you matter, you got this, believe your dream as it's already here. (opinions my own)
So this is my success story with ending the suffering from anxiety and depression at two points in my life. (Lexapro vs. Zoloft) I currently take 5 mg of Lexapro at 8am daily and feel normal now, at first my side effects were Yawning and tiredness But now I virtually have no side effects and feel great. I have very peaceful moments during the day but definitely still have to deal with life and go to work and do things so it's not a magical drug it just got me to a good baseline. 10 years ago I had to took low dose Zoloft, which worked, but took four weeks for it to work but it got me out of a bad state and I stopped taking it after two months but I would say it was a major success I don't remember having side symptoms other than fatigue and dry mouth at the beginning I know other people that are taking it that are having a lot of luck with it.
My hope is that my success story will at least help one person go see someone and find a path through medicine, diet or exercise that can get them out of their depressive or anxious state.
It is not normal to constantly have negative thoughts and ruminate all the time about things that are not absolutely critical in your life it is very exhausting and I look forward to a point that you or your loved one can get into a comfortable state that you were designed to be in and enjoy this world while you are still here.
You are worth it please believe in yourself and realize that there is another side. Mucj love and respect as you conquer this - love Ryan

It really is so true. For years I battled it walking, running, sports, holidays, meditation, breath work, yoga, cold showers, comedy, alcohol all whilst working pretending to the world I was enjoying my life. 4 weeks on Sertraline and I can feel it’s working. I can see peoples smiles that people are genuinely being friendly and not feeling like they feel sorry for me. I feel I can start to pick up a new Hobbie and enjoy it. I feel I can get a new job that isn’t so mundane as mine is. I’m sorry but it works and no amount of exercise will get you out of it.

Some life stressors have contributed to my depression, betrayal is a terrible thing to experience. Most especially, when people lie about your character. Anyway, when depression and hopelessness sets in it’s a terrible terrible place to be at when all you think about is suicide, ending the pain, and isolation sets in. People think you can pray yourself out from depression, some say it’s a choice, some may say you’re feeling sorry for yourself, etc etc but the just don’t know because they’re not you. Words can kill you, they have power. So be mindful of what you say or do when someone is in pain. Real depression stops you from living a life, robs you of joy, makes you doubt, makes you feel worthless, depression lies to you. To the point that you believe it and end up doing the unthinkable. If a pill helps, helps to create a baseline or at least a lifeline then who cares? In order for anyone to accomplish anything they have to be on the right mindset. Nothing will work without having your mindset right, exercise, meditation, talk therapy, love, etc etc nothing will until your mind gets into a happy place for you to take action… not sure if “happy” is the right word to use, but I hope the message will be understood.

I have severe health anxiety, and ruminate about EVERYTHING regarding my health. I lost several very close friends and relatives in the last few years and then the Pandemic struck, spiraling me into a deep place. Thank you for making this video. During the first wave of covid and being stuck at home for months on end, my battle with anxiety and depression became a losing one. I could no longer find joy in anything and I was an anxious mess every day. I have battled with mainly anxiety for the past 10 years (19 years old to currently 29). I started with Zoloft at 25mg. Personally I found the side effects to be quite bad. I felt nauseous, dizzy and just kind of "gross" for the first couple weeks. My doc told me to up it to 50mg a day. I did so, and after a 3-4 weeks I started to get past the nausea and dizzyness stuff for the most part - but it was drying me out SO badly. My mouth, my eyes, my entire body felt like a dry sponge. I already deal with dry eyes and I just simply could no longer take the side effects of it. I just recently have been experienced another bout of heavy anxiety day to day that is killing me. I was in the ER this morning for 6 hours because I was experiencing leg pain and weird symptoms which I believe to be from my Pfizer 1st shot 2 weeks ago that havent gone away. I was very worried I had a blood clot and I was literally shaking like a leaf with racing thoughts. They did all the tests needed and there is NO blood clot and I have nothing to worry about - except now im sitting here thinking I need to try round 2 of kicking this anxiety shit that rules my life to the curb. I am going to take a shot at lexapro as I have seen quite a couple succes stories with it, including your own! Very happy I stumbled across your channel because I also love your niche of videos, right up my alley! AWESOME ! Hope you are doing well!! Thank you again for putting your personal story out there. Soo awesome! Thank you! Excellent points and I love that you said don’t waste time. I agree about medications. I had nonsense from doctors telling me for years, don’t take medication, just calm yourself down “naturally”. Just like you said, if you aren’t calm or have that baseline of calmness, meditation, etc isn’t going to work. “Willing yourself doesn’t always work.” And definitely everyone is “worth it!” Having a great life and living your best life! I've been crap in a bag for about 4-5 months now. Wife has had to push me to therapy. Glad im going. On second visit my therapist recommended a psychiatrist and possbily Lexapro. Ive been on Zoloft in the past but maybe not long enough for it to work right because i felt lower than i was before getting on it. I have an appointment on Feb 11th. Im looking forward to it. Ive felt overwhelmed, fear of future failure both at work and at home. I've felt mostly in a rut lately and that everything has become cyclical with no joy in even the hobbies I love. Ive felt like even the simplest of tasks are agitating and or inconvenienced by them. I've not been the most attentive father or husband and felt less in control of my life. The real me normally chases a dream amd pursues it until real, loves on people and inspires others to do the same. Lately all I've done is "try to blend in with the furniture" as my saying goes to not be bothered by others. I hate this feeling. I understand sometimes its okay to escape your reality, but the truth is I don't have time for that. I hope whomever is watching this video gets the help the need/deserves. I know where you are right now. I feel how you feel right now. It sucks the life out of you. Get help. Listen to your spouse when they have concerns about your well being. Get yourself back. Here's to a better you. ❤

