The 08 g35 was also in consumer reports as a best buy for used cars. My interior has also held up really well. The only problem is the rubberized coating on the window/door lock switch trim pieces have degraded. I just painted them my self and they look great now. Overall, the car is reliable, fast and fun.

The fancy scan tool that Scotty uses seems to be really great at reading just about everything with the car. I keep hearing in the videos that it takes a trained mechanic to understand and interpret all of the data given. Would it be possible in the future (or does one exist now) that can interpret the data for you, and tell you the overall condition of the car in layman's terms?

@@xoulmannn The VQ platform has been in many cars and trucks , and has large aftermarket, LS was put into everything as well, and it also has a large aftermarket, so they're very comparable in that regard . I think the key deciding factor being the accessibility not tunability of said platform which is why I think he use that comparison. RBs are dope af but are above average expensive to both purchase and build maintain, K series are cheaper/ more accessible has a large aftermarket, so i can see an argument could be made for the latter.

I have had 3 Infiniti's in a row: i30t, G35x & G37x. All 3 have been very reliable. The i30 was easily over 200K miles...the odometer stopped at 164k, but I went another 2-3 years. I leased the G35 for 2 years, but no problems at all. I currently been in the 2010 G37x with 104K miles. The only problem is the driver door latch system failed & cost $800 to repair. The other comment is they are a blast to drive. I blow away bmw's & audi's all the time from a standing stop. If you down shift w/ the tip tropic, you can really save on brake maintenance. The steering is off the charts as well...tight and good weighting. I am a skier and drive in snow; as good, if not better than an SUV. Trunk has pass thru for skis & lumber. I am going to keep it to 150-200K miles. Highly recommend...

I'm glad to see that you have finally seen the light in regard to to the G series Infinitis, Scotty. For years they have been very highly regarded in terms of reliability and balance between performance, comfort, and luxury. The drivetrains are ultra reliable, especially the manual transmission variants coupled with the engine oil galley fix done from 2011 on. And yes, they are fast good handling cars in stock form, but if performance is your bag, minimal intake and exhaust mods coupled with a good tune REALLY ups the HP, and slight lowering plus slightly thicker sway bars and some sticky tires turn these things into extremely capable back road/track monsters, without affecting ride comfort substantially. The brakes on the S series especially are incredible too, and the net result is a car that is especially rewarding to drive and can put to shame it's German sedan competitors with magnitudes less repair issues. As an added bonus as far as I'm concerned the sedan versions not only offer rear seats that actually fit normal sized humans very well, but are also stiffer and lighter than their zoomy two door coupe sister. What's not to love about these things?
