Doing my first solo trip to Tokyo in April, I’m so excited but still trying to figure out an itinerary
@jseasterman13 сағат бұрын
I was a teacher and a tutor. I was a college professor without a degree - because I'm a subject matter expert in one area, the top in the world - maybe one or two other guys can do what I do at my level. I've taught college in IT certification across multiple disciplines. Microsoft, Linux, Cisco. 8ve tutored Kindergarten to 9th grade in primarily math. A job on the Japanese country side as a teacher of children would be a dream job. I am very successful with getting children to learn. Any subject, math, language, English, local national history, world history, ancient history - I was taught mesopotamian cuneiform in theb3rd grade - my whole class was reading play tablets better than Indiana Jones. Benefits of private school. I am familiar with Etruscan, ancient Greek linear script A and B for minoan and Mycinaean and Minoan and the 5,000 year old Greek Kanji and syllabary they had in the Greek Isles. I am familiar with archeology of Mexico, South America, Europe, and Asia, and the cult7res of Africa from the time of Solomon to the Kingdom of Benin, to modern Nigeria. I was assessed by Artificial Intelligence as a Network Architect. I myself thought the computer should be hired immediately as a Junior level technician or entry or senior apprentice - darn that thing was smart. Anyway, JAPAN. How do I get this teaching job in the Japanese Countryside? Teach class 14 hours and go to the nearest Ramen noodle shop. How do I know? Dude, I know kids. Japanese kids were raised right. They see their dumbass senses show up at 4:00 AM in the morning and stay until 7:00 PM and wear their little brains out all day in class, and blessed little buggers will show up, line up, and bow. Then they'll brag about me to their parents about me. My nephews and nieces did it. How do I get to Japan, teaching in the Japanese countryside at a rural fishing village? I know Japanese history, English history, American history, Russian history, and a bit of Chinese history. I can teach Shakespeare, modern English, Middle English or Chaucer's English that Lawyers used in the time of Shakespeare, Old English or Saxon - the language of the epic Old English poem of Beowulf, English modern literature, Middle ages to 19th century English literature, I am a huge fan of anime and have watched all 700 episodes of Naruto - I know more about the Hidden Leaf Village than the average Japanese. I am familiar with Ninpo, Ninjitsu, Aikijutsu, Karate of like 9 different Japanese styles and taekwondo, I have a Japanese work ethic and sensibility - I would love to work somewhere they actually appreciate that instead of a bunch of lazy whining westerners for once. It's not that I'm casting aspersions mind you, I've ridden long subway trains for commuter purposes. I guess my question is: HOW THE HECK D9 I GET TO JA0AN FOR THIS "DREAM JOB" OF TEACHING IN THE JAPANESE COUNTRYSIDE EVERYBODY HATES? That's live anime culture and nobody looks art you funny for working 2 hours before sun up until 2 hours after sun down. I KNOW HOW THE JAPANESE LIVE. My students were the only Americans with their success rate: 50% employed before they graduated. Give me your elementary and grade schoolers and they'll be applying hard for salary men jobs to impress the CEO of SONY.They'll say they "learned from Amerika-jin Sensei and he works harder than any Japanese." I'm a workaholic. I put in 8 hours a week as a technical SME, and 80 hours or more a week when I took up teaching college. So, YES, where can I get this Japanese Dream Job of teaching in the Japanese Country side? By, the way, Swedish man, I read the Bible in all Scandinavian languages and Faroese and Finnish, IKEA furniture design and arsthetics are very similar to Japanese. You turn me loose on a fishing village in Japan and it will be like a fishing village for eskimos. I've seen a blued eyed Eskimo, I've eaten sushi since 1990. I know about the Sukoji Fish Market, Shibuya Ku, Minato ku, Ginza, Greater Tokyo, the subway, the bullet train, Sumo wrestling, and a lot mire about v3nding machine culture in Japan than weird voyeuristic stuff - that I have never seen and won't want to. I want a Japanese house, I know about Machiyas in Kyoto, penthouses in Ginza, houses in Hokkaido and sushi restaurants in Okinawa. I can probably teach German and Swedish, too. I read the Luther Bobke in HauptDeutch and 7 German dialects including Deitch, Plaudietchs, West German and Bavarian. I would very much like to get to Japan to do this teaching job you say everyone hates - I will become a living anime character like Far and and Away or Arietty or Naruto. Like I said, I am the #1 teach, tutor, and college professor of elementary to 4th year college and I can adopt African standards, Russian standards and top standards in Europe such as Eton. I'm smarter than the idiots they turn out at Harvard or MIT - because I care, nit because of book learning. Books intimidate students, kids and people learn from a teacher who take an interest in their success. I appreciate your time. Thank you for sharing with the public.

