It's so sad seeing people sleeping on the street, I've been in that situation myself (I was lucky that I had my car so I had relatively secure shelter) I felt that loneliness and it's awful to feel that nobody in the world gives shit. Fortunately we don't have many homeless where I live and I always stop to talk to them let them know there's hope.

The problem with all labour voters especially those under 40 is they vote out of family habit, they are not aspirational in any way..Being a conservative in Liverpool is a dangerous pasttime. The big question though is why Liverpool is always the one that cant accept capitalism. Lawrence has a noble cause but its lost on the people of the city. The manifesto should be growth, accountability and get off your arse and do some work..focussing on 85 people who are homeless wont get them a home or off drugs.A job would.

Brings a tear. Of course it does little for the mentally ill or seriously drug addicted. Those problems need a different and more intense approach.

I gave a thumbs down. I'll tell you why. 4:14 you make comment that other shelters had thrown out anti social homeless people and those with addictions. First off, not everyone has the staff to deal with anti social homeless people. Most are volunteers. Places like yours are a godsend where violent homeless and those with addictions can come to. Not everyone has the means or the money of the skills to deal with violence and addiction. Not all charities can cope with the influx of issues. At least they are out there. Respect for all involved who help. Don't put down other organisations. They are doing their best as well.

You gave a thumbs down, when we gave up our lives and our business to ensure we saved lives, it is a fact that many of our homeless were banned from other Liverpool shelters which is in no way a negative slant on any shelter nor on any individual that puts themselves through the arduous task of caring for the people who suffer with addictions, we merely state, that due to their fractious behaviour we filled that gaping hole and you have a thumbs down. Well done 😂

If you've not said that you're an addiction center, then why does the council have a problem? That's crazy. You're just a big free house where everyone is welcome. What's wrong with that?

Inspiring, wonderful venture. I left Liverpool in 83 in search of work or could easily have ended up like one of those poor, lost souls. Those responsible for interfering in this altruistic scheme need to hang their heads in shame.

The government promised many millions for Councils across the UK,To help the homeless situation in all city's,,The government have not kept there promise unfortunately there's no funding available too fix the situation,Across the city more and more charity organizations and shelters our closing,Rehab cost money it can take up to 3 years to get into rehab,he homeless situation in Liverpool and all over the Uk as become critical ,The homeless are treated like criminals,,city council hire goons too move the homeless on,,The police arrest beggars,Thrown into a cell kept over night and taken to court and fined or given asbos,,it's disgusting,,20 years on and off the street for myself,,I sold the issue,I have stole,I have used drugs ,Drank myself to near death,,I struggle everyday living in a flat, sleeping in a bed,yes am off the street and believe me it's hard,,I received help which many don't get,,I stayed in the salvation army for 3 years,,I got housed, I struggle with mental health and,my health isnt the best,I am off street drugs don't drink,I do take methadone daily,Today as I walk through the street of Plymouth there's more younger people living on the street,,I wouldn't be here today only because of the loving people of kindness especially in Liverpool,,God bless my friends and my many friends who have passed,The street will always be apart of me ,,,

Very sad, we need to change the way we think of homeless, it's not there fault, we can all help in some small way that will make difference to them . The saying is true, none of us are home, until all of us are home.

The wirral council spent millions trying to get a hotel built for the golf course in hoylake. They failed but because of the contract the idiots signed they still had to pay the contractor. Spent millions on an eyesore flood barrier in an area thats never flooded. Spent millions turning a dual carriageway into a single lane with one lane on both sides for cyclists only. Never seen a cyclist use it but it now causes a bottleneck and emergency services cant get through. Millions painting 20mph on the roads then resurfacing the roads ready for the next golf champioships. Signed the wrong contract and are paying a fortune for heating in council offices. Demolishing houses to build new council offices when we have 4 and 2 town halls. Theyre idiots now in government control for misuse of funds and theyre labour! If they think theyll help the homeless think again! They've closed libraries, civic centres, municipal courses and put parking meters in woodland car parks! Vote the clowns out.

Liverpool Council and LCR ignore investment in the core people of the city, Steve Rotherham looked at my plan to create a media hub in L7 for applied supported education, I quoted £3m over 3 years was an indicative figure to help people not go to London, Rotherham gave £18m to JMU for paid education. 3 years later JMU pulled out. I set up the first TV production Co on Edge Lane. Liverpool Film Office refuse to help.
