I can't, I can't, I can't!" and then immediately countered with, "I can, I can, I can." When you said, "You got this!" I hope we all said, "I got this!" Day 6, done! Yay!