My most recent trip, I stayed for 3 weeks in October. I went to these cities/sites in this order, Tokyo, Hakodate, Hirosaki, Lake Towada, Kazuno, Tono, Sendai, Yamadera, Gotemba, Tokyo again, Takamatsu, Iya Valley, Naruto, Kochi, Imabari, Hiroshima, Iwakuni, Return to Tokyo to return home.
@linuxman77772 күн бұрын
I went to Naruto city, while the whirlpools are a bit underwhelming the surrounding park is quite nice. I stopped there while exploring around Shikoku in my rental car from Orix Rent A Car at Takamatsu Airport.

i'll be going to japan for 5 weeks in february/march and no matter how much i "plan" i still find myself never really following plans. i plan cities and then just go from there. i'm doing 2 and a half weeks in osaka and the rest in tokyo. also, huge yes to the website because my fat ass wants to go to the pokemon cafe SO BADLY!! and i have failed miserably way too many times to get a reservation lmao
@JustAnotherJapanChannel3 күн бұрын
February and March is so nice weather wise in Japan! That's exactly how I like to travel too, just choose cities and relax + explore. Definitely will add that service to my site as I've been getting positive feedback on it! Can't wait to get it up and running before summer 2025!

I was thinking about going for a month in about a year, would you say the month of July or august would be more bearable?
@JustAnotherJapanChannel3 күн бұрын
If you gotta choose between July and August, I'd say July is more bearable. August this year in Kansai had a heatwave with temps upwards of 45c which is made even more unbearable with intense humidity!

Personally, I greatly enjoy staying around the smaller cities like Hida. The hotels and food are much cheaper and the nature is beautiful there. I get tired of all the noise and concrete of the big cities.
@JustAnotherJapanChannel3 күн бұрын
Absolutely! I also prefer staying in smaller cities, but I'm pretty sure first timers to Japan stay in the bigger cities instead of jumping in that deep 😂
@coolbrotherf1273 күн бұрын
@JustAnotherJapanChannel True enough. Being at least conversational in Japanese helps a lot when visiting more rural areas. English help is a lot more common in big cities.

Fellow Scaninavian here (svensk). Going back for the fourht trip during hanami season. But I thought it was gonna be crowded as hell during that season as well, going anyway, mostly because of less humidity/typhoons and of coruse not a bad backdrop. 10 days this tips, 7 in Tokyo, 2 in Kyoto and 1 in Osaka. Why only 1 day in Osaka, well havent been there before so I dont know too many things to do. If I end up going to Universal that will be most of day gone but we will see. For sure most of my budget, except shopping for vinyls, is dedicated towards to food and experiences. Setting up that service sounds like a great plan. I have question, how quickly does the Shinkansen train tricket run out? Planning on traveling on first trains out so does not have to be during convient hours. Also, I would also appreciate recommendation for some Okonomiyaki and/or Takoyaki place that might be better than big chains.
@JustAnotherJapanChannel3 күн бұрын
Currently writing a bunch of content so the site will have a lot of content on launch next year, will absolutely add the service and facilitate! Hanami season is great if you don't mind the crowds and just go at your own pace. As a fellow Scandinavian, I'm sure you hate crowds as much as I but will be able to manage by spacing out lol. Shinkansen tickets do run out pretty quickly during high season, but if you're a bit flexible on time there will always be another shinkansen 10 minutes after the other! One of my kinda secret and not well known Okonomiyaki/Teppanyaki shops that I really enjoy is Kunichan in Nishikujo. Excellent okonomiyaki, fantastic yakisoba and very cheap lemon chuhai 🍻

