May naging issue po kami sa recent paguwi dito sa Pinas. We are US citizen. Na hold po kami at hindi pinayagan ng United Airlines na makaalis sa schedule flight namin dahil one way ticket lang ang aming binili. Their reason is we need to buy a return ticket or need visa. We showed them our birth certificate but still they don't allow us to leave. Umuwi kami at tumawag ako sa Philippine Consulate sa Chicago at nagtanong at sinabi nila we don't need a return date or visa much more if we showed our birth certificate. Nagbalik kami sa airport at kinausap namin ang Manager at Filipino supervisor and they booked us at another affiliate airline and was able to leave at later time. I posted this to inform other balikbayans that those domestic airport employees does not know our country's immigration laws and they just enforced what they have in their system.

So happy to listen to your video about the family who was refuse to travel to the Phil. For more than 30 days. It just happened to us last Dec. 6,2022. And I really need your help or advise what to do, kay I send complaint to Qatar airways office, twice, to no avail. Qatar ground steward was asking for a ‘ documentation of our marriage from the Phil embassy’ never heard of such rules!! But Qatar does’nt accept any explanation or see our complete documents , old Phil. Passport, marriage liscence etc. can you please help us on this. But I believe he is just pressing us to buy a new ticket for 30 days. It was a terrible,stressful experience we had, and for future travelling, I really need written support ? To present to the airlines. I have tried all the official office to complain but to no avail. Please , do the airlines have that power ? We really felt powerless on that day.

The one-month stay pertains to foreigners of countries listed under EO 408 whose citizens enjoy visa-free entry to the Philippines. The one-year period pertains to former Filipinos who are now citizens of another country. Their foreign spouse and children are also entitled to visa-free entry and 1 year stay if they are citizens of those countries under EO 408. According to my parents, the majority of former Filipinos wanting to be dual is not about owning property in the Phils. but rather wanting to stay more than 30 days visa-free, say 6 mos. to a year to spend more time with their ageing parents, siblings, relatives and the like. One disadvantage of being dual citizen is kung may nangyari sa iyo sa Pinas like earthquake hindi ka na marescue ng Foreign naturalized country kc alam nila na dual ka at dijan ka sa Bansa mo.But if you are not dual citizen rescue ka na agad ng Foreign citizen at mabilis ang pag rescue nila kaysa Pinas.

there is another type of ofw, sila yung mga investors, they either tie up with locals or put up their own business... and even employ fellow filipinos... yet they are not considered ofws? sana the goverment will recognize these small sectors... kasi pag uuuwi sila they pay all the burden of quarantine fees kasi hindi sila recognized as ofws... sa Europe may ganito ring situation, they buyy their own visa... sana the Government will recognize them as OFWs para naman mabigyan din sila ng mgA benefits ... salamat po...
