The first batch of 42 did have a feed problem that we factory-repaired. It was a feed issue with some of the earlier magazines and the feed ramp on the barrel. Later versions do not have the problem. There are markings in the gun when you remove the slide that tell you when it was manufactured and if you might have a problem. If the bullet was rounded on the front you would not, if it was flat you might but not necessarily with self-defense rounds.

I've been a Glock owner, on and off, since 1989. I re c rntly bought a G42 AND a G43 for carrying when anything else is too big. My preferred EDC is my Walther PPQ M2.

Best pocket pistol ever and I have carried alot of different pistols daily for 36 years now since 2010 this has been the only one, I own 2 my first one actually has some of the muzzle polished off from carrying it in my pocket but still works flawlessly ..LCP made my revolvers obsolete 😂🇺🇸

Gentlemen, I have been trying to change the mag base plate but I found that the OEM mag doesn’t fit in the new base plate. The oem mag base edge goes inside and the aftermarket base plate is for outsider edge… any suggestions?

This was definitely helpful... The biggest thing though was that my spring and rod were stuck to the barrel and wouldn't come off. I cleaned it where it was but idk why it wouldn't come off.

I have the ancient Model 60 which is a bit heavier than the newer 637. Still thinking if I need a lighter 637 for EDC.

Sort of the same situation as speed loaders, some people may say it takes just as much time to load a speed loader as it does to load a revolver, and of course it's to be prepared in advance. You dont want to use up all your range time reloading individually it can be very time consuming. If there are 2 of you taking turns using the lane then your coshooter can reload the speed loaders while you shoot, etc, etc.

Always make sure weapon is clear before disassembly, shot myself in the leg a few years ago in-front of my wife while trying to instruct her how to take her weapon apart. Accidents do happen.

Great review. I own one - The 1.0 model. It's good enough for me. You can buy a 10-round mag which is what I did. That makes it more comparable with competitive guns on today's market.

Thank you for your help. My first time taking my SR 22 down for a light cleaning. Had only slight problem getting slide back on frame, Im sure after a couple more times I will get it back on easily as it came off. I would be careful putting more than a very light covering of oil on any part of the slide or action and especially the trigger parts. Oil and /or grease while necessary attract dust , carbon fouling and powder residues. Light and often. Suppressors / silencers dont silence but with subsonic ammo ( dont know if all will cycle but some def will) the loudest sounds will be your bullets hitting target and your neighbors thanking you if like myself you shoot often and during early morn or sometimes at night. Thanks again. Shoot safe.

I re-racked it from the back to the front instead of front to back and damn, did I screw it up. I have to take it to an armorer to get the slide off again. probably won't buy another glock, I had a gen 3 and it could be done from either way. I'm thinking springfield xdm. S&W shields won't let you dry fire.

The complain of safety thing is just nonsense. 1. The chance of misfiring by you or somebody is so much greater than you need a deadly weapon to defend yourself. Firing a gun is always your last option. 2. Practice with the safety on at the range. It will became muscle memory like riding a bike.

Thanks for the video. But, if you kill yourself, from there it's either smoking or non smoking, if you know what I mean. One thing you might want to cover is adjusting the front sight. I used the tip of a round and my Swiss Army knife (like we did it in Nam) but I struggled with that and then I found out there is a tool for adjusting the front sight which makes it easy.
