This is actually the view a lot of misogynists have on women who do work online. Parents often stay together for the sake of the kids, so a kid asking their parent to divorce absolutely is the push many parents would need to finally do it. My parents tried to tough their marriage out loooooong after they should have separated, to the severe detriment of everyone involved. What also didn't help was that we were living in the BIble Belt in the Deep South, my mom had NO family down there and Dad came from a religious family. My mom didn't have a job (I don't know if she was forbidden from getting one or if she genuinely wanted to be a stay-at-home-mom) and no means to support herself if she separated, so if she DID separate it would mean having to move at least 5 states away just to be with family, and she wouldn't be able to take my sisters and I along. There's a lot that can and will keep someone in an unhappy marriage, even an abusive one, and some need pushes to do it or the assurance that they are making the right decision. (All this happened more than ten years ago and everything is fine again so no worries) Yeah, this youtuber ABSOLUTELY is being a horrendous, cruel asswallop. He needs his ankles kicked out from underneath him.

This is something I'm seeing more and more lately. A wealthy, able-bodied influencer can talk about their privilege until hell freezes over, and they're usually celebrated for it. However, if a poor and/or disabled content creator talks about their experience living as a poor and/or disabled person (because the two are usually connected, I myself am poor and have a disability), they get accused of faking it, or romanticizing it, or guilt-tripping, attention-seeking, etc. Disabled/poor people get criticized much, much more, and their spending is scrutinized. And there are some able-bodied people that HATE when disabled folks aren't poor, starving and miserable.

As someone who comes from a very VERY family oriented country, it is expected to care and stay with your parent till marriage, and even then when the parent grow old and frail it is expected to care and pay for their everything back, because as you said, it's family. Plus it is even frown upon to sent them to a retirement home, if they do they are seen as awful children, (oh they abandoned their parents) basically. So I highly understand that part of both cultures.