Hah, I've been visiting your channel for a few years now and this video is gold! I'm sitting here with a bottle of Lexapro that I haven't opened and I have convinced myself not to start it because I can't afford to have side effects reduce my productivity in my business right now. We're going through some other things here related to our child's mental health, in large part because of Covid, and so I have also justified not taking it so I can be 100% for my family at all times without worrying about medicine issue. I told myself that I don't have the luxury of experimenting with an SSRI right now, considering the potential pitfalls. Your video is making me rethink that position, and I really appreciate your honesty. We need more people to stand up and talk about their mental health issues these days, because it's a HUGE problem in this country. We've built a society that is manufacturing people who are sad, angry, anxious, depressed, confused, overloaded, overworked, underpaid, and underappreciated - among other negative things. Thank you, sir, and I hope you are still doing great! It has been about a year since you made this video, I'd love to see a follow-up if you can spare the time!

Thank you for this. I started therapy sessions recently and have ptsd and depression, anxiety. I also have a medication appointment with the doctor at the same place I'm going to therapy to. I have tried Buspar few months ago for anxiety before I went to therapy and it did nothing for me but made me incredibly restless and I could not sleep. The one who prescribed me it was just a nurse practitioner who just met me. But I used it for 4 weeks before stopping. Ever since then I put off therapy and seeking help until one problem or thought became another problem or thought and it's like a snowball. Finally I took the dive and signed up for therapy. I was so scared of it and it still scares me because I'm scared of the feelings. But I want to start low dose as possible with whatever medication the medication doctor wants me on after diagnosing me. I don't want to be extremely restless or lose sleep like I did on Buspar. I thank you for saying I am worth it and it is worth a shot to try it out. Because I guess I'll never know until I try it. I'm glad you're feeling better yourself.

For people with severe OCD and depression, the positives can come later with these SSRI medications. Mine wasn't helped until week 10 or so. Even then maximum effectiveness didn't come until weeks 15 and past that. This is in line with research with OCD....higher does and longer times for effectiveness. It was brutal though to start waiting for them to work. At the 6 month mark, I was feeling much much different.

This is the first time I'm watching one of your videos. Actually I wanna know about people who overcame their depression and anxiety. I'm 25 and I have been in this place ever since my adulthood. School and College were a worst phase where I was constantly bullied and somehow finished it. There was a lot going Inside my mind. The worst thing is heart pain. Whenever I feel fear I feel pain in my heart. As the months go by it got really worse. I had been hospitalized twice for severe heart pain and I know it's bcoz of the fear and depression. Infact there always a rush in my mind about past and future and I never lived in present. I just existed. I don't know anyone from school or college would even remember me. Always pain in my heart. Pain became permanent. It became even worse. I couldn't walk. I couldn't even for 5 minutes. My heart would start paining. So Stayed inside home. Gained weight. And suffered all other things with it. Thought Suicide is a better option than suffering and dying everyday from inside. But the thoughts of my family kept me going even if they don't understand what's going on inside me. Many times while going to sleep I wasn't sure if I would be alive in the morning. I didn't trust medication. But it was the only choice I had left. So saw a doctor. He prescribed sertraline 25mg in the morning and escitalopram 10mg, nitrazepam 10mg at night for 3 months. It's been 3 months since I started taking the medication. I'm not over the depression and fear yet also some pain but I'm feeling better. I don't know if there will be any side effects. But sure it will outweigh the pain and sufferings. Apart from medications your own will and determination matters. I read that people die of suicide bcoz of depression. Fear, anxiety, depression is real. Pain is real. But there is always a way. For me medication helped. But I'm not completely alright. But I'm better. It's the first time I am speaking openly about myself to anyone. Anyone who are reading this please know I have lost count of fearing that I wouldn't see the next day of my life because of the heart pain. My situation was worse than anyone could possibly imagine. It was almost like a heart attack I don't know how many times. My heart filled with severe pain as I Was struggling to breathe. I stayed on the floor for hours for the pain to reduce. Only god knows how many times. I fought with my mind and body everyday just to stay alive. But I'm still breathing. As long as you are alive you can atleast try for yourself, for your life. Noone is coming to save you. People are busy with their own life. It's your life. Your responsibility. I trying out and doing some things and I hope I will be free from these bad things soon. From my experience I tell you guys instead of all those suffering life is still worth fighting for. Life is beautiful and precious. Believe in yourself. You are going to be happy, loved and most importantly love ❤️. I wish everyone a happy, prosperous, healthy and beautiful life. Thank you 🙏

Going through major depression but starting treatment with meds. The first week is not going great but as you say, I've got to stick with it as it takes some time for them to start working. I've been watching every video I can on the side effects of Lexapro and the long-term results, and yours is by far the best I've watched. Your obvious passion for getting this message out and the encouragement to fight this insidious disease is affirming my desire to beat it. I've too many loved-ones to give in and give up. The consequences scare the hell out of me. Thanks

Thanks for this man. Very appreciated it. I'm staring at the lexapro and buspirone bottles right now. Been prescribed them for years....never have taken them. I think I will try now.

Why 2 ? Seems like you’ll never know what works, use busbar sparingly. Be well. Your peace is what matters.
