I have many acquaintances, very few friends. Id rather have 4 quarters than 100 pennies. I've even had quarters turn into pennies. That is sad and really hurts. I tell no one anything.

I love love this and I’m going to make some today. I am studying the microbiome and I just wanted to say that cats can’t eat grains. It cause leaky gut and dysbiosis in them. We humans can’t eat it either. It’s the main cause of low grade chronic inflammation. I’m going to make mine with jicama for fibers and carrots or beets for vegetables. I’m so happy I discovered this way of making food. I tried the raw freezing meat but it doesn’t taste good for my cats and this is so much more convenient to store it too.

You can't safely can rice fyi
@PreparednessPro4 ай бұрын
I'm a rebel canner. Europeans do can rice safely, even using the waterbath method. I use pressure canning which is even safer. The U.S. does not have the corner market on safe canning.
@Patty-bs3bz Жыл бұрын
No offense but I checked on this. Pasta, rice and noodles aren’t safe to add to canning jars because the starch interferes with the heat transfer. It will interfere with killing the botulism. And while the viscosity in the jars (thickness of the mashed cat food) looks okay- it could be a factor in heat transfer if it’s packed in to tightly.

I don't have one per se, but you can substitute the fish for the chicken and yes, you can leave out the rice. I would invest in taurine next time though and add it in.

I had no idea that you could can your own cat food! I recently had an extremely difficult time locating the grain-free brand of cat food that my cats eat. It was the only kind of dry cat food my cats would eat. I found out that the company is no longer going to make it due to the pandemic issues. This is so awesome that I found your videos because this is a great idea!

The rice has cyanide in it. You must cook it first in lots and lots of water and then drain that water to get rid of the cyanide. The beans; you need to soak overnight in some vinegar. You can't just SLOP everything and expect it to be optimally healthy. Your fish is so expensive so don't wreck it by skipping the crucial steps of preparing the cheaper ingredients.
@kellenevaile2 жыл бұрын
Pressure cooking mitigates the need for both of those issues.
@undercoverbird85922 жыл бұрын
@@kellenevaile lol i have never heard of soaking beans in vinegar. Again the pressure canner takes care of all that. RoseRed homestead channel - she covers a lot! I usually just boil then let my beans sit for an hour then put into soup. Never had a problem in 15 years.
@deannamartin68272 жыл бұрын
No, actually it's ARSENIC. Not cyanide. Primarily an issue if you buy rice grown in southeast u.s. I will never soak beans in vinegar, what does that accomplish? But by all means, you do you.

Cats do not need rice. Where are the species appropriate nutrients? Liver, bone/calcium
@PreparednessPro2 жыл бұрын
They are getting calcium through the bones in the fish. But yes, if I were to remake this, I would definitely change up the recipe. Mine actually likes the small amount of rice added.
