Bellingham is incredibly overrated. He’s great at getting on the ends of things, arriving late in the box and scoring goals but he’s not creative in any shape or form and if you think he is then you don’t watch him week in week out at Real. He doesn’t link the play and play through balls which what England are missing massively. Switching foden to the 10 position. He’s far more suitable than Bellingham in that position.

On reading an Article from the Chelsea Chronicle yesterday these stats popped up.. Chelsea ace has interesting statistic at Euro 2024 England have scored just four goals in their four matches so far at the tournament, which includes Harry Kane’s extra-time winner against Slovakia. It’s been pretty evident that the attack has struggled for large stages. That’s why so many supporters are desperate to see Chelsea’s Palmer play more. FBREF data shares that Palmer is averaging more progressive passes than any England player when he’s on the pitch. These are classified as completed passes that move the ball towards the opponent’s goal at least 10 yards, or any pass into the penalty area. Here are England’s top five players with the highest number of progressive passes per 90 minutes so far at the Euros. Cole Palmer - 11.3 Kyle Walker - 7.21 Trent Alexander-Arnold - 7.14 Kieran Trippier - 6.67 Kobbie Mainoo - 6.00 It’s quite alarming that England attackers Jude Bellingham (4.88), Bukayo Saka (4.32) or Phil Foden (3.51) don’t make the top five of this list. When you take Palmer's and Mainoo's stats into perspective neither player has played 90 mins in total so the actually number would have been probably at least double for these two players. There is nowhere to hide and I am sure Southgate's team has these stats and has done the square root of zero about it. I think there’s a factor here no one seems to be acknowledging. These players aren’t playing in 11 degree Celsius weather in March in Manchester. They are playing and training in upwards of 22 to 30 degree weather. Which makes “playing like your in premier league “ very difficult. Yes it’s not Saudi temperatures. But it’s enough to make it near impossible to press the same way as they would in the Prem. maybe it explains why Spanish teams play with a slow build up, because they are adapted to these conditions and they know a high press for 90 mins just isn’t feasible

Not having a left-footed LB has been the root problem ... we become too predictable in attack out of it. We can't go deep left in attack because a right-footed punt up the field has more tendency to go out of play and it’s harder to cross out of that corner, if we even get it there in the first place. On top of that, the opponent's defenders don't have to hug the touchline as much ... it becomes an easier marshaling job which THEN enables the other defenders to put more pressure on Saka or the 10 in the right side of our attacking zone. We need Luke Shaw healthy or else put Saka there.
