as a 49 year old American wife and mother, i'd never heard of hooning til i read an article in the daily mail today about a cop and her lady who were terrorized by youth gangs in both Broome and Halls Creek (looking back, the kids probably coveted their camper van to hoon in). one of the photos showed a truck upside-down in the road, with *hooning* in the caption, so i came straight to youtube to see what i've been missing. i chose this video solely because of your name (cunt is one of the words i use the most). all i can say is that this is the shit i WISH i could do. unfortunately due to health issues i'm no longer driving, but if i get to the point that i'm fully handicapable and need a wheelchair, im totally going to hoon like the kid in the video around the wet floor sign; i'll lay down some fat skids, and maybe even try a launch ramp. hell, i can even do it on a jet ski! thank you, yurak hunt, for showcasing this amazing Australian motorsport; i can tell that you're a guy who's truly cultured and wants to share his knowledge- i feel i've learned so much from just this one video. now i'm off to watch the rest of 'em! for real, though- your deadpan delivery and wit make this super funny. i can't wait to show this to my mechanic husband later; i'm sure he'll get a kick out of that welded bit in there. 😂😂😂

Can tell you, back in 2011, was in this XF Ute my dad owned & he did a pretty decent skid (for something with the 3-speed & old carby 4.1 six) in broad daylight, in the street where we lived at the time. A small town, and this was done right near the copshop, was literally around the corner & a few buildings up the road. Ended up getting pinched for it later though. This skid was done by an at the time, 63 year old man. In a light blue ex-SAPOL XF Ute, which just added to it. And i'll admit, gave my 17 year old self a good grin that day.

I totally agree with you about why old farts complain, the other reason though, is that when we got our first car, they were really gutless ie; EH holdens or 4 cylinder Toranas or Cortinas. We used "liquid horsepower" (ours was a mixture of tap water and dishwashing liquid) and needed our mates to lift the rear mudguards up while we stood on the loud pedal to get smoke from our tyres. It still just boils down to being jealous.

My missus was on her way to drop off a few ounces of shard at around 4am in Ferntree Gully a few years ago when she got a bit excited about the new turbo back, catless straight pipe on my TMR tuned Evo X and opened the taps coming out of the Burnley tunnel. The cops nicked her after she had backed off around Mt Waverley. She was still doing 310kmh -allegedly- and she somehow talked her way out of it. (Maybe the knee high boots, little shorts made of see through plastic, halter top and pink pigtails helped, along with her dad being a fairly high ranking retired copper). Hooning with real dedication and panache, or recklessly endangering the payload and my car, I couldn't decide. If that was me I'd probably have got the bill for crushing the car sent to me in gaol after a prolonged bashing in the cells (bail denied) but she came home with the car and the money looking rather pleased with herself. Bro, why don't you have 100k subs at least?
