I wish more people thought that way, “if your gonna do it may as well do it right” especially people working on your car or truck.

That’s been a mantra of mine for the last few decades. Don’t waste your time & $$$ doing a half assed job, do it right the first time and move to the next job.

Perfection cannot be hurried, plus you're getting some great bodywork experience that will payoff the next time you want to do something really clean. You have a great work ethic and the end product shows.

I just got my 1990 4x4 SR5 extra cab into clear coat last week. What a relief to have all the bodywork behind me. Hey, thanks for showing the Dura block kit. I have been racking my brain trying to remember where I got that green sponge bar soap from. It came in my Dura block kit. Great soap for dirty hands.

Looks good. Do yourself a favor and go to Harbor Freight and get a set of hammers and dollies for hammering out the dents. Very affordable and nice to have. But yeah, looking good so far.

I had a similar dent in the rear guard, where it wasnt accesable. I removed the tail light and found round water washed rock with the same radius as the curve on the guard. Using a tyre lever and a wooden block as a fulcrum I gently levered the dent out. It came out so good hardly any filler was needed.

The reason they say not to put bondo over paint is because of adhesion but if you rough up the paint with 80 grit it will stick good. Leaving the paint underneath protects against rust especially on lower panels. Bondo can wick up moisture and accelerate rust

I've found that it helps when you heat the metal up around and in the dent with a heat gun.

"Not to get too personal, no, we don't know you. Plus, they called him Edge because he's a collection of broken bones. Whites are not all of the same, plus, Graceland and Greek we're not the same Hotel California balcony, and, by the way, I'm not canadian, I don't have a picture disk of War and that's a difference, not a reference. The good thing about Daft Punk? Not giving my wife a MP3 player, because Mom died... What about Palermo, instead, would an average server make it easier for Us to leave these broken places where they'd spill beers of a lost game?! Do you still break wood to concentrate that Maple Syrup or it was 'too dark' for a wiser cat?!" 🗨🙄🏛🍁🚧🐱🌵

All that body work, sanding, only to then cover it with something bumpy, dull, and that is going to hold dirt on the truck. Not my favorite option. Love the vid though.