I have came across so many people having Tokyo -> Osaka or Kyoto in a single day using the Shinkansen in their itinerary. Some of the reasons I heard is because of JR pass and they want to experience taking the Shinkansen. Due to the JR pass price hike, JR pass may not be a viable reason now, but there are still people treating the whole traveling between Tokyo and Osaka/Kyoto using Shinkansen an experience that cannot be missed while in Japan. I have been to Japan 3 times, I have taken the Shinkansen 0 times. The last time I have Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto in my itinerary, I took a budget flight from Narita to Kansai Airport, which if I'm not wrong, can be shorter and cheaper than taking a Shinkansen from Tokyo to Osaka. I stayed in Osaka for a few days, visited Kyoto while I was there, then took another budget flight back to Narita, and stayed in Tokyo for the rest of my holiday. Why spend your limited time wasting it all on back and fourth Shinkansen trips between Tokyo and Osaka/Kyoto? How many places can you visit in a single day after subtracting the time spent on Shinkansen? Just choose a central location as your accomodation, then plan around it.
@LargeHadronAnusCollider5 күн бұрын
Down low shinsekai was actually the worse place i visited in Osaka, not sure if it was the crappy weather the miserable staff in every store or just the overall vibe. I fucking hated it. Also i got severe food poisoning from Kura Sushi in Dontobori.. That was not fun.
@JustAnotherJapanChannel5 күн бұрын
Shinsekai/Tsutenkaku can be very hit or miss. It's become very touristy, so the staff gets a little shitty there at times!
@AverageBot5 күн бұрын
Not really a fan of planing everything to a really tight scheduel tbh. I like to take my time exploring stuff I didnt know about and actually experience a place instead of having a checklist of things "I should be doing".

Hi well I'm planning to travel to japan in December is to see if japan is for me i have a friend from school who lives in Okinawa and I'll be staying in japan for one month because one week doesn't give the time to visit kyoto, osaka, or fukuoka so one month is enough to explore around japan and I'll be flying nonstop from PR to japan I'm not going to get the kfc Christmas dinner which is a Christmas traditional dinner in japan It needs to make a reservation for the kfc Christmas dinner because they quickly sold out the next day I always wanted to try japanese mcdonalds and other fast food chains like mos burger, domdom burger, and freshness burger before heading to the hotel
@JustAnotherJapanChannel5 күн бұрын
One month is a good amount to be able to experience what you want to experience! The KFC Christmas set is pretty crazy, remember to pre order a few days in advance as they sell out quick!

@JustAnotherJapanChannel6 күн бұрын
Some English schools do hire people with no college degree as it's just a baseline requirement for most. If you're from a native English speaking country (US/Canada/Aus) this is the prime stepping stone to get in and start here. ... Or hail Mary marriage to some random Japanese person 😂
@missgreenbottles8 күн бұрын
No offense but I have to completely disagree with you about hostels. I travel all over the place, I'm in my 30s too and I prefer a hostel to a boring isolated hostel room. These days they are really clean and I meet a lot of really nice people who generally are more interested in seeing the cultural sites and museums than getting drunk partying.
@JustAnotherJapanChannel8 күн бұрын
I don't get offended at all if someone disagrees with me! If you enjoy it, by all means do it. I just might seem a little over the top in my hate for hostels 😂

I’m in remission from a chronic illness that made me severely malnourished and underweight, I’m 184cm and weighed almost 50kg. Sorry to hear about the illness, but very happy to hear you're on the mend! The key would be smør under the nugatti 😂 You got a free pass to eat in Japan, go ham with the delicious fried stuff, double or triple noodle portion ramen and all you can eat bbq🇯🇵🍻

Seems kinda short-sighted. Halloween in Japan is very special for the young people and the elderly. People in-between, we should educate them on making it special for the kids. It's a big deal. It's not cool that we're shutting down the parties. Just tell people to be more Japanese and we'll be fine lol.
@JustAnotherJapanChannel21 күн бұрын
Short sighted is usually the game plan for solutions in Japan. The Kawaguchiko barrier they put up to stop tourists from flocking there has quietly been taken down again!
