I love how emotional you are about these characters! And I really appreciated this video. I totally agree with you about how little we saw of Jess and Rory when they were actually together. I suppose it was meant to reflect how in real life how we might meet someone who is right for us when we are too young to choose to be with them for the rest of life. If there is ever a re-re-boot of the show I predict Jess and Rory will have another round of romance. Hopefully!

30 felt a lot older back in the late 90's/early 2000s. LOL about the diaphragm. I agree with your theory about it was the older writers' influence. I remember Friends also referencing the diaphragm. I was in my late teens when SATC first aired, so I'm the eldest of millennials & i have never met a woman who has actually used them. So the older Gen X writer theory tracks.

I really don’t undstand why people hate Lip for treating Fiona the way after the incident. He was in college and was struggling after evb in his family is telling him that he’s setting the curb for evb else in the family. his little brother could’ve died because of his guardian. I’m honestly shocked they did t take away her guardianship because if this was really life, she would’ve lost it. She really didn’t recover after Mike. She kept on going back to his brother to say they were done when all she couldve done was ignore him. She was very self destructive especially after Jimmy Steve left. It’s crazy how she wanted nb to cheat on her but she cheated on literally all her boyfriends. Just reminds me how everyone is flawed in this show. Love her tho 😭

6:20 Richard had a reputation much like Samantha’s, she was promiscuous and carefree about it. She messed around with a married man in the earlier seasons and knew that they never stop or change. Even when they say they will. She knew Richard wasn’t ish and although he had the resources to give her the life she was used to, men like those always come with a warning label. ESPECIALLY when entertaining women with less money and status than him because they’re wooed by the glam. The maid was no different, although we didn’t see it, that man wiggled his willy at anyone attracted to him and what he could offer. She did the right thing. She was wanting to change her ways and settle. He didn’t. God I love this show!!

OT: But you could see what a great actress Kim Cattrall is when the storyline has serious moments and her gaze just intensifies and reveals different parts of the character. That makes Samantha very deep and interesting. Those moments are always short and rare in the whole series but when they're in you remark that immediately. Kim just arrives to get that although they wrote a couple of unsense things around her since that season 🩵💎

I really wish the revival covered more of the early post-yale scenes. For some reason, I had hoped they would at least flashback to the 'post Obama Campaign first job' time period that probably had her riding high for a bit, especially if she was still financially comfortable. Was she able to find a second job right away? Was she more open to jobs not related to her field? Or even her desired writing genre? I have entirely too many questions. Rory and Lorelai are such fascinating characters for me to look at. In some ways, they mirror my mother and I. But, they also help as a guidepost of maybe things I would do differently with my own child. That's what I find so fascinating about analysis videos. People find something to connect to in the media they enjoy and sometimes that can be a useful thing
