As someone who works with puppets, watching the puppet guy was super cringe... I'd never bring one to a date. And whenever I do bring it somewhere unexpected, I bring it in a backpack, take it out for a second to make a funny joke or two, and put it back in... But he didn't even make the puppet interact or even try to make the other person laugh... keeping it awkwardly in his lap like that was SO WEIRD.
